I think that $16 was Brick's base salary. And Bortles also has a base salary of $16m. I don't think that NFL teams can take on partial salaries of players like you can in the NBA and NHL but not sure about that. We have enough money to take on the 16m and not have it affect our salary cap virtually at all next year in exchange for a second rounder.

I think it's almost certain even though there was a report of a vote of confidence in him before the game yesterday. If he doesn't get fired then Coughlin will have to take a large portion of the blame and he ain't gonna do it regardless of whose actual fault this mess is.

To me it's impossible to tell because of Marrone who is an offensive coach and wants a certain type of style and demands conservative power run games and three TE formations and punts from the opponents 40. I'm not saying Nate is any good at all, but I think Marrone runs that offense and style and game plan and forces his stupidity on Hackett.

Although it hasn't been announced, a lot of Jets fans I know said thanks a couple weeks ago because losing to the Bills like that is sure to get Bowles fired. This week we get Nate fired. Next week maybe we embarrass Gase so much that he gets the ax. He has a head start by calling draws on two straight late 4th quarter draws on 3rd-10 that got stuffed and lost a 10 point lead

They do but they have so much money they could afford to cut out 10m for an extra second round pick. That's like a day one starter. And one you have cheap for 4-5 years. Yep. Teams didn't used to make trades like that very often if ever. But I wouldn't doubt some team makes it. Bortles is awful but he's as good as half the backups in the league. He's better than Matt Barkley, however much Bills fans would refuse to believe that.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Get Aboard the Josh Allen Train”
Kelly the Dog replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. Plus when you are playing against a team that racks up 220 yards rushing your own offense loses about 2-3 possessions, which would easily be 5+ additional attempts. -
Looks like one of those Brock Osweiler trades coming up. You guys give us a second round pick and we'll take that guy and part of his salary with it. The Bills should consider this with all the money we have. Would you take a #2 pick and Blake Bortles to be your backup and pay him 8-10m? That's like buying a #2 pick for that much money. I'd consider it. We need a talent upgrade.

[Name Only Title] Wyatt Teller?

I don't think any of the linemen played particularly well yesterday. The RBs had no holes and the QB had no time to throw. Josh deserves a ton of credit for no sacks because there should have been 4-5, he got crushed on a few others, and at least three of his runs were because guys were on him immediately. -
His real name is Isaac McKittrick. His parents gave him the nickname Isaiah McKenzie a few weeks before he was born. Game Balls for Josh, Foster, Kyle, Hughes, Milano, Poyer and Bortles.

And it only took 44 years and 11 games this season to figure out that NFL teams can use speed in that process.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Get Aboard the Josh Allen Train”
Kelly the Dog replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree with that. It's referred to as dancing but it is not the same thing. Plus, on the plays that he does reverse field and make 5-10-20-30 extra yards, people expect him to know the exact time to do it and when not to, which is a ridiculous standard. If he took the 2-3 extra yards on those plays he would have the breakaway runs he has. He gets terrible blocking for the most part. -
Dropped passes is somewhat of a stupid and even useless stat unless you see about 25 clips of what the Drop Analyst calls a Drop and Not a Drop. I would argue that no more than 25% of "drops" are clear drops and all others are arguable drops, including and especially plays that the pass was tipped right before it gets there, plays where the defender tomahawks the ball as soon as it hits the WRs hands, plays where it would be a spectacular catch if he's makes it but got two hands on it, plays where it is behind and low over the middle, etc.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Get Aboard the Josh Allen Train”

Nice call on Fournette and Shady. If McCoy got the exact same carries that Fournette had, I think he goes for about 150 and two TDs. Yes, Shady dances. Yes there are several plays a game he could pick up 2-3 extra yards. But he rarely gets holes. If he got the holes that Fournette did on about 5-6 carries, he's off to the races on 3-5 of them. -
Bills claim WR Isaac McKittrick from Seahawks
Kelly the Dog replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there is a 50-50 chance he will be cut within a year. He lost the ball twice yesterday. Sure, the first time he was clearly down, but the second time he got a lucky bounce. The knock on him is that he is wildly fast and skilled but can't hang onto the ball. If that continues he will be gone regardless. Here's hoping he figures it out. Some do and some don't. He's surely got quicks and skills. -
I'm encouraged by Josh. He's going to be around for five years at least barring major injury imo because he is always going to have wow plays. Barkley is a terrible backup despite the Jets game, although there aren't many even decent backups in the league. Not sure Anderson will want to play next year. So overall it's pretty good because we MAY have a star.

There were quite a few plays they only sent 2-3 receivers out with no checkdowns. He also escaped the rush a lot. No sacks in this game with that blocking was an overlooked element to his play. He really had a very good game. Those 2-3 way off the mark passes out of the 22 or so he threw were aberrations. He was very accurate most of the game.

We have seen the crappy Foster who cannot track the ball and drops a lot, and we have now seen the splendid Foster who does track the ball and makes terrific catches (including the excellent second catch yesterday when getting drilled). He also made a diving catch earlier in the year. Hard to know if he is going to be that mostly inconsistent guy or that usually reliable guy for some time. But he has great size and speed, he tries, he blocks, he's a good gunner on ST... there is a lot to like about the guy. The next five weeks should be interesting. A whole off season knowing he will likely be part of the offense, working with Josh, knowing the system, etc, could be fun next year.

If there is a World Market (or Cost Plus World Market) their house coffees are great deals. As good as Starbucks to me, for half the price. It's always $9.99 for 24 ounces and quite often on sale for less. All different kinds, too. French Roast is very consistent and good, and I'm a coffee snob. I think you can buy it online, too.

He's unbelievable. So many tiny things. Hockey sense off the charts. Little passes off the boards to teammates or himself. 90% of passes are right on the tape. Just takes the man out perfectly on D all the time. Shoves guys over. And he's just getting used to the league. It's insane. I didn't think he would be this good this quick and he's not really even scoring or putting up stupid points yet. Not to mention as good an attitude as is possible. His best game tonight but like you said he's just scratching surface.
