  1. Without this becoming a political thing, and I don't care what anyone believes, I'm just glad that Houston came out to play, Hopkins had a great game, and all the distraction wasn't a distraction, just good fun football. That's what matters.
  2. He has to be. The Bills are going to get a lot of national press this week. McDermott will deservedly get a bunch of props. He's done a fantastic job. The team is prepared. Doesn't make a lot of dumb mistakes or beat themselves. All three units are efficient. He's gotten a lot out of a bunch of no names.
  3. Franchise Quarterback is a hard to define term. And at any one time there may be only five of them. Eli wasn't one, was one, is not one. Flacco wasn't one, was one, may not be one. Matty Ice would eventually be one, became one, may not be one. Rivers was always on the brink of being one. I would never say Tyrod is one now. And doubt he will be one. BUT... if he did three plays a game that franchise quarterbacks make, and didn't make the three plays a game he makes that virtually none of the franchise quarterbacks make, he would be thought of a lot differently. It's impossible to compare him to almost anyone else, except maybe Russell Wilson. I think a guy like Rivers or Matt Ryan or Eli would get murdered on the Bills in most games.
  4. I was going to start a separate thread just named Leonard Johnson, because he has played steady and well the entire season, both against the run and pass. Hits. Tackles. Covers. But with Tre and Hyde and Poyer and Gaines getting a lot of deservedly good pub, Johnson has played well, too. So let's give them both credit today.
  5. That's awesome. And team building stuff.
  6. He's pretty smart though. I worry he's going to get hurt but he doesn't take a lot of bad hits. He goes down when he knows he's going to be tackled. Tyrod, too, for that matter. A lot of backs that get worn down after 4-5 years just try to get every yard and their bodies get abused and then they can't do what they did before. Plus the average shelf life of running backs is a distorted stat. A lot of RBs come out of nowhere and beat out veteran guys. It's a position where you save money on having two young or nobody backups.
  7. He always does that. He's a monster hitter. Hopefully he doesn't get flagged. Played a very good game overall. Just not getting burnt meant a huge game, plus he made some plays. The INT was thrown right to him, he wasn't even covering anyone. But he made it.
  8. I have to give WGR guys credit for this, maybe Nate Geary? He just said the Bills lead the league in turnover differential, I think everyone would believe that, and it's a remarkable 17-3. But he said that the last team to lead the league in turnover differential and not reach the playoffs was 18 years ago.
  9. I don't like when other teams do it to us either. That's part of it.
  10. Now he can be used as an awesome decoy the rest of the year.
  11. I think I started it and it really was a minor criticism of showboating 10 yards from a TD. Not a big deal any way you look at it. He's awesome.
  12. Darby was very good in his first year. But I didn't see him doing everything technically well like Tre is. He's almost always right on his guy. He's a good tackler. He's making a lot of plays. The fumble recovery TD was a result of him doing that every day in practice. He's been a lot better overall IMO than Darby. Darby was good though.
  13. I was wondering why the Raiders went away from what they did on the first drive. This is a factor but still doesn't explain it. Tre is a ridiculous player for a rookie CB. One of the hardest positions in the league. He does virtually everything well. Everyone is going to give up a play here and there. But he's been terrific. Yep. If you took this guy at 10 you would be thrilled with the production.
  14. He is playing well with nobodies. It's rather remarkable. Shady helps a lot obviously. But losing Clay hasn't affected him at all. Dennison really did a good job today.
  15. I know what you are saying. RB and WR are okay as far as I am concerned to have that attitude with the huge caveat that you need to try 100% on plays you don't get the ball. I don't think his personal motivation of getting to 10,000 is a selfish act or non team player one bit unless his attempt to get personal goals is detrimental to the teams goals and they are not. If a DB tries to get INTs because he wants the stats or a DE doesn't try to stop the run because he wants sacks it's a different story.
  16. You haven't been awake in a decade. You used to be fun.
  17. I'm not looking for ways for them to screw up. I thought we would win the Tampa Bay game. This game I thought we might lose but thought we had a decent chance. I think we will win the Jet game.
  18. Depends on your definition of showboat. I don't think 95% of what he does is showboating. He's an emotional player that shows it on the field. What else does he do that is showboating. I don't think the way he holds the ball is showboating, it's just how he plays.
  19. No one holds a loaf of bread like a football player holds a football when he is holding it like a loaf of bread. Never happens. You never see a shopper holding a loaf of bread in one hand, squeezing it, with their arm extended out. Ever.
  20. That's what he did. He knew it. But that doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. I have seen players try to just raise it over their heads and fumble just doing that. It's also offensive to the other team imo. I don't like when other teams or players do it to our team. There is a fine line between exuberance and being a big personality and showboating. I'm not a fan of showboating. I love Shady. Still do. Don't think less of him for doing it. I just don't think he should.
  21. I never said everyone's racist in a bad way and don't believe it. I say I am racist because by definition I am, I favor minorities because I think they have got a bum deal and need people to give them the benefit of the doubt because there are a lot of racists. I think that is a completely different thing than a racist in the normal understanding, hurting minorities.
  22. Yup. It's funny though. Before the Tampa Bay game we were 3-2, and before the game I was thinking this will be a good barometer on the team we have. We had the nice win and thinking about the Raider game, I thought this will be a good barometer about how good a team we are. We came up huge. But now I think what you just said, this week against the Jets will be a good barameter on how good a team he have.
  23. And yet if you have seen the same guy say dumb or insensitive things a bunch of other times before, you don't make an ill-informed comment and analogy like yours.
  24. If you are honest with yourself, and what you say, and you take things individually, each one, as they come, and decide each time depending on your own beliefs and knowledge, that is what you get. When you are full of crap, and you only think one way or most always take one side, or don't take them individually, you are consistent.
  25. I hold an aberrant personal feeling about that kind of stuff I don't expect anyone else to agree with or adhere to.
