Any offensive guard in the league could have made those two throws.

TNF week 9: Final Battle of the Bay? The Bosa Bowl?
Kelly the Dog replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said a couple weeks ago that Derek Carr looks more like David Carr than Derek Carr. Kind of like Stephen Miller looks like I look when I look at Stephen Miller. -
Those are simple passes. And he should have an INT already. Peterman would be doing this and I hate Peterman.

Peterman would have two TDs by now. -
Damn. Dr. Z was a legend. RIP Z.

They had the playoff game against Jax when he couldn't throw the out pattern and it got intercepted. I don't count the snowbowl because no one could play a normal game on either team and especially the speed of the game was slowed to a crawl. He couldn't have shown sufficient arm strength in practice because he doesn't possess it. It's impossible, not something because we weren't there we cannot know either way. And again, IMO the problem is assuming he suddenly gained the abilities he didn't show before when no matter how many short, quick decision, accurate throws he made in practice and preseason that he made, he wasn't showing the 4-5 things that he cannot do well enough.

The problem with that and what they did was, even in the other games since the Chargers debacle, there was NOTHING in what he did do that alleviated the issues he had in the Charger game. He didn't show any more up to snuff arm strength despite some reports that he had a little more zip (we could see it in the games), he didn't show better ability to throw the ball downfield, or avoid a heavy rush, or throw accurately on slant patterns (there were a few bad ones and a few good ones, which is not an improvement). So even though he was completing these passes in practice and preseason he wasn't showing anything we didn't already know about him. Granted, some of his shortcomings could not be shown in preseason and practice because it is not full speed with real bullets, BUT, that also doesn't mean you should assume he can now do something that he previously could not do. They should have assumed he COULDN'T since he wasn't any better at the other things. That was the problem. I had posted in the offseason and OTAs and training camp that my biggest fear of all was that the coaches would be hoodwinked by Peterman in training camp and preseason because that is when he COULD shine, but he cannot in real meaningful games.

Some terrifying Bills offensive comparisons

It's truly incredible. We have 68 legitimate passing attempts this season. -

So we kept him for four years when we knew he wasn't, and then got rid of him just before we knew he was? -

Someone tweeted yesterday that the best QB and the best WR in Buffalo were on the Bulls and not the Bills, and perhaps the best two WR. I know it is someone of a dated slam, but the QB and WR is actually true right now. -
Most definitely worse now. Ferragamo at least had a good arm and actually had one great season in the NFL. He threw for 30 TDs one year, quarterbacked a team to the playoffs, and even started a SB game. Mathison was godawful but not in the Peterman scale. Barkley would be pretty decent if he didn't have a rag arm, but alas, he does. Me and my friends used to say something was "Pulling a Ferragamo" if you ***** over your friends, family or team right when they needed you most. IIRC, there were three QBs on the Rams roster one year, including Ferragamo and Pat Haden and maybe even Jeff Kemp? Ferragamo wanted more money after his almost MVP season. The Rams didn't want to give it to him. And then on the very eve of the season both Haden and the other guy got hurt or couldn't play, and the Rams only had one QB for the season opener, Ferragamo, and he decided to walk out and hold out for more money. It only lasted a short while and they only caved a little but I think he got more money. It was one of the biggest scumbag moves of all-time as I recall.

I don't think management should give af what we think. But they should give af what they think. And what they think is scary af.

WR Bruce Ellington released by Texans

The human hamstring injury. But would be our 3 or 4. -
McDermott, with Beane, decided that a player with no arm was viable in the league as a backup. He's been the worst player in league history to date because he cannot throw NFL passes. That has been shown time and time again. Today they are considering bringing in another player just like Peterman, whose death knell as a player in this league is that he is a turnover machine because he has a rag arm. He's just like Peterman and has been released by numerous teams because he's just like Peterman, and his 8-18 TD/INT is indicative. In fact, he was a 4th round pick for exactly the same reasons as Peterman was a 5th. Both were known for being smart, accurate, quick release throwers but weren't highly regarded because they had rag arms. McD and Beane should have known first hand that this kind of player cannot succeed. They have seen it with their own eyes three or four times. And yet they still have kept Nate on the team. And now when they need to get an emergency guy in here who may have to play right away behind Matt Barkley 2.0, what do they do? They bring in Matt Barkley 1.0. That's scary for our future from our decision makers. Whether Barkley plays a down or not.
