I wasn't there. You weren't there. I happen to think it doesn't happen nearly as much as people think. I think 90% of cops are awesome and 100% of them have an impossible job. But it happens. A lot. If 99% of cops never did a racist thing in their life, which of course isn't true, out of every 100,000 cops there are a 1000 racist cops running around. I personally know an incredibly racist Buffalo cop. He's been suspended for it, had lawsuits, fired from jobs, written up a lot. He's a madman. To think all of these minorities are just making this up or out of their minds or racists themselves and cops don't shoot the wrong people at times is insane.

As I said, you just ignore them. Oh, this was during Katrina. That doesn't count. Oh, Bruce wrote a song, that doesn't count. Oh, this guy lunged, that doesn't count. Oh, this guy was acquitted, that surely proves he did nothing wrong, that definitely doesn't count. Oh, these six I won't mention so they don't count. Oh, it doesn't state clearly they did any thing wrong (nor state they did anything right) I won't count those few. Oh, this guys cell phone was too big, I won't count that. Oh, this one was shot in the head but there must be more to it, I won't count that. You do make me laugh. I'll give you that much.

Dareus traded to Jacksonville!
Kelly the Dog replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure that matters. It's not his decision whether he was double teamed or not. People were complaining he was intentionally being misused with Ryan as a more conventional NT clogger of the line rather than a disrupter and going after QB. He wasn't doing any of that because the whole D was a cluster fuk but that's what people were complaining about. Not that he was double teamed and taking on blockers. -

They are 4-2. Who here thinks they would be 5-1 or 6-0 if they didn't have Dareus for these six games? So how big a problem could he be if indeed he is one. And yes, I know this is for the future and salary cap reasons. -
I said half and half. But if the public defender was smart enough to get a mostly black jury and make Mark Furman look like a racist from his own words then yes, he could have won with a public defender. It's incredible how many black people in LA still think he is innocent. Because they truly believe the cops could do that.

2018 draft would you be upset if
Kelly the Dog replied to Dboodrow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A first second and third is likely not close to getting it done. Both firsts for sure (neither of ours will be top picks) Plus a second and maybe both of them. That's totally ignoring all the guys taken before them that sucked. -
I don't know all that much about them but I thought it was a Canadian couple and the wife was lefty and the dude was a republican. Again, I don't know a lot about them but also in general haven't seen a ton of stuff they said officially debunked, nor would I just assume they are right. What I will say is like a lot of things recently, and Politifact, Townhall, the New York Times, Politico, WSJ, National Review, and all sorts of outlets from both sides are automatically assumed to be wrong. Because a tiny portion of their reporting was proven to be false. But 95%of what all of them actually do is not false. The Times has a blatant bias and at times in the last couple years has been, well, deplorable. But 95% of their articles are not. Sure, argue about the numbers. thats not the point and it doesn't matter. The point is that no one is looking at the media as being true and most of the times it is. I'm not at all talking about opinion pieces. That's grossly leftist and not intended to be true. It's opinion. There is an undeniable left lean to the mainstream media. I would say 80%. Bit that doesn't mean 80% of the reporting is untrue. And yet that is how it is processed by people these days. Both sides are equally to blame. This isn't a political stance. Lefties don't believe most of what comes out of right wing blogs the smart way pinko fags don't believe right wing blogs.

