  1. I'm not sure how much you have watched him in his career. He's very capable of good games. He has a BAD arm, which is why he was drafted in round four and has been released by five different teams. He showed it today. He should have had a couple picks. He threw about three extremely weak out patterns which was what killed Nate. He's just like Nate only slightly smarter and slightly better arm. But this has been his history. He's not even a good backup. At all. Before today he has a 63 passer rating, 8-18 TD/INT. And that is with a few 300 yard games and games like today. I LOVED watching the game today. It was awesome. He played great under the circumstances. But he has no oomph in his passes so he is doomed to failure. If he had a better arm he would have been a #1 pick and likely a good to great starter in this league. But it's terribly weak for this league. You could see it on about 10 different passes today. Great pass. That is one he can make with the best of them in the league because it's only ten yards.
  2. You guys are nuts if you think that this is the kind of game you usually will get from Matt Barkley. He really shouldn't even be thought of as a solid backup.
  3. "Donkey Kong Williams."
  4. Barkley played well but it needs to be put into perspective. He got great blocking. About 90 of his yards and two of his most important completions he just lobbed the ball up in the air and Robert Foster timed his jump and caught the ball, something he hadn't done before. They weren't bad or great passes but Foster makes the play on both of them. If he doesn't, Barkley looks completely different. He threw two TDs. One was an excellent pass from ten yards out. Really nice. The other was a gift that any player on the Bills could have made. The Bills racked up 200+ yards on the ground. That helped him tremendously. He did well and I don't want to take it away from him. But this was a team win and team offense. He got a ton of help all over the field.
  5. Exactly. Don't ruin the rest of your entire career by actually playing!
  6. Barkley should walk into McDermott's office and demand that Josh Allen start against the Jags so he can be thought of highly by Bills fans for the rest of the season.
  7. The rag arm was on full display all game. He's Peterman 1.0 but with slightly better rag arm and smarter, which allows him to have games like this. But this is not who he is, this is the good Barkley. 80% of the time he's the Bad Barkley.
  8. The Bills are bringing in Billy Joe Gunrack to mentor Benjamin.
  9. Today was obviously the aberration for this offense, but for the defense to be atop the league in yards given up considering the overall sucktitude of the O in 80% of the games is pretty amazing. McDermott can coach defense.
  10. You can't understand him, you can only hope to contain him.
  11. Allen will start against the Jags.
  12. He avoided some defenders after the catch for the first time in his career for a few extra yards, seemed to know where the first down marker was, which he normally doesn't, and definitely seems like he has regained his confidence so he rarely has the yips. That's extremely encouraging. His best game for sure.
  13. I didn't mean that they never did any of these things. But while most of the time when there are games like this I am one of the first to say the play-calling didn't change just the execution did, this game to me had a different feel the entire way, right from the start, mostly because of the infused speed, and partially due to the fact Clay was out and they only had two TEs. But they went with 3-4 WR much more with quickness on the outside which created some openings in the middle of the secondary, much more jet sweeps and fake jet sweeps, more trickery, more max protect, and much more unpredictability. The tackle eligible was a great call.
  14. Bomb on first play. Jet sweeps. Tackle eligible. Unbalanced lines. Max protection then go downfield. There were a lot of different plays.
  15. That's really an incredible thing to say.
  16. Who knew that speed could help?
  17. Several guys you wouldn't ever predict, of course. Daboll called a great game for the second time this year. Foster and McKittrick and Zay. Shaq and Hughes. Barkley and Shady. Milano and Edmunds.
  18. Barkley had a fantastic game today, hats off to him, and he deserves huge kudos. But he also showed that he still has the rag arm and he cannot have continued success in this league, which was the reason he was out of it. He should never be considered a possible starter. He can do what he did today, sometimes, by being smart and accurate and having everything go well for him. But don't mistake this game for Barkley being good. He's not.
  19. Glad that we have a week off. He should be back, and hopefully he didn't hurt his arm bad, too. He's getting very good.
  20. McKittrick looked better than Mackenzie, that's for sure.
  21. I'd like to see it a couple games in a row or at least a couple games the rest of the year but today was very encouraging on about three different levels. Still doesn't run good patterns but tracking the ball and timing was a big plus and surprise. Will be interesting how they use him the rest of the year. He surely has skills.
  22. One of the best and most amazing stats in Bills franchise history. Kudos, PR!
  23. He looked pretty good as the gunner on punts a couple times, too, not counting his fake punt catch.
  24. He tries harder when Josh is in there. Those two long balls he caught including the one he caught on the play Allen was hurt were 100% effort and nice plays. He takes plays off then too. It’s bullshhit but he just gave up.
