  1. I don't think there was any misconception to that at all. He was historically awful and not ready. It was an egregious mistake. The idea from anyone that the Bills would have won with Tyrod is just ridiculous, and I think it was possible but unlikely.
  2. I understand. It's funny that we both think the same thing is a huge misconception, for diametrically opposed reasons. I do think they cheat. A lot. I also just think they are great without it.
  3. I like that one. I don't think they need to cheat to win, and yet they still do, which to me makes their cheating worse.
  4. I don't know about Marcel, but it's my experience that passing out is deep, good sleep.
  5. Yes we did. He made insane catches a few times a season.
  6. There are a lot of them. I have a bunch in my head. I was writing this post in the Alex Smith thread but decided to make it an open thread to discuss a lot of them. The one I will start with is that just because a player is better than another, he is better for your team than the lesser player. This happens all the time. The Bills aren't good enough overall, nor will they be likely in the next year or two, for a game manager guy like Alex Smith, whom I like a lot, to win it all. It's possible, of course, that the line and coaching and WR on offense will take a giant leap next season but it isn't likely. And while Smith is pretty mobile, and a LOT more accurate than Tyrod, his actual production unless the line and coaching and WR are substantially upgraded, will likely be marginal. IMO there are like 5-6 QBs in the league who are better overall quarterbacks who would be worse than Tyrod on this team. He disguises a lot of deficiencies.
  7. Who is this Taylor person you speak of. Did I miss something?
  8. Yup. It's funny how fans, with good reason, love loyalty like he had shown or Joe Thomas did or Kyle has. And yet if you were a player, why wouldn't you love to experience that. Sure, it worked out well for Kyle this year, but for a lot of guys it doesn't. We love loyalty but the teams aren't really loyal to the players.
  9. That's a good point. And the line is substantially better at run blocking than pass blocking.
  10. Gurley had a fantastic year and legit option as MVP. Donald is their best player, and probably the best defensive player in the league.
  11. The announcers made a big deal out of the Falcons double covering him on the last play before the FG.
  12. Yup. If I had to bet right now who will win I think it would be the Rams. It all depends, IMO, whether Goff plays decent or well in the fourth quarter of a playoff game. He doesn't have to win it for them, he just has to do what he is doing now, which is just average.
  13. Except the rush is on him a huge majority of the time in three seconds or less. Yes, he holds it too long a lot. Yes, he takes off sometimes from a phantom rush. Yes, he should throw it away before being tackled from behind a lot. But he avoids about 2-6 sacks or throwaway incompletions a game because the line stinks and he's the most elusive QB in the game.
  14. While that is true, it was an incomplete pass.
  15. Yep. Bad decision. They may be lucky it was a bad pass, too.
  16. I would totally think that too if I knew nothing about professional athletes and competitors and friends.
  17. This much: <-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
  18. Yup. Never saw that from Kelly, Thurman, Andre or Bruce. They were professionals.
  19. They also have a history in the last few years of winning a lot of games at the end. But they surely lost this game as much as Tenn won it. The Schottenheimer analogy isn't a bad one and the same team a lot of years. The Chiefs have lost six home playoff games in a row.
