  1. Now that they are all legitimately in play, put them in order of preference... Mine is: 1. Rosen 2. Darnold 3. Mayfield 4. Jackson 5. Allen 6. Rudolph
  2. I don't think anyone in the world knows with any certainty whether there will be 2, 3 or 4 QBs in the top 5 right now.
  3. True. But at six you never know if he is going to be available. I guarantee you they love a dozen players at 22 versus 37.
  4. Regardless of what the draft chart says I would personally rather have 12 and 22 than 6, 37 and 49. I understand both sides but I think if you look at the histories of 37 and 49 the chances of getting two solid if not star players would be better at 12 and 22.
  5. True. There are a lot of variables. I predict there will be a lot of wheeling and dealing right when the draft starts rather than someone moving up to 1 or 2 in the days leading up to it. But you never know.
  6. Agreed. The real tricky business is if you are Beane, McDermott and the scouts, and your rating on the top two guys, let's just say Rosen and Darnold, are very close, which is a very real possibility. It would almost be surprising if all three between Beane, McD, and the scouting staff all liked the same guy as #1. Then you might be happy with either of the first two and not have to give up that valuable extra pick or player to get up to 2 versus 3 or 4.
  7. I think we know before the draft if we are trading up to go after Rosen or Darnold by who we sign in FA as the veteran. If it's a Matt Moore or McCarron we are trading up. If it's one of the top guys, Keenum or Bridgewater (not that I want them or predict it) then we likely stay at 12 and go after Mayfield, Allen or Jackson. If you are getting Rosen or Darnold there is no need to spend any capital on a vet FA. You get one but as a backup not bridge.
  8. Duh. Do the math.
  9. I actually wouldn't mind that if we got a stud at 3. Although I would prefer to go after JR.
  10. I still do them occasionally. Maybe one a month. Too busy at regular work. Thanks though.
  11. Yeah, he is. Darnold was last year. But now I prefer Rosen. It's impossible to know anything of course. If I had my pick I would take Rosen.
  12. I actually thought a month ago that I would trade 21 and 22 and Glenn for Rosen, and that it was possible with the right team. That seems doable now.
  13. I'm hoping for a third. I'm fearing a fourth. We shouldn't do it for less than a second, which he is worth more than.
  14. That’s where I am. Always really liked Ivory. Then get a late round young guy. And rid ourselves of Tolbert.
  15. Methinks you weren’t watching much in 2015-2017 either.
  16. You also have to take into consideration that Tyrod is poster boy for Team Eagle Scout that McDermott and Beane are trying to build. They know he will help any rookie and is a great role model for getting in early, staying late, watching film, being a good citizen. That goes a long way with these guys.
  17. No brainer but smart move, if no brainers can even be called smart moves. There was always and still is at least a 50-50 chance he’s back. I wouldn’t mind Tyrod and Jackson. Still hoping for Rosen though.
  18. So they don't count it as a pressure when the OL completely gets burnt and his DL is right on top of the QB almost immediately, which happened all the time. Good work, next gen.
  19. I think he's not going because he heard he may not be taken until 20-25 and the fourth or fifth QB taken. And didn't want to be embarrassed if it turns out to be the case.
  20. Well if that were the criterion no movie would ever get made.
  21. True. Of course, they didn't want Marlon Brando either. And a lot of those decisions were being made by a guy who wasn't even head of the studio, Paramount, but rather Gulf and Western President Charles Bluhdorn.
  22. Absolutely true. Scent of a Woman was embarrassing IMO.
  23. Because those are two of the best movies ever made, and there really wouldn't be a discussion if you included those. Of course, the studio at the time didn't want Pacino at all and numerous times turned him down before finally Coppola convinced the powers that be that he should get the role.
  24. Godfathers don't count. Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico for me. His best performance doesn't necessarily equate to the best movie or the favorite movie.
  25. Gabel's was one of the best bars ever. Really was amazing in a lot of ways. It's been in existence as a rock 'n roll bar for about 60 years. I was there in its heyday in the 70s. 50 cents for a cooler was awesome.
