  1. True. But those are first names. If they were last names you may have a point. I would feel a lot better if we had a Schlomo or a Feivish or Mordachai somewhere in there.
  2. Even though they did draft two slot guys (granted in sixth and seventh round) it’s impossible to believe these three things simultaneously: 1) Beane bet his job on moving up and taking Josh Allen. 2) Brian Daboll built an offense specifically for Josh Allen. 3) That offense is built around a lot of quick short passes to slot receivers like NE.
  3. Not sure about faith being a prerequisite but he clearly hates Jews. Passed over Rosen and not one Himmelfarb or Finklestein on the entire 90 man roster.
  4. I think perhaps lock means they aren’t going to cut him. No one is a lock if you include trades. But I doubt we would trade him either because I doubt we could get anything whatsoever for him. A guy who dropped everything who had a bizarre psychological incident in the off season is not hot on any team’s list of priorities.
  5. I could see that. But it would be, in that scenario, someone like Banyard or Cadet taking over the Taiwan role, which is the #3 Rb and still a need in your scenario.
  6. He’s no good at it though. he’s terrible tracking the ball 20 yards downfield. He made 90% of his catches in college as the equivalent of the slot guy.
  7. There are three spots. Last year it was Shady, Tolbert and either Cadet or Taiwan. Cadet is back. Tolbert has been replaced by Ivory. If Ray takes the #3 RB spot he has to be a RB the majority of the time. I doubt they do that. To me it’s much more likely he’s the #6 wr who they line up at RB a lot and throw him passes out of the backfield, put him in motion, run jet sweeps, give him pitchouts once in a while. I like that idea. But it’s not the #3 rb spot. If Shady is hurt you don’t want Ivory or Ray Ray as your starting RB
  8. He’s terrible. Our pass blocking sucked regardless of statistics. Our run blocking mostly sucked, with Shady’s extraordinary skills overshadowing how lousy they were as evidenced by the amount of times he was tackled immediately for a loss or at the LOS. It wasn’t because he danced. He danced because there was NO place to go.
  9. It would make the team slightly better but there is no reason for it. The best idea for the team is to keep two active QBs on the roster, AJ and Allen. If you add a vet you have to keep three active and now you have to decide between three QBs who is your starter.
  10. Yep. I didn’t forget about Kerley but you’re right I should have mentioned him. To me, only Benjamin and Zay are locks to make the team. The third most likely guy would be Kerley. He used to be pretty damn good. Now not so much but decent. Compared to the rest of the league our WR are terrible.
  11. Let me put it this way: Jim Kelly was effusive in his praise about Reich and AVP. If Kelly was really worried about either of them taking his job, he wouldn’t have been so effusive in his praise about Reich and AVP. He was never in danger of it despite some fan’s calls for Reich later in his career. Montana didn’t help Young at all. Farve, Marino, Elway... none of them were known for being teachers to guys that could take their jobs.
  12. I thought so too.
  13. I think Proehl has some talent. I think he has a decent chance to make the team. That said, what I don’t think is going to happen is Ray Ray, selected ahead of him, Proehl, and zay all making the 53. I think they are going to use Ray Ray as a Wr, RB, gadget guy, but I don’t think 6 wr are going to have 3 slot guys which is pretty much what McCloud, Proehl and Zay are.
  14. I don’t think teams will care if AJ is our QB. I think they will spend all of their time and resources on taking Shady out and make McCarron beat them deep. I personally don’t think he can or will. The best thing the Bills can do for Shady and their run game is to start Allen day one. I hope and predict they will. Wouldn’t bet on it. But imo it’s the only thing to do to win games this year.
  15. Yeah. Cowart was not short at all. He was the perfect size at the time and a monster. Fletcher was an incredible player for his size. A Sam Mills. But Cowart was a stud before his injury.
  16. Not really. Mike Wallace may be cut and I never loved him but he’s the kind of player they need. A lot of it it depends on what their plans are for this year. If they think AJ is their starter I don’t think anything they do matters. And the year is a wash. I think Allen starts day one. Then a speed guy is a necessity. Although, that said, you sign Dez and suddenly the defense can’t load the box and stop Shady. They HAVE to worry about Benjamin, Dez and big ass arm Allen.
  17. The Browns are an enigma. We have no clue how their line is going to perform for example. They are potentially really explosive on offense. If Josh Gordon is back, the WR corps of Gordon, Landry and Coleman is scary. Tyrod could play well enough to keep mayfield on bench just because Hue is fighting for his job. This will be interesting to watch. Im a Tyrod fan and I think the Browns should start Mayfield. They are going to look pretty good if they start Tyrod. It will be tough to bench him.
  18. Daboll is by far the biggest factor in this signing and why there is hope he makes the 53. For a guy that didn’t do much Daboll surely convinced Beane That Foster has the talent and Foster surely didn’t blame Daboll for his lack of field time and production as a senior at Alabama. Individually each of those things matter. The fact they both exist together with the signing is significant. He has a real chance. I think we are going to add a veteran speed WR that takes one of our spots. If we don’t, I think we go into the season with Foster on the roster, Ray Ray because he serves multiple purposes and Proehl on PS.
  19. In Day One of rookie mini camp the reports were that Daboll was attached to Allen’s hip on every play, the way it should be, and everyone here thinks that’s a good idea. During the regular reason the OC is attached to the starting quarterbacks hip on virtually every play in practice - read McCarron - to prepare for the next opponent. The backup gets few reps and is an observer. If hes not the veterans think you’re not trying to win games. Why waste that coaching on AJ. Josh should have to beat McCarron out in practice, which he should, and start from game one, just so he gets the coaching he needs.
  20. The Bills have been in existence 58 years. I have been a fan most of them, since a little kid in '64. There have been IMO only two years in those 58 where the Bills were the best team in the league. 1991 and 1980. One could argue 64 and 65 they were the best team in the AFL. But that’s not the NFL. In our four Super Bowl appearances we were only the best team the first year. The second year the Redskins started 11-0 or something like that. They were a better team during the year. Both years we played the Cowboys they were the better team overall and during the season. We could have won any of those four years but only the first were we the best team. The 1980 Chuck Knox team we were the best team in the league. IIRC, in the regular season we beat both teams in the previous Super Bowl and both teams in that years Super Bowl. Chuck Knox was arguably the best coach the Bills ever had, including Marv. We lost him in the strike year 1984 when Ralph wouldn’t pay him enough.
  21. Yep. Dez would be the best thing that could happen to our running game, as well as Josh (who I think starts right away).
  22. I ordered it online. It was from Store716. Not sure if they have a storefront location or not. It took about ten days to get across the country from the day I ordered.
  23. I couldn't have been much more impressed by that interview with Josh. Aint easy to be humble and super confident. He really handled the questions well. Coaches must love him and I can see why they were enamored. He wasn't my first choice but I am all in until he proves otherwise, and just got my "Allentown - Est 2018" tee shirt.
  24. If that were true, and it significantly hurt his ability to catch the ball, run patterns, track the ball, make plays, break tackles, etc, it was treasonous that he didn't tell the coaches that his injury didn't allow him to be a bona fide threat. I think that is an excuse for his poor play. Sure, guys play with injuries all the time, and it may hurt their production. 85% of a great player is still a very good player and warrants being on the field. But his was close to zero at times. if it really affected his play it was incumbent upon him to get himself out of the game.
