  1. Yep. It's not a bad deal at all, for both parties. A lot of ways it can go. The best part is that both McD and Beane know the kind of drive that Star has. That's key in free agent contracts. These two, especially, put football character up at the top. We as fans can be pretty sure he's going to give good effort.
  2. Just because he stinks doesn't mean I don't like him! Tyrod stunk a lot of the time. Eric Wood did. Even McDermott did and I liked them!
  3. Not sure why I got the raspberries, except for the fact you're a meanie. I'm on record in several threads as saying it's a good signing. I just don't want him to be the starter. He's just what we need as a backup, which clearly by his contract he was signed to be.
  4. I really like this guy. A terrific signing and something we need bad. Awesome attitude. Our DL should be damn decent. Our secondary should be very good. Now we need about 12 new linebackers.
  5. He's not supposed to be dominant. He can be worth all that money and more if he does what he was signed to do and allows others to be dominant. That's what he's here for. In effect, he's like an offensive lineman allowing a QB or RB to be dominant.
  6. Start with Wolverine. I think you will like him.
  7. I don't think he is a very good starting material quarterback, but I am very glad we have him, we paid what he is worth or less, and he's almost impossible not to like as a guy and human being and teammate. Well done, Mr. Beane.
  8. Good thing Brady Quinn knows next to nothing about NFL quarterbacking.
  9. Hue might believe that he is dead man walking if he doesn't improve dramatically in year one. So maybe he strays from the top three and trades down, then picks up more players that can help him this year. Dumb for the team in the long run but self-preservation.
  10. I predict Mayfield goes about 20. Wouldn't doubt if Jackson is taken ahead of him. Rosen, Darnold and Allen all in top six or so, although they don't deserve to be.
  11. I meant active roster. You have to cut him to put him on the PS as you know. I doubt anyone takes him so yes, he's a likely PS player.
  12. Am I crazy, or did Mike Rodak just make sense?
  13. I'm quite happy with the signing actually. He's just not any good as a starter. He's here to be a backup and he came dirt cheap, and it all but assures us of taking one of the top three QBs. I'm very pleased.
  14. I didn't really want any of them. I want a backup and not a bridge. That contract is dirt, dirt cheap though. Like in most anything, follow the money. He didn't get much play, respect, or cash. And it's because he stinks. But we just want him to hold a clipboard, or at least a surface tablet.
  15. No one thought he was any good?
  16. That just shows what the league thinks of him. He stinks. This all but assures us Rosen, Darnold or Allen.
  17. Yep. He will likely make the practice squad. I doubt anyone else will sign him. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to keep him (unless there is already an injury to AJ or Rookie). Not to mention that he is godawful.
  18. Can you be on the practice squad after you have been on the active game day roster for a full year? I'm not sure.
  19. They will only keep two QBs on the roster, especially with Joe Webb. There is less than zero reason to keep three young guys when you like the two other young guys a lot more. He's gone.
  20. Peterman is dead man walking. And unfortunately for him, barring injury, it's going to be on the eve of the season with no time to really catch on with anyone.
  21. Because he stinks? He's just not starter material. Never has been. He's career backup material, and now that he has a few years under his belt, he's a decent one in a league full of crappy ones.
  22. Awesome if he's the backup, Super sucky if he's the bridge,
