  1. At first I thought this was just the title of the sequel to the great French new wave auteur director Eric Rohmer's 1971 masterpiece, "Claire's Knee." I assume that's also what most people thought.
  2. Nuff not needed to be said.
  3. If you just saw stats the game would not really stand out to you. If you just saw analytics it would look different but just tell a different story. If you just saw highlights you could say that's how he always plays, a couple wow plays but little else. If you watched the entire game you would have a completely different perspective and say, wow, the kid really looks pretty good. If you watched the whole game, plus the replays and different angles and some all-22 you say Holy Hell, this guy can really play.
  4. It matters because at this point in the preseason you need at least three QBs. If AJ is day to day there is little or much less need to sign a new guy. If he is week to week there is a much greater need to sign one quick. If he is out 4-6 weeks with a hairline fracture it's a must.
  5. McD had to do that in the 15 minutes the press is there. If he had Allen in there would be dozens of tweets and stories about Allen is now #1 and he really doesn't want that today. I am no fan of Peterman but if I were McD I would have trotted out Nate with the ones for the 15 minutes, too.
  6. For an unheralded fifth round pick, Milano played quite good last year. If you want a highlight reel, Milano had some extremely good plays. He wasn't really that good overall though last year and was wildly overrated by the fan base IMO. Was hoping for a big jump in his second year but it hasn't happened yet. He still has time but I like that McD and Frazier are not just handing him the job.
  7. That mental toughness will serve him very well when he finds out that he is never going to play.
  8. Ten million. Less than eight guaranteed. That is very low end backup.
  9. I can see that happening. And then McD has to go back to his team for the second time and apologize, and say I made the same mistake again. The one thing I don't tolerate in you I am asking you to do for me.
  10. The first play of the game was a pick six the defender dropped. Defenders will be jumping routes all game long. High school coaches can figure him out. Guys like him can succeed if not excel in practice and preseason because the speed is not the same. They cannot succeed when the real bullets fly.
  11. Missing one pass means you're inconsistent? I know you said there were others but he was quite accurate and consistent from start to finish.
  12. Very true. However, many guys fail because they lack the talent, the smarts, the attitude, and mental toughness, the physical toughness, and the coaching. He seems to have all of the first five of those. We don't know about the coaching yet, although Daboll seems good so far, and we don't know and won't know if he can process defenses fast and efficient enough under fire for sometime. He has a lot going for him though, especially the pure talent and attitude.
  13. It means something because he groomed both of them, presumably the same way, and has compared the two himself in certain ways they are similar. Of course they are not the same player. It would be very interesting if they both came out the same year which one would have been drafted higher, or if the Bills would have wanted Wentz over Allen. I don't know the answer and couldn't guess. The Bills fell in love with Allen as a guy almost as much as a player and prospect and now I can see why. And not saying anything wrong with Wentz at all. I like him.
  14. Carson Wentz and Jake Allen had the exact same HC in college, Craig Bohl. Bohl left South Dakota State and went to Wyoming.
  15. It didn't go through his hands but it was a very good pass. He alligator armed it and should have caught it. He thought he was going to be hit I assume. I like KB and he's one of the keys to our offense this year but that effort was weak. It was an excelllent pass by McCarron though.
  16. Easy. Because it was exactly the right length, and he threw it long, so Foster was the only one that could catch it he just threw it one yard too much to the left. It wasn't a good pass because it was too far (one yard) OB, but he threw it 60 yards and hit him in full stride. That was the obvious point. I didn't include it in the good pass category. If you don't know the difference between being able to throw deep, and throw over the middle and throw the deep out, I don't really wish to discuss football with you. Those are three separate things. There are many quarterbacks who can "make all the throws" and can't throw well over the middle. We had one the last three years. There are a lot of quarterbacks who can "make all the throws" but can't really throw the deep out well. Fitzy was one of those. He can get it there he just has to wind up and put everything he has into it so it allows the Dbs extra time to get there. We haven't ever seen Peterman throw a big league deep out with enough velocity. Ever.
  17. Yep. That's why you should never use a set of spare keys. If you lose the spare set you no longer have a spare set!
  18. Dogs and cats living together! I also agree with Maj.
  19. Those are all different things and qualities and some guys can make some of them but not all of them so they are totally different criterion.
  20. Okay, so... Josh Allen has played exactly three-quarters of one football game. In those three quarters, he has thrown two insane TD passes, should have two more (the bombs to Foster), has not turned the ball over, has showed the ability to throw short, medium and deep, left, right and down the middle, has an absolute cannon, has been accurate, completed passes on the run, rolling either way, and from the pocket, has had two two-minute drives and they scored ten points on them, has shown a great ability to avoid the rush, has scrambled/run the ball very well, shown terrific mobility and straight line speed, and strength, has known down and distance, has called audibles, showed great confidence and good command of the offense. In three !@#$ing quarters! SO LET'S SIT HIM!
  21. Totally agree with that. But to me, you cannot start Peterman because you are worried Allen may make mistakes. Peterman is a master craftsman of mistakes.
  22. Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I just think that if McD has another momentary lapse of reason and starts Peterman, it won't last much longer than it did last year when they start seeing CBs jump his weak out passes, see him getting crushed under pressure because the OL can't pass block, and see teams put 8-9 in the box most plays and take Shady out of the game, daring Peterman to beat them consistently with downfield passes. It's going to get ugly quick. He had exactly one of those in each game. By his second throw he settled down. And the Texans were in the same boat last year and made a huge mistake playing Savage, who is awful, instead of Watson, who may not have been completely ready but was better than awful.
  23. The Browns have a ton of talent, especially on offense. But they have a crappy head coach and two !@#$s as coordinators, which will probably keep them from winning as many games as they could. They also have a last place schedule.
  24. He's already improved on his bad habits. Not got rid of them of course. And NFL game experience is really what separates men from boys. There have been ten plays already, in his three quarters of play, that showed he had an awareness of the rush on him. He's not taking off so early. He's looking downfield when he can as he runs. The TD yesterday was extraordinary versus an immediate heavy rush. He's mostly setting his feet well when he throws.