2018 draft would you be upset if
Kelly the Dog replied to Dboodrow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a serious question to you and everyone else. Let's just say you are in charge of the Bills and the draft. We have the team we have now. Everyone including you knows we need a QB. You spend months and months scouting players live, watching film, meeting with your scouts, interviewing coaches and the quarterbacks, going to combine and pro days. Everything. There are let's say two guys you think are clearly above the others. Those are the guys you want. Two guys you like a lot but have serious reservations about. And two guys you think are not as good as others think and probably overhyped. I don't know this but I would bet this is BASICALLY true of every GM. Maybe they like three guys a lot, maybe only one. But you get the picture. The question and point is, if both of the two guys you LOVE are gone already, no matter how hard you tried to trade up to get him, do you draft a QB at 15 or 20 that you are not completely sold on because you think you need a franchise QB, instead of a guy available you love at a position of need who was graded much higher than the QB. And just hope the QB works out? Becaus that is the most likely scenario. We are not getting one of the top two guys. None of them are sure things. Everyone including them have questions. We have a bunch of holes to fill. Do you just draft the QB and hope? -
I would bet you anything, anything, that had nothing to do with it. And if Hopkins didn't skip practice we may never have known about it. I haven't seen one player seek out the press. The press sought out them. The players had a players only meeting and argued amongst themselves whether they should all boycott practice. A bunch of them wanted to. That much we know from media asking players, not players going to the media. It came to be that, we don't know how, the players as a whole decided to go to practice as a team. The only reason this came to light was local Houston reporters noticed Hopkins not practicing. He was the only one apparently that decided not to. When the media asked the team why isn't he there because he wasn't injured the team said personal reasons. A reasonable reposnse and pretty much true. No one at this point seemed to want to make this a big media issue. Adam Schefter, who is one of if not the very best at getting scoops and management and agents and players to talk to him, because he is the man in that field, found out that Hopkins skipped practice in protest. And tweeted it out. There is no inference I know of, and I have tried to follow it closely (knowing our limits to really know the truth) that any player tried to make a big deal out of it. Like most stories. Guys like Schefter and local beat reporters are just doing their jobs. They didn't know why the Texans best player wasn't practicing so it's their duty to find out. Then when Shefter and others digging into the story found out more stuff, we the public learned that a lot of players were pissed, they all or a bunch of them were going to not practice, but they decided by themselves that they would. If anyone here wants to chime in with more info we know from reputable sources please do. As fans we can never be sure even if we read an article from a reliable source. The point is, Hopkins and the Texans didn't make a big deal out of this to gain attention from what I know and what I have been following. The local and national media started following the story and digging in (as is their job) and then we learned more. Will be interesting to see what comes next.

2018 draft would you be upset if
Kelly the Dog replied to Dboodrow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's impossible to think of a future draft without knowing what you have signed in free agency to fill holes. But I very much like the idea of your first group. I watched Washington and think he is fantastic but there may be other WR I'm not aware of or haven't seen enough that may be better pros. There are a lot of guys on this board who know a lot about college football. I don't mind the first pick not being QB. Love Bryce Love. Looks like special player. I have no idea what the Bills think of Shady or what Shady thinks of the next two years so he may be a luxury or even more of a need, but he looks great. I think Rudolph goes in top 15-20 but a total steal at 56. That's a no brainer that's not happening I don't think. We don't need three skill players before an OL though. We need two or three new OL so even though I like the guys you suggest, not sure I want to go to our fourth guy before a solid OL. That said, it's also impossible to look at drafts by position the way we are talking here. By need. We would say we need a QB, WR, and RT and RG so we better take one in our first four picks. But a team is never ever going to think that way. If they have a safety they rated a noticeable amount more than the first guy available at a position of need they are going to take the safety, and they should. If it's marginal you take the position of need. If it's noticeable you take the BPA. So we can't just fill positions like you're saying until we know what is available when we pick. I like all three guys though. -
This is a serious question. I don't think it has a definitive answer. I don't think anyone can say this is right and that is wrong. It is an opinion question. And I'm just curious as to what people think about it. From what you just posted, and I assume you believe, do you find any difference, small or large, between a business that lets say makes widgets, from unskilled labor, and anyone off the street could be hired to replace the last guy or gal and make these widgets, that has ZERO to do with your bottom line. They are just worker bees to produce the genius of you and your inner management circle - VERSUS - a company you rely on for their expertise. They are the ones that know how to make the widgets and not a lot of people do. They had to go to college and train for years to know how to make widgets, and it's clear to everyone all of the time that some employees are better widget makers than others. And you just bought this company. You don't know how to make widgets either. Not one of them. Without these specific highly skilled and highly trained workers, your business couldn't function. Do you see any difference in that? As far as what you said about owning a business and dealing with your hired workers? Maybe not. Maybe there isn't one. I think there is but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the boss is king everywhere and everyone regardless of skill or worth or experience should just do what bossman says.

