  1. I would call it more like a plastic folding chair gm.
  2. You mean except that he emphatically said that of course he really wants to play in his first interview here. But go ahead and say he's a liar and you know he doesn't really want to play because, well... just because you say so.
  3. Every player in the entire league thinks they should play and wants to start and play as much as possible.
  4. Both the Bills and McCarron said publicly that they want him to help Josh and McCarron said he is happy to do so. The Browns and Taylor and Mayfield all said publicly that Tyrod was there to help Mayfield and show him how to be a pro on and off the field and Mayfield went out of his way before Tyrod was benched to say how great he has been to him in that regard. So you can go on believing whatever you want.
  5. You didn't know Jughead was from the south?
  6. He was awful. And might still be if McVay didn't come to town. Besides, why would praising him or waiting be "productive?"
  7. What exactly is wrong with praising him when he plays well and badmouthing him when he plays poorly, and predicting whether or not he will look good or average or bad or great in the mid, near or far off future? It's what message boards are for. It's what fans do. It's not set in stone, it's a fluid opinion. The only thing that may be wrong about it is saying you know this is how it's going to be when you don't, good or bad. To me its like people complaining that you're innocent until proven guilty in this country. That is actually only in court. People should be able to voice and change their opinions about guilt or innocence on places like message boards based on what they know or think they know at the time. It makes for some great discussions. If you're ill-informed then it will show. A moratorium on deciding whether you think Josh is good or bad until the end of the season seems like a way to make the board a more boring place. It's okay to change your mind on things like rookie quarterbacks.
  8. Taron Johnson looks quite good but there is a long way to go. In general I totally agree with you. Terrible trade idea. I will also say that GMs value draft picks way too much. They can pick up proven vets for third and fourth round picks and they don't. It makes no sense to me. It's a crapshoot to begin with and after the third round it's worse than a crapshoot.
  9. Practice squad to starter and then cut In four days? PS to active 46 sure because of emergencies, and then a lot of them stick for a couple weeks I'm not so sure there are many that went right from activated Saturday to starter Sunday to waived Tuesday.
  10. It's implicit that if you have a veteran QB on your team there is no need to bring in another one to "mentor." The Bills knew they were drafting a rookie and they brought in McCarron as a veteran. Then they just traded him which was stupid. The Jets knew they were drafting a QB and they re-signed McCown specifically for that role. The Browns knew they were drafting a QB and they specifically brought in Tyrod to start right away and mentor Mayfield. They said it publicly. The Cards knew they were drafting a QB and they signed Bradford as the vet for one season. The Bears knew they were drafting a QB but ( stupidly) signed Glennon who had already played three years to be the veteran so they wouldn't have to start the rookie. The Rams had Keenum and started him so they didn't have to start the rookie Goff. The Eagles had Bradford and Chase Daniel who had played six seasons when they drafted Wentz but they traded Bradford when Bridgewater got hurt. The Bills were the only team that didn't have a veteran around to help the rookie. Mettenberger and the Titans four years ago was a good answer of a team that didn't, and while I wasn't thinking specially about them, I knew that once in a great while it happened so I said "virtually" every team. And every single one of them is also there to mentor the rookie. Some do it begrudgingly.
  11. I wonder how many players have ever done the complete "NFL around the world" in less than a week? Marlowe went from PS to 53 to 46 to starting 11 to making a couple plays and back to waiver wire in four days.
  12. In the All-21, everyone on the field thought it was going to be a kick.
  13. That’s right. I knew he was a Bill. Thanks for that. And damn you for making me remember the guy and the pick.
  14. Didn’t we sign him at some point? Who was that?
  15. No. It’s exactly the point and you know it. You argue just to argue. Of course no one brings in a veteran to mentor a rookie IF THEY ALREADY HAVE ONE. The point is obviously virtually everyone has one. If you don’t you bring one in. See how that works?
  16. You. Gave. One. Good. Example. Mettenberg. And in that situation they had a young offensive minded HC who was in charge of grooming Mariota. I said it's virtually done everywhere. Which it is. There are dozens and dozens of examples of it over dozens of years. It's done and known by "virtually" everyone. Which it was brought up as an aberration and a ridiculously stupid one when the Bills didn't do it and started the season with only Nate. I would imagine you piped in with how crazy it was.
  17. Well then he knows what not to do, dummy.
  18. Not a chance he was brought here to play barring injury after watching that (or before watching that for that matter).
  19. But with the all whites we can't be seen on the yard markers and sidelines, and if we turn sideways, the hashmarks. It's like stealth fighter jets.
  20. Now that he knows Derek Anderson is here, Shady is insisting on a no trade clause
  21. My least favorite. If we wear the white jerseys they should be with the white pants.
  22. If you watch the interview 26 linked to what Anderson had to say today I defy anyone to come out of there thinking he was brought here to play.
  23. Josh has to work after practice with Anderson to learn stuff like getting the ball out quicker because during practice the QB coach has him learning the route tree and catching with his hands and not his body.
