POLL. Derek Anderson chews out reporter in 2010
Kelly the Dog replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Peterman threw the interception last week several of us watching it were simultaneous laughing and pissed as all hell. It was so ***** awful it was funny. It was so ***** sad it was funny. It was so ***** predictable it was funny. If a camera was on us several of us could be seen laughing. That doesn't mean we thought it was ha-ha funny. I was furious. People express stuff in different ways. People cry when they are happy, too. -

Yup. Very close friends. Work together at times. Actually met him here on TSW when he was still in film school years ago before he moved to LA. Great dude. Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes. Nope. Although that is who I wanted us to draft. Because then I could buy a jersey and after he sucked or we didn't re-sign him the jersey could still be worn. The Eddie Murphy Donkey for sure. And the offensive line will obviously feature Sleepy, Dopey and Grumpy. -

NFL worried about Chargers viability in LA

It was rockin' in the first home game of the year against the Sabres on Tuesday. It also has about 12 million people, about 10 of which aren't doing any of those "too much else going on" things on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm. -
True but I don't think that is the point. It's more about managing big egos. Jackson had to deal with Jordan, Rodman, and Pippen at the same time. Three completely different guys and egos who needed different kinds of coddling and criticism. And Jackson was great at that element of the coaching profession that is often overlooked. I think it was Del Harris who was coach of the Lakers who had a bunch of stars and couldn't get them to play but pretty soon after Jackson took over the Lakers were dominant.

Thanks for the link and nice words. But you're not Spartacus! He doesn't have one. I should have! Ha. I didn't think of that. A lot. And often. One might say a sot. Although I prefer Irish and Canadian. No, practicing. And it's quite a regimen, especially on Sundays. And the world is a safer place. It's been too long JiP. How about a pilgrimage to Busby's for a game this year? Much obliged, Gunner. And to SDS, who recommended it. It's fun to do, although I have to censor myself a bit. Apparently one cannot swear in newspapers, online or otherwise. Who knew? -
Well, that didn't address the post you replied to. Beane didn't draft Peterman, nor did he decide to play him. That is all McDermott. So we have to worry to some degree if McDermott is the right guy to be making these decisions about offense. What we don't know is what Beane thinks about Peterman. Hopefully, God help us, he just let his coach go with it this early in their relationship even if he disagreed with it. Otherwise, we may be in trouble with these guys regardless of McD's clear understanding and coaching of defense.

Exactly! Give it to me.

The difference in the Trent fooling Gailey situation is that it is understandable. Trent had the arm. He could make all the throws. He shined in practice and preseason doing things that translate to the regular season. What he couldn’t do is handle the pressure literally and figuratively. Which became evident in regular season (it’s arguable that Chan should have seen that from previous seasons tape. I never thought Trent was good either). Nate lacks the physical ability to play in this league. He NEVER showed that in practice or preseason because it doesn’t exist. People here knew it to be true. McBeane should have seen it.

He backpedaled and it was barely a hit. More like a shoestring tackle.

Why is trying to escape a sack on third and 12 to try to get a first down instead of giving up possession by throwing it away or 8 yards short of the first down “trying to do too much?” I agree with the criticism in general but don’t at all agree to use that play or plays like it as an example.

One of my pet peeves is talking about plays like this without context. I think you're absolutely right about the Benjamin pass. The Watt sack, while yes, it is on Allen, context is needed here, too. Sure, he could have thrown it earlier and avoided the sack. But what he couldn't have done is thrown it earlier and likely got a first down. It was 3rd and 12. I want him trying to step out of that sack on 3rd and 12 and not giving up the possession. If it's second and 12 or 3rd and 6 it's a different story. He thought he could escape and he almost did. But I don't think that is such a bad attempt or decision. I hate giving up on a play on 3rd and 10+ unless you are in FG range.

Yeah I wouldn't have traded Dareus for a crappy draft choice either. -
They gave Peterman first shot with the ones. They gave him the first start. They gave him more time with the ones in practice. They gave up a huge amount for Josh and everyone on Earth, including Kiwi Aboriginals, knew we were drafting a QB #1. There is less than zero chance they promised McCarron a job. You're a reasonable person in this madhouse. You know that is true.
