  1. Not necessarily. He may be Dolphins at home ready not Ravens on the road ready. He maybe ready is Nate stinks ready but not ready if Nate is great ready. There are levels and variables to that term. There is no such thing as "knowing" any rookie QB in the NFL is ready. If he doesn't throw any picks but we cannot run and he cannot throw the ball downfield and we cannot score that is a disaster without being like last year, and worthy of benching, and just as likely as being like last year. The biggest reason to play Allen is the run game not the passing game.
  2. I read earlier today that the Giants? (whomever signed Davis Webb to PS) gave him the same contract he would have had on their 53. I wonder if the Bills would be willing to do that with Lynch. Not his old contract but the vet minimum 53 man roster number for his third year.
  3. We don't know if Allen is ready, we don't know how close the guys that matter, McD and Daboll think Allen is ready. They may think Nate has a long leash. They may think he has a short leash (which is my opinion).
  4. They are the same concept. No real reason to keep them except for P, PR and KO, and even then I would take the roster spot with a player at that position or another position, versus how much better those two are than their replacements would be. It made sense for a guy like Easley who actually stood out and made a lot of ST tackles. I just don't see the stellar play out of Holmes and Jones that is any kind of difference maker.
  5. Name me one play in preseason where he showed that he could throw a hard enough out pattern that was his issue last season? Name one play where he showed in preseason that he has overcome his lack of arm which is the one reason his doubters have doubt. How can you say it has no bearing when A) he hasn't played with real bullets since, and b) he never showed it with rubber bullets this year?
  6. Reports are that yes, in two of three throws he did hit the broad or length side of the Adpro. But he refused to try to throw and hit the end or width sides of the building, obviously a much more difficult throw.
  7. You're addressing a different thing though. You said he read defenses better and he didn't. Yes, it is more efficient to do what he did. You may be right that he is better equipped because he reads presnap and makes quick decisions with the ball that he can run this offense better (I disagree but for different reasons), I was only saying that a) you cannot say he has better grasp of the offense if he only uses a small portion of it, and b) just because he makes quick decisions and gets the ball out does not mean he reads defenses better. All it does is show he knows his limitations. It is arguable as to whether that is the wisest. In preseason I would argue yes it is, as evidenced. In regular season, I would argue that cannot work, as evidenced by Chargers game, and post season game. Mop up time and snow game is impossible to make any judgment on that.
  8. McD loves special teams. He kept at least three guys just for special teams that aren't kickers or holders, Holmes, Jones and Lacey, who weren't needed at their regular positions.
  9. We kept Logan Thomas over Nicklaus O'Leary. Thomas has a very hot wife.
  10. He didn't show a clear ability to know the offense better or to read defenses. Josh looked off more guys, and went to his second and third receivers more than Nate did. Peterman is a one read thrower. He read defenses presnap. Josh read defenses post snap. Josh also ran more of the offense.
  11. Not if you looked at it a different way, which is an equally important way. Peterman did not show any real ability to get the ball downfield. Or to back defenses away. Allen showed a clear ability to involve the entire field, to throw left, middle and right, short, medium and deep, rolling left or right. He showed a better ability to run. He didn't throw an INT or fumble. He didn't have two pick sixes dropped.
  12. Benjamin, if you count Carolina. But it's a good question. Maybe Clay. And considering that the front office, for good or bad, got rid of all our playmakers outside of Ahoy McCoy! I'm not sure it is fair.
  13. It’s not likely to happen but it’s a distinct possibility. Peterman could be benched at halftime even if he threw zero interceptions. If the Ravens put 8-9 in the box, press the WRs, take Shady and run game completely out of the game, and Nate can’t ever make them pay for it, he could and should be benched. Again, I’m not betting this will happen. But I’d say either of those scenarios have maybe a 10% chance of happening.
  14. Those were some great plays. When I saw the title I thought it was going to be about a 15 second clip. It was over two minutes. I thought maybe I was missing something in him. Then I watched and it was five great plays in two years. Hmmmm...
  15. Oh I know. I was joking. We are in trouble at OT, too. Mills stinks. Dawkins was hurt a little and was good not great. Backups either stink or untested.
  16. He was a pretty good and willing blocker as a WR.
  17. I have visions of McDermott screaming at and trying to motivate a piece of paper with his roster on it.
  18. That is what's known as a ringing lambastement. Translation: Paxton has all the tools, he just a dumb, meek, slacker with a bad attitude.
  19. Yep. That's kinda what I mean though. In this workout I can't imagine he doesn't look pretty good.
  20. Should have covered your ass and said 0.01%. You !@#$ed up.
  21. It's curious how a guy like Murphy who looks so good and has been around for 5-6 years never really played.
