Bosch season 3 APRIL 13!!!
Kelly the Dog replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Bosch is excellent all around. Connelly had to pay over a million dollars and wait 12 years before he was allowed to do a series on his own character. But worth it. He insisted everything be shot in LA at authentic locations and it paid off. Great series. -

Gunner's 2018 Draft QB evaluations
Kelly the Dog replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great job, Gunner. Love when someone takes time, does homework, knows what he’s talking about, gives pros and cons, isn’t afraid to buck the trend or show any influence of others, and takes a stand. Tremendous post. Same to Bandit. -
Smartest thing Sammy ever said.

He's better than what we have. Some guys are freaks when it comes to age. It's not as though McDermott is going to forget that his MLB needs to be able to run.

Marshall Newhouse visiting Bills
Kelly the Dog replied to ytownblofan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is Newhouse as bad as Mills? I've never watched him close. -
We need three WR, with two of them better than Zay. I should qualify that with not more talented than Zay but faster and still NFL quality. We have Benjamin. That's it. And he's a huge question mark. We need a solid number two and we need a solid speed guy, even if he is not great. A Mike Wallace kind of guy. Ideally we will have Benjamin, a legit #2 in FA, a speed guy with talent on the cheap, and then Zay and re-sign Deonte on the cheap. But we need two or three new NFL quality WR, and one of them must be able to get deep and catch the ball. Like, say, a Goodwin.

Matt Barkley replaces AJ McCarron for Bengals
Kelly the Dog replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was ridiculous. However, it's really only because of his rag arm. If Barkley had even lower end arm strength he would be a solid backup and potential starter. That's why NFL men with actual NFL jobs keep signing him. They should, of course, realize that he cannot play because he cannot make all the requisite throws. Which is the only reason he stinks and will always stink, but can wow you in practice and preseason. It's incredible how dumb these people are. It's Peterman's issue, too. He appears to have a noticeably stronger arm than Barkley and it still is likely not enough. Fans often take the wrong approach on arm strength. They are quick to point out all of the QBs with good or even great arm strength who suck and then say, See? Arm strength is not that important! Accuracy and ball placement and anticipation is more important!" They are right but also wrong. A guy with limited or crappy arm strength can never succeed in the regular season NFL. Ever. He will look great in preseason and practice when the game is three-quarters speed, and he will get killed in the regular season when it is four-quarters speed. Arm strength is the most important quality a quarterback can have. But that only means "adequate arm strength." Not a cannon. If you don't have adequate arm strength you will never be good, Barkley doesn't have it. Otherwise, he would have been a top pick and still a viable NFL option. Peterman doesn't appear to have it either. -

Wow. Huge mistake. Barkley is not an NFL quarterback, even a backup. -
How Many QBs Will Go in the Top Ten?
Kelly the Dog replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still think only three. Rosen, Darnold, and Allen in any order. Four would not surprise me though. -
Holy $#!+ - looks like I'm going to the draft!
Kelly the Dog replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't want to outshine Josh. It's his day. I can't wait to get a Rosen jersey though. That way when he sucks, gets traded or signs with another team I won't have to trash it like my Bledsoe, Price, Evans, McGahee, Williams, Losman, Jackson, Spiller, Fitzpatrick, Taylor, etc, jerseys. -

Is Jerry Hughes worth a swap of ones with Tampa Bay?
Kelly the Dog replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have five QBs on their roster now, although the fifth is a nobody. After having to carry four last year and three the entire season, I'm not sure they are going to do that again. I doubt they are signing Bridgewater and then making him inactive, or Darnold/Allen/Rosen inactive. -

That was my first thought. Maybe they're trying to wrangle Rosens. -
Is Jerry Hughes worth a swap of ones with Tampa Bay?
Kelly the Dog replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hughes is easily the most underrated player on the team. He's easily the only guy who plays 100% every play, including the great Kyle. He's equally good against the run and pass. He is the only player that goes sideline to sideline. He sometimes rushes the passer and then makes the tackle 8 yards downfield on a WR. He's the only player who consistently tries to both make the sack or tackle AND cause a turnover without sacrificing the tackle. There is not a player on either side of the ball that tries harder than Hughes from snap to whistle. It's not even close.- 87 replies

DT Star Lotulelei to Bills!
Kelly the Dog replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But he is a pocket pusher. I would wager McD envisions him for that role more than a run stuffer. As I said above, Hughes, who actually had a great year and is likely our best defensive player, lost 2-5 sacks because there was no pocket collapser. You don't even have to get pressures yourself to be that guy. That is going to be half his job, maybe more than half. -

DT Star Lotulelei to Bills!
Kelly the Dog replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where is LABillz when you need him? People worry way too much about contracts. Every year on every team there are about one third that don't live up to their deal, a third that are about right, and a third that way outplay what they are paid. It evens out. And he is not a run stuffer only. In fact, his best attribute is a pocket collapser without needing to be a pass rusher. Last year, because we got no push upfront from the DTs on a regular basis, when Hughes would do what Hughes does, QBs would very often step up a yard or two and avoid him, then have a lot of time to throw. Star will muck that idea up, which is an enormous difference. -

I've given you a lot of guff over the years but I'm happy for you on this. Congrats. That must feel fantastic. My alma mater somewhat (spent my last year of five there) and grew up close, but you're a great UB fan. So enjoy it. Kudos. -
