  1. If the Pats or Vikes ever get a guy who couldn't beat out Robert Foster for a roster spot on a team that has one legit WR, either of those teams could be good this year. You heard it here first.
  2. That's exactly how I see McCarron.
  3. That's a good point. I can easily see a Chan Gailey / Trent Edwards situation here. Gailey is a very good offensive mind. He inherited Trent and they signed Fitzy to be the backup. I always thought Edwards was awful but there were some that thought he was good the year they started 4-1 or so. He wasn't, he still didn't do what he couldn't do, but that's besides the point. Gailey watched Edwards in preseason and in practice and saw him play very well. He made the right decisions and he knew the offense and he moved the ball. And Gailey, because like all coaches has a bias ego, thinks I can be the guy that can make chicken salad out of chicken ****. And in practice and preseason at three quarters speed guys like Edwards and Peterman can and do excel. So he starts Edwards and immediately in 2-3 games it becomes glaringly apparent that he can't do anything other than read presnap, make a quick decision and throw an accurate short pass. He can't get the ball downfield and he can't handle a real rush with real bullets flying, the same attributes and the same problems with Nate, although Edwards has a lot better arm than Nate. So Gailey benches and even cuts Edwards outright because he realized he couldn't play in this league. I think there is a decent chance McD does the same thing. Starts him because he thinks he can do in the regular season what he did in practice and preseason, realizes quickly that he cannot, and then benches him rather early. It happened at halftime of week one with Tom Savage last year.
  4. Yeah. There were a lot of those. Complete busts don't usually last six years in the league. And someone will probably sign EJ to be a backup. Friggin' Alex Tanney is on the Giants 53 as of now.
  5. Oh I know you meant Daboll. I was just saying that the only guy above him may not. There is a long history of good coaches not seeing that a guy cannot play in the NFL. Matt Leinart had no chance of ever being good in the NFL (because he was criminally slow in every thing he did and he had a rag arm) and he was a #1 pick. Matt Barkley has zero chance. He's exactly like Peterman. Smart, quick release, very accurate, good attitude, good football IQ, he just can't throw the ball hard enough. And yet teams keep signing him (now he's hurt and no he's only thought to be a backup). Kellen Moore. Colt McCoy (although his arm is a wee bit stronger than those guys). It's incredible to me these guys don't see as you said what is right in front of your eyes. It's Trent Edwards Syndrome and he had a much stronger arm than those guys. We hope Daboll sees that. But we don't know. Even if they start Nate the first couple games we won't know for sure. There are a lot of factors involved.
  6. Not sure McD does. But I'm not sure he is all that smart about offense as a whole. Love his defensive mind. You'd think it would transfer to offense too but it often doesn't. Most everyone regressed last year on offense. I know it's not all his fault but he has say in coaches. And scheme. And a big but not final say on roster.
  7. Only if the NFL has an official Piece of Schitt list.
  8. I always thought so but I am biased against Peterman until I see he can make the throws he needs to. The real unknown is what does Daboll really think of both Josh and Nate at this point in time. I imagine, if he's smart, he will know that NP can't make those throws.
  9. Alas, the deal fell through. Remarkably, a bunch of other people have been trying to make it forever. Ha. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.indiewire.com/2012/09/hollywood-still-trying-to-make-a-mr-ed-movie-for-some-reason-105673/amp/ They made a TV movie I think about 15 years ago.
  10. Looks like most of the guys they wanted. Two more spots open, right?
  11. Me too. Always did.
  12. They must or they simply wouldn't have done it. Hauschka is one of this teams most valuable players with this offense
  13. He's also risky on quick slants. I think he's the most inaccurate on those of all the passes he throws, regardless of velocity. That's why I think he's a disaster waiting to happen against first teamers in real games.
  14. Bills signed Marlowe to PS. And Cam Phillips. Both just reported by NfL draft diamonds, which/who is pretty reliable.
  15. Am I crazy, or do his dreads look like they went through a woodcutter and then some pumpkin or squash?
  16. It comes from the Latin phrase, "Lightus inthe Loafersus."
  17. He's a number one WR in the league. Not elite. But a genuine #1.
  18. Years ago my manager and I were in a meeting with Al Ruddy on a project of mine. Ruddy produced The Godfather, the original Longest Yard, and won an Oscar for Million Dollar Baby. He went on this 30 minute diatribe with my manager, who was pretty young at the time, about how you had to choose the right projects because you have to put your heart and soul and blood into them, and they would take two years out of your life and you better make sure it is the right one because the most important thing in this business is your passion and your art, etc. It was beautiful. Powerful. I was almost in tears. Then I asked what he was working on now and he immediately said, with a straight face, "The Mister Ed Movie, you know, the talking horse."
  19. Right. I totally agree with you. The Scouts must love this guy. But again I just think it must be from college tape versus what they may have seen in a Pats practice setting. I sure hope hope he's good too. Although as you say, if he tanks there are some seasoned vets always available.
  20. And eight of 'em you nailed!!
