  1. Yup. Cleveland did us a huge favor. Yeah I heard that but not sure how much stock to put in it. Could well be true. That would have sucked because the Edmunds pick was huge.
  2. Was dead wrong on that one. I still can't believe he went one. But the Browns will still be the Browns until they aren't. I don't think he's going to be great.
  3. I would have much preferred Rosen. Allen was four to me. But he has a ton of skill. I think he may start right away and I hope he does. I don't worry as much about the accuracy criticism after some looking into it. But his processing and decision making are what will make or break him. I'm on the Allen train because he's our guy.
  4. Elway said that the Broncos were all ready to take the Bills offer to go to 5 but Bradley Chubb fell to them and they never thought he would be there. So they took him right away. Wonder how much more, if anything we were willing to give up for Allen. I think it was likely more.
  5. Just curious how is it possible you can decide a player is an accurate passer based on one perfect throw. Accuracy is a stat and a quality and skill based on all throws.
  6. I also think Ballage is going to be a very good pro. I'd Ben happy with him but we have so many needs I'd be all over signing TD Mike, who I agree will likely be released. Shady, Ivory and Gillislee would be sweet without having to spend a lot of money or picks.
  7. You did blame Allen's low completion percentage to a poor offensive line and bad receivers who get no separation. The Bills have a poor offensive line and bad receivers who get no separation.
  8. I hope and expect him to start day one. Yes he's raw but I want no part of McCarron.
  9. Exactly where I am. Didn't like the pick at all but now he is our guy. I hope he's great. I'm on the Josh Allen train unless he goes off the tracks in a couple years. We need to give him some time. I don't expect him to play well this year but wouldn't expect that from either of the other three with this line and these WR. I expect him to start game one and the Bills to be a running team but let him air it out several times a game. We desperately need a speed guy now.
  10. I did say if they have a guy they love go get him no matter what. Why would anyone give up the farm for a guy they aren't absolutely in love with. If it were me, I would try to get Rosen and willing to part with a lot to get him. I wouldn't do that for Allen or Mayfield or Darnold. If they really love the guy, I'm all in favor.
  11. Beane has never drafted before. It is a skill and science like no other.
  12. Rosen, then Darnold or Mayfield, then Allen, then Jackson or Rudolph. I dont think any of them are more than 50-50 to be franchise guys you're happy with. I think Jackson and Rudolph are maybe 40-60. So I really wouldn't mind getting one of them at 12 and keeping the other picks. I think because we have so many holes, I don't want them to trade away next years number one. I like Darnold a lot but I think he's going to be a fumbling machine in the Mark Sanchez class. Mayfield is a huge gamble but he could be a star. If they absolutely love a guy, any of them, and it's fairly consensus between Beane, McD and the scouts, then they should go get him whatever it takes. I just doubt they love anyone that much. My hope is Rosen lasts through 5 or so and then we smartly move up to the right spot without giving away the farm. We absolutely suck at OL, WR, LB and QB right now. That's a lot of holes. Rosen, who is my choice, would likely get killed behind this line as he's the least mobile and our WR are not getting separation. So I don't expect any QB we draft to play well as a rookie and we won't know for about two years.
  13. I think it's pretty clear from the subtext that we may or may not do this, and we are DEFINITELY not doing that, unless we do.
  14. The Bills had a bad pass blocking OL last year, Carson Wentz would very likely look awful in his rookie season on the 2018 Bills. We likely won't know for more than a year if this guy, whoever he might be, has a chance to be the guy we all want.
  15. I almost hope they move up to draft a safety.
  16. I would be okay with that, depending on what we gave up. And it's a reasonable scenario. That said, I'm betting his dream completion percentage is not only worse than Josh Allen's, but likely in the 1-2% range. So it ain't happening. Thanks a lot for ruining my dream.
  17. Each of the top six QBs have questions about them. Even if we move up to the top two-four and get our guy, that likely means he is going to have a crappy OL and very limited WR. If it's Allen who almost universally is seen as a guy who needs some development, he may not even start. A lot can happen. If we get another solid WR maybe it's not an issue. But chances are, even if we get a top QB, 2018 is not going to be a huge year for that guy.
  18. He was an incredible player on those teams, overshadowed by Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, maybe Bennett. He did it all. he ran great routes, has great hands, was great YAC, got open deep, rarely dropped passes, fearless over the middle, won battles, would block, etc. His downfall was he was a hothead. It cost in games, especially a playoff game against Miami and the Redskins Super Bowl. But few WR produced or were better all around than Andre. Andre was probably better than his stats showed because very few WR do everything well. It's probably 15-20 all-time. But an argument can be made for 11-14.
  19. I'm torn on Mayfield myself. Watched a lot of him. I'm someone who thinks size matters and very, very few (okay, two) short guys ever rise above their shortcomings. I sometimes love his swagger and sometimes it scares me, little things that I don't know the real story about, like leaving to go to Oklahoma without ever talking to his coach, his dad like Lavar Ball (not that I think his dad has anything to do with him but he may be the entitled kid, which would suck). That said, I would be happy if the Bills drafted him because I trust Beane and McDermott enough as of now that they surely investigated all of this stuff and if they think his character is not a problem, I am all for Mayfield. I still think his size could be an issue. Everyone thought Russell Wilson's size would be an issue and they were dead wrong. Everyone also thought 50 other guys size would be an issue and they were right.
  20. Best possible realistic outcome for me, although I don't think it will be available, is Rosen falls to pick eight to nine, the Bills DON'T sell the farm to move up to six or higher, the Bills really like Rosen and have no concerns about his injury history (all other criticisms are nonsense IMO) and the Bills don't have to trade their other #1 pick or next year's #1 to move up three four spots so no one takes him before twelve. I THINK we are going to not be able to wait and spend a lot/too much to move up and get Allen, Darnold or Rosen. Another best possible outcome, which I think has about a 2% chance of happening is the Bills don't bite on a huge trade, Roquan falls to 12. We take him and then move up from 22 to take Rudolph or Jackson, who, to me, are a 40% chance of being a franchise guy and all of the other four are around 50%.
  21. I know for a fact that DC Tom is a Russian Bot.
  22. I did a project on Ruth a bunch of years ago and did a ton of research on him. It was a real eye-opener. A couple different books I read mentioned that phenomenon. It makes sense.
  23. He actually changed the entire nation that way. The idea that you can have it all and win with one big swing - or one big oversized chance and gamble - became an American phenomenon because of him. The term "out in left field" was because Ruth played right field and everybody wanted tickets in right field, so if you sat out in left field you were out of touch with what was going on.
  24. Yep. Babe Ruth was the most dominant player in any team sport ever. In his first few seasons playing in the field he hit more homeruns than entire teams. In 1921 he hit 59 homeruns, 44 doubles, 16 triples, scored 177 runs, 171 RBI, 145 walks, stole 17 bases and hit 378. That's pretty good.
