  1. Give me an argument of all possibilities why it is a good call with that much time left.
  2. Right. I agree with you for the most part. My point is really that he is such a competitor he is going to want to play. He won't know himself if he is 60-70-80-90 %. And at what point does it become a detriment.
  3. That going for two was a TERRIBLE CALL. If we make it it's 21 points. Three TDs. But we were 19 points up. If we just kick the point it's 20. That means they cannot win without three TDs and little time to do that much. At 20 they cannot tie with two TDs and a FG. It's a horrible call. At 19, if we miss, which we did, that's two TDs and a FG (obviously with two two point conversions but still). That's just a bad call. As it is they could have WON at the end because of that crappy call. Otherwise they just tie.
  4. Yup. They are not only going to want to play him but listen to him. And I'm not at all thinking he is going to be lying about his injury, I just think if it is close he is going to think he can go. But no one is going to know. If he can't cut like he does he is not going to be worth it.
  5. You are one of my favorite posters here. You really seem like you know football and don't comment emotionally because you are Bills biased. I would be shocked however, if you looked at those last five decisions from a step back, and regardless of how it turned out, thought that is is what the decision should have been. That is for Gunner.
  6. The problem is if he is close he will tell the coaches and trainers he can play. If his ankle isn't 80-90% he won't be able to be Shady. Our backups are weak. He's a fighter and extremely confident in his abilities. It's what I love about him. But there is a great chance that the sprain makes him unable to be Shady, and yet he believes and tells the coaches and trainers he can go. This is NOT a criticism of Shady. I think every competitor thinks the same way. But a sprained ankle sucks for a guy like him.
  7. Exactly. With crappy receivers and crappy OC and crappy OL. A
  8. Love it. So great that Kyle gets it.
  9. I'm not against a conservative approach. At all. If anything I lean toward kicking the FG and points versus going for it. But McD is erratic. He isn't either conservative or aggressive. To me he's made the wrong decision like 4 of the last 5 times. One or more of them have worked but that doesn't mean it was right. And again I like McDermott overall.
  10. There are a lot of things so great about that. No matter what happens to McDermott and what kind of coach he becomes I will always love him for that. It was so great and appropriate and wasn't risking an important moment for a sentimental moment, which would have sucked. Kyle was not going to fumble. The defense was not going to think he'd get the ball. He's a surprisingly great athlete. He's a scratch golfer so he has great hands. I can't overstate how much I love McDermott for doing that. It was so very great. And a good call.
  11. The last several big decisions on punting versus going for FG or going for TD versus kicking a FG have been awful. And I like him. It's not someone looking for things to complain about. I watch games with a guy who knows 10x more football than me and we can't believe the decisions he makes. Not to mention not insisting on strategies his OC or DC are making. We should have won this game by 14 points.
  12. Do you really think the last five go for it versus FG decisions were good ones? Seriously?
  13. McDermott is an enigma to me. He clearly has a lot going for him. We didn't have a great roster and yet we finished 9-7 and sneaked into the playoffs. But the people I know that know a lot of football agree that he makes horrible in game decisions. Repeatedly. I think so, too. The Peterman decision was awful. The choices of punts or field goals has been awful. The basic philosophies on both offense and defense have been extremely questionable. I love the guy for the Kyle Williams play I will never forget. But he seems to make a lot of good preparation decisions and a lot of bad in game decisions. A lot.
  14. How about the Tyrod haters. He won it.
  15. This is how I feel. There is so much I like and then so much that seems like, how could you do that?! That said, I will give McD the benefit of the doubt. He has a lot of stuff going for him. And I will always love him for the Kyle Williams play. I think that is just fantastic.
  16. We tried to lose, we just didn't have enough time.
  17. We are 8-3 with Gaines starting and 1-4 when he is down I think. We are 8-3 with Gaines starting and 1-4 when he is down I think.
  18. Tyrod isn't great. He misses too many easy passes he needs to hit to offset his other deficiencies. BUT... I also think better QBs than him would be way worse than him on this team. Good QBs would get killed on this team. The only reasonable thing to do is keep him, do all we can to get a top draft pick QB, get rid of Dennison, let Tyrod and our #1 pick have a legitimate tryout in camp, and if rookie is anywhere near a tie, he gets the start. Then we have the best backup in the league.
  19. Poyer Clay Tyrod Kyle Gaines
  20. You Simon. You deserve it as much as anyone.
  21. Sure it is. He simply tells the team I don't want to play for you. End of discussion. No team is paying 25m+ for a guy who may not buy all in.
  22. Cousins will not agree to a trade unless he LOVES the team AND they give him EVERYTHING he wants. Why would he agree to a trade with the Bills? Why wouldn't he just sign with them and let them use those assets to get him better players to play with on offense and defense. Him agreeing to a trade doesn't really make much sense.
  23. Could always hire Jeff Gillooly.
  24. I think a lot of times when a coach has somewhat of a meteoric rise, and becomes the head man when they are young, in any sport they let it go to their head. Saint Doug surely did. They think I am going to be different, and I know the right way to do this, simply because they haven't been proven wrong yet. McDermott had never been a HC of any kind so it was even worse. His buddy had done a lot of jobs but had never been in charge either. I could see the shine wearing off quick if veteran guys saw stuff they didnt like.
  25. Wow. I do believe it but didnt think it would be that strong. But I trust you and your sources.
