  1. You can’t face your owners and tell them we’re starting the worst QB in the league, and have no chance of winning, because we’re afraid our prized rookie being hurt by our terrible OL coached by our terrible OL Coach because our terrible WR can’t get open, and our prized RB can’t run, because our terrible QB can’t get the other team to stop putting 8-9 in the box.
  2. He was never any good at this. He was always a one read guy. Sure you can find a play or two out of a hundred but he rarely if ever did things people here said he did or even was good at.
  3. Aldophus started his career out slowly, and then tapered off.
  4. Right. And yes, there was what I consider to be a subtle political message. But when I first heard about them doing an ad I thought it was going to be way more in your face.
  5. Yep. I don't know if it is a good idea or not. They obviously do. I liked the ad itself, and the fact they didn't make it political. But I wouldn't buy Nike because of it, nor not buy Nike because of it. I look at it like the Patriots. They have been great for a long, long time with their decisions. Not all of their decisions are good nor are they bad. But it's usually not too smart to bet against them regardless of whether you love or hate or are indifferent to them.
  6. I see it now. I read it that it was 31% from last year. You are correct. Still a decent addition.
  7. I saw this reported in numerous places. https://people.com/sports/nike-sales-increase-colin-kaepernick-ad/ https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/what-boycott-nike-sales-are-31-percent-kaepernick-campaign-n908251 http://time.com/5390884/nike-sales-go-up-kaepernick-ad/ Perhaps it's wrong.
  8. The 32% was in the short time from when it was announced until now, so it was a direct correlation. That is what it has done since. And of course it's not like that wasn't debated at length
  9. Yeah, for bitter old white guys like you, bud. They obviously played this all out. Their sales jumped 32% from this time last year since. A lot of people will not buy them you are right. But they want young diverse urban kids buying them and clearly they thought this was going to help, not hurt. It wasn't a political move (meaning sales be damned I am making a stand) they think it's good for their brand. And from their existence they have been a marketing company, and very good at it. Stock will go down for quite some time. That's true.
  10. The Jets are the Jets until they are no longer the Jets, which may indeed be this year, but we have seen and thought that before.
  11. Martha Firestone Ford is considering Patricide right about now.
  12. He's done it twice already when he should have known NP wasn't worthy of starting.
  13. I don't think you can say that when both of the games he was historically bad in, about a third of the way in he looked like a deer in head lights and was panicking, which led to worse play.
  14. Yep. And McD was harping on just that when saying how far Nate had come.
  15. No they're not. They're horrible on all three units, too. Can't run or throw, can't stop the run or pass.
  16. I think most people are just funnin. It's a solid performance for sure. Jet fans should be thrilled. Personally, I thought that Darnold would be very good if he wasn't a turnover machine, which was an issue. He looks like he tightened up his throwing motion. He really gets it out fast and doesn't seem to drop it as low as he did in college a lot. I feared (or hoped) that his hitch would cause some easy strips by defenders behind him in the rush but he looks to have cleaned it up a bit. He fumbled a lot in college.
  17. Yep. That pass that was almost intercepted kept a different Jet from fumbling and losing the ball. All three points on that five yard scoring drive are a direct result of spectacular rookie play by Sam Darling.
  18. I know. He switches jerseys so fast, he's like David Copperfield.
  19. This is becoming hilarious.
  20. It's a bunch of crab apples.
  21. Matt Cassel is Nolan Ryan compared to Nate. What a return that was.
  22. What I like about him is he sets a good example.
  23. I think we can all agree that Josh looks better than Matt Stafford, so there's that.
  24. Stafford looks awful and Jets D at least looks what it was expected to be the last 12 years that is hasn't been.
