I really don't care that he has lost a step. Put him and Benjamin and one fast guy with some talent and suddenly we have a good WR corp, with Zay and maybe Deonte as the 4-5. That would be ideal.
He's a competitor. He's fearless in the pocket. Bill Laimbeer of the Detroit Pistons came from a wealthy family and was one of the most hard working blue collar tough guy players in the history of the game. There is nothing to believe that he doesn't have the fire in his belly.
I think Bradford gets killed behind this line. Plus it allows them to think about an Allen more than a Rosen or Darnold. Although I guess Darnold could sit for a year. Bradford is either going to/demand to/want to play if healthy. He only has a few years in the league.
If they go McCown, which I would much prefer, it means Rosen or Darnold.
Tyrod. He's been a starter for three years and played pretty well under any circumstances outside of insane Bills fans. He finished with decent numbers considering all factors. He just got traded for the 65 pick. He's getting middle of the pack starter money. He got to the playoffs. That's "pretty well." And he has a strong arm but poor ball placement.
Plus the kind of passes they throw. I guy who throws a lot of screens and dumpoffs and WR screens is going to have a much better completion %. I think it's not really a good indication. A low one does have cause for great concern. A high one doesn't automatically mean highly accurate.
No, that's not the same thing. All I am saying is sufficient or good arm strength is more important than sufficient or good ball placement. If you don't have arm strength you cannot play. If you don't have ball placement you still can, and maybe pretty well.
But a player with good arm strength and great ball placement is much more desirable than a player with great arm strength and good ball placement. Which is what I think you are saying and I understand. But you have to have a good enough arm.
I would never imply let alone say that having arm strength makes you any good whatsoever. Like your JP reference. Frankly, I don't get the Josh Allen fascination either. Although I admit I have seen the other guys more.
All of them had sufficient arm strength. Brady has a pretty strong arm in the last ten years. One of few that significantly increased. Manning had quite good arm strength for 80-90% of his career. If he started his career with the arm he had at the end he never would have played more than one season. Montana had a good enough arm.
Arm strength. If you don't have it you cannot succeed in the NFL at all. If you have arm strength but poor ball placement, you can play in the NFL and it's possible that you could be decent, however unlikely. But you can play and even succeed. See Tyrod Taylor.
If you lack arm strength you cannot play or ever succeed.
Maybe they use that in the negotiations though. Maybe tell him, "We got rid of our jackass, and we're looking for a jackass to replace him. He was making total jackass money, and we're only willing to spend, like, half jackass money."
Doesn't seem to fit the Eagle Scout Syndrome but then again there seemed to be a legit rumor that the Bills were interested in Martavis Bryant so who knows. We need talent, that is for sure.
There is actually a new one up there right now.
