I've taken to saying "Did you know that O'Leary's grandmother played lacrosse at Yale?"

On 600 catches?

I'd rather have Britt McHenry. Just to say, "I had Britt McHenry."

Exactly my take. A lot of folks here thought it was a terrible idea to play him not because they hate Nate as a guy, just because they didn't think he had the tools. And it showed. Glaringly. It was a catastrophe. He had to start again in the Snow Bowl and he threw a great TD pass. That was awesome and helped the team. But there wasn't anything in that game where you could count as evidence of an NFL QB. Because of the weather, everything was thrown out the window. His deficiencies then reared their ugly head in the playoff game when he couldn't get the ball to the WR quick enough. Again, glaringly. I don't understand why that is so hard to see.

While that was a good throw and I agree with you, it didn't show that he has the arm to get the ball to the spot quicker, or wasn't mostly a one read QB, or could stay in the pocket and handle a strong rush. Those are his real deficiencies, and that if he doesn't improve substantially on he cannot succeed. The one thing we all knew about him was he could identify his target pre-snap. make a quick decision, and get the ball out quick and accurate on a short pass. That's the one thing he does very well and did in your example.

Like I said... Sounds delish though.

1. Take out plate. 2. Add garbage.

He should have. That makes sense. Although if true, he should have used the video of Allen throwing to KB, Zay, Kerley, etc.

Plus it was just the skeletal and individual drill throws, which is all the media is allowed to watch in their 15 minutes. Just dumb by Bove.

Yep. Again, I was hoping that this was what they were going to do, and to me it was the obvious thing to do. They made a really good decision to let all the twos and all the threes have as many reps as the ones, which not all teams do. That allowed the QB competition to be on a more fair playing field. My greatest fear, which I also said a bunch of times, would be that NP would fool them in practice and in preseason the way Trent Edwards did. Guys with rag arms CAN play very well in practice and in preseason because it is played at 3/4 speed. The death knells are not death knells, and even good coaches can get fooled. That's what happened with Chan and Trent, as well as other coaches around the league with guys like Kellen Moore and Colt McCoy, etc. Those guys can never succeed with any consistency in the regular season. McD had already been fooled last year by Nate and allowed Dennison to talk him into NP starting. It was a catastrophe and he had to apologize to the team afterwards. Nate did play very well this preseason but in only 1/3 of the field. Thankfully, Allen excelled, and it appears that McD wasn't bamboozled.

I'm not sure how much you can believe McD in his press conference (meaning any coach, I like him a lot), but it makes me feel better about him that this was somewhat of the plan all along. I always thought and said it here dozens of times that he was playing Nate with the ones as a reward more than an actual chance at the starting job, and much more importantly, that he wanted Allen to win the job in front of his teammates rather than just being annointed the starter. I was hoping this was always the case, and I expected Allen to be starting game one right from the start, back in OTAs. If you take McD at his word, this is what they planned on, too, and Allen did his part of the bargain. It was smart to do it this way, and they did it right. Even with Peterman doing what he did, and to some extent McCarron doing what he did.

Ravens will be without top CB Jimmy Smith week 1

For a couple months. Then they will loathe Pees and think the one coach of a unit that has good stats will be a huge upgrade. For a couple months... -
What is Cris Carter Talking about

I didn't see the segment but I assume it's Cris Carter. -
The Human Slow-Motion Replay.

Perfect! The shortest distance between two points is top speed!

That's a horrible idea. What time should I show up?

I wasn't as down on EJ as a lot of others he just wasn't very good at anything. He did make some nice plays at times but I thought he got nervous in the pocket and when guys were in his face and that was one of his major downfalls.

No.
