Josh Gordon to be released-now traded to PATS
Kelly the Dog replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nathan Peterman and his squeaky clean attitude is worthless at the NFL level too. That's why they can just be on a zero tolerance policy with him. He's not going to ruin the team or locker room. If the one out of ten or twenty possibilities hits, we win the lotto. I wouldn't bet on Josh Gordon. But the Bills are a better bet to win with Josh Gordon than without him because our WR are the very worst in the league. -

I didn't complain about Watkins or Clay and only mildly about KB. I want star players. I don't mind taking flyers or minor risks which this would be. -

No, they kept him all this time and gave him 100 second chances partly because he was so good and equally because they knew he was not an ass. Dorsey is new. Probably said I have a zero tolerance policy and he did something. We don't know what it was yet. It's possible it was very dumb but not certain. -

I read a lot about him and I think that way too. I used to think he must just be an idiot until I took a deep dive. He's a really interesting guy and not at all just a jerk or worthless addict. -

Someone is likely going to trade for him if five teams immediately called to ask about him. It surely won't be much, but the Browns will probably get something. -

That makes Gordon the best receiver ever, and shoots your whole theory. -

He did catch a game tying TD pass last week late in the fourth quarter after not playing at all in training camp or preseason, from a guy you think cannot throw a pass, so there is that. -
Don't you think he needs to play at least one full game before he leapfrogs John Skelton?

"We loved Josh. He did everything we asked of him. He was our best WR. But it was a numbers game." -

He played two full. Two of five games. One of one game. And one completely missed for suspension. But Schefter labeled him a vested vet, and he is usually right about these kinds of things. It's strange for sure. Leave it to the NFL to have some bizarro rules. -

I'm not sure if he is a FA or not, but vested veteran has to play four accrued seasons I think. Gordon has played two. Two other years he played in five games but that doesn't qualify I don't believe. -

He can mentor Zay, KB, Foster and Ray Ray. -

It’s a movie, and equal opportunity offender. -

Good point. You may be right. I would still do it. Lay down the law. You have one chance to do what you need to do. -

I think but I'm not sure that it goes to this season after three weeks. Right now it is last season's. I could be wrong about that but I think I read that a while back. -
Zay Jones has to tell KB where to line up?

Zay Jones is going to tell KB to line up on the bench and watch Josh Gordon. -

WR as a whole and most of the best ones are DIVAS. I have said this a bunch of times but I can't think of any team in any sport that won anything with a bunch of boy scouts. You can sign him and say we have a zero tolerance policy for this entire year. No screws ups or you are gone. If you play the whole year we reevaluate. He's also the perfect player for Josh Allen. -

I'd take a shot unless there is a suspension coming. McBeane would be heroes if they make a reclamation project out of him, and cut bait early if it doesn't work out. -
Denis Leary.

Dimarco only played one play because of how the game played out. We got no first downs in the first half. A bunch of penalties caused long down and distance, so passes became a necessity. We never got a running game going and by the second half and Josh came in we were passing on virtually every play and the ones we didn't we were in passing formations and the defense was expecting a pass. It's not as though he wasn't part of the game plan.

Of all the QBs that played in the 80s and 90s when the stats were not nearly as good as they are now because of the rule changes, Young is the highest rated passer of all of them, plus the best scrambler and runner. And even better than Manning who played in the recent era. Plus he won Super Bowls. There is a good argument for Young being the best ever because he could do everything very, very well. Could pass as well as the best passers, and he could run better than them.
