Start Allen from Day 1/ QB competition
Kelly the Dog replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say start him day one. Make him win it in practice but he should be able to. If he starts day one, McDermott, Daboll, Cully and AJ will all be working their ass off to teach him the game and what to expect. If he sits he just watched and the coaches spend 80-90% of their time on AJ -
Josh Allen, real football smarts
Kelly the Dog replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was really cool. Made me like both of them a small amount more. Josh handled it well. He's a likable kid. -
Bills UDFA signings & Rookie minicamp invitees

I expect BB to screw over Gilislee, know full well he is going to release him but not do it until the last minute or cuts to screw the player and the Bills, knowing they will likely want him. We still should sign him on eve of season. His agent should demand release now. -
Turning Point for the Pegulas
Kelly the Dog replied to napmaster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was right. You kinda heard right. They divided the lottery up into two parts. The first part was which three teams were going to have a chance at the top pick. The Sabres, even finishing last, had a chance to draft fourth. So you heard the radio guy say they won the lottery because they were one of the three teams in the finals. Plus, it's generally regarded that there were three stud players in this draft and by getting into top three we would get one of them. The second half of the lottery was announced almost three hours later. That was the order of the top three. And we won that too. So you kind of heard right. The NHL confused the situation not the intern. -
WR's who dropped like flies

Agreed. And if somehow he doesn't and becomes a criminal he can be represented by Hiermonyous Bosch. -
I don't want Allen just handed the job but I do want him in a competition to start and he gets the benefit of the doubt for two serious reasons. If McCarron starts the HC and OC and QBC spend 80% of their time with the starter during the week. I'd much, much prefer for that time to go to Allen. Second, McCarron scares no one. If he is the starter, the D lines up 8-9 in the box and takes away Shady. And we can talk run or throw. If Allen is in there they have to respect his arm and have to back off. I think and hope Allen starts the season as QB1.

Day 3 of draft rounds 4-7 let’s talk
Kelly the Dog replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No matter what you think about McDermott, he knows how to coach DBs. It's almost inarguable. Look what he did with all four starters last year. And don't think for a second that because he was the HC he didn't spend a lot of time with the DBs. -

Explain why we should trust McBeane on offense?
Kelly the Dog replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All of their allegedly good moves are getting rid of players and not acquiring them. They have yet to acquire a good player. -

McCarron is awful and his contract is evidence what the team and league thinks of him. It's embarrassingly low. -

To get a worse player in AJ McCarron. That's another move I forgot that is not inspiring, although he is cheap and hopefully doesn't play one play this season. -

Good point. That was another one. I do like the Chris Ivory signing although not sure how much he has left in the tank. Always liked him. He shouldn't. -

The offense regressed and then they got rid of a few more guys. -

Be skeptical? Not show blind trust? Hope they get better? It's a message board about the Bills whose sole purpose is to encourage discussion about them? -
Explain why we should trust McBeane on offense?
Kelly the Dog replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The exact opposite. I'm looking for reasons to trust them. I like them. I think we are on the right track. But their best decisions have been getting rid of talent and gaining draft picks and losing contracts. That's good stuff. But their actual offensive decisions have been universally awful. -
Do we bring in a qb coach/mentor?
Kelly the Dog replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a good reason to start Allen day one. -
Explain to me why we should believe that Beane and McDermott know a lot about offense? They got rid of Watkins. They traded for Matthews. They signed Kaelin Clay and then cut him and then signed him again. They signed Tolbert and then played him too much. They got rid of Corey Glenn. They signed DuCasse and then played him too much. They hired a lousy OC and then fired him after one year. They STARTED NATHAN FREAKIN PETERMAN who immediately had the worst half of football in history and then benched him after that half. They didn't re-sign Woods or Goodwin who both immediately played well. About the the only thing they did on offense that was decent was trade for an injury prone Kelvin Benjamin who immediately got injured. Just askin' for a friend.

Allen will start at WR for one trick play, immediately go to QB on play two for the rest of the season and then a few idiots will come on here and say he wasn't the starter.

They didn't play Groy over horrendous play by DuCasse and Miller.