Dareus traded to Jacksonville!
Kelly the Dog replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that's what he is asking. I think he is asking total savings and how much more, if anything, in cap money we can spend after the trade. There are a bunch of responses to that question and if you spend the time you will figure it out. A bunch of folks here know what they're talking about. But you have to, like most internet and social media things, weed through the wackos and people who don't fully understand or have all the information. -
This is a really good idea for a poll because of so many variables. And some, to me, are contradictory, which is why this is an interesting question. I'm voting 5-3, because if I had to bet, it's hard to imagine we win both and are 6-2 halfway through this season. BUT... I think we are going to win this game. By a hair. Because it's home (if this was away I think we lose). And no matter whether we win or whether we lose, I think we beat the Jets. Which doesn't make sense but that is what happens when you try to predict two games that are not no brainers. If you're honest, you figure you may be wrong on one of them.

Logan Thomas’ Daughter RIP
Kelly the Dog replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. That sucks about this even more. It's impossible to be more crushed if something like this happens. So I don't even want to get away from everyone just sending their condolences. I'm not sure I even want anyone to reference this and reply to it. Only to say that he is strong, he is dealing with the impossible, and I imagine and believe he has a good game this week. Contributes well to the team, statistics or not. I'm not a religious guy but I believe in karma. I believe in souls. I believe doing the right thing can get you the right thing for all kinds of various reasons. I believe that people like Logan can draw strength from this. He will want to play for Brooklyn Rose and his wife, Brandie (I think), And he is handling this as well as anyone could hope or expect. Love this guy on our team and in our city. -

It may take you a little while, but just start reading from the beginning, disregard anything not applicable to what you want to know, don't take the first few mentions of it as gospel, and in about five minutes you will know everything you need to know and more. -
More “painful” layoffs coming for espn
Kelly the Dog replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone commenting on this has to know that it's an extremely difficult job. And very few guys, either play by play, or analysts (two diametrically opposed jobs) are universally liked. It's really hard. Like you, I loved Gary Thorne. He was really good and had a great voice and for me, got excited the right amount of time. Emrick and McGuire, however, and obviously just my take, suck ass but could be great. Potentially both of them are very good. They are both extremely knowledgeable, have good voices, and can do their jobs. But they SUCK at it. They don't talk about the game as it's happening, they go off on stupid tangents, they provide useless tidbits about teammates when they were 6 years old, and it's incredibly annoying to me. I know other fans I talked to agree but not sure what national consensus is. I can only assume their bosses like how they call games and don't tell them to concentrate more on it. I think both of them could be great but they suck. -
Dareus traded to Jacksonville!

I don't think any of us here know for sure what his teammates thought of him. Everything I have heard, however, is that his teammates liked him and always have. The only public thing I have seen, although I don't know if there are others, was from Jerel Worthy and it was favorable. That said, players often like other players because of the guy they are, which has nothing to do with performance on the field. From what I have read, heard, and conjectured, is that Dareus was well liked by his teammates but not the kind of guy McBeane wants on the team. So their idea of "locker room" is a totally different concept than the players idea of locker room. McBeane thinks, maybe rightfully so, if you are not 100% in all day every day, you are a detriment to our locker room. We want 100% of those kind of guys. And Marcel, at this point of his life and career may not be. That's why they sent him home for being two hours early instead of two and a half hours early from a preseason game. He didn't see the importance of everyone on the same page. It's understandable. McBeane was all 53 players to be like that. It's unknown whether that is a winning formula. We have talked about it here before, I can't think of a team at any time in any sport that did it this way and won it all. That doesn't mean it can't. I like most of what they are doing so far. Like everyone I would love for it to happen. It's working so far. I'm not betting against them, I'm just not sure whether an entire team of Boy Scouts can win. -
Dareus traded to Jacksonville!
Kelly the Dog replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. That is what is happening in the games. We will see if defenses start to change. -
Bad example. And why there is such a divide. OJ got off to two equal reasons, his money paid for the dream team, and, that dream team played the race card. He got off because the black jurors believed the white cops could have framed him. Not his money. His money paid for the guys that knew that and did everything they could to get black jurors to believe white cops screw them. And so many black people in LA are willing to believe that because crap has happened to them. It wasn't at all about money. The money paid for smart people to expose the race issue.

Agreed. And other weapons, too. My point was that Cousins is a different kind of QB. I just looked at his game logs of last year and he had games of 38-56, 41-53, 30-43, 30-39, 32-47 alongside some Tyrod numbers. Guys make a lot of catches in those games. Goff isn't that guy and McVay isn't running that offense.
