  1. TE, OG (OT if Dawkins becomes OG), DT, CB and EDGE if Murphy can't stay healthy. Sure we have players that can start but all of those “starters” should be number twos on a playoff team. Granted, IF, say, Johnson stays healthy AND lives up to his potential AND plays solid in real games for long stretches, he could be off the list but we can't bet on it.
  2. He was drafted by the Rams.
  3. You don’t need to prove it. An eyewitness account is not “proof.”
  4. Rodak is not a great writer, not original, dynamic, entertaining, a two-source old school reporter, he doesn't break stories, ask biting questions, not creative, not funny, not a deep researcher, he doesn't seem to have deep contacts, he's not prolific, and lacks flair. I love that guy!
  5. He picked one play out of 800 during the season, a play they didn't look to or throw to him, to prove that he could beat coverage to the middle, while admitting that his coaches chose not to ever do that the entire year. Wtf?
  6. Finally watched it all. That video was so convincing that I would take N'Keal Harry.
  7. The last time this was the case, right before the Bills pick I turned to my friend, AKC, and said, "You know what is great about this draft, no matter who they choose, I am going to be happy." There were ten guys available at that spot all of which would have been solid choices. And the next thing I heard was, "With the eighth pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select, Donte Whitner, safety, Ohio State."
  8. Yeah, I don't see him taking that deal. Somehow he will worm his way out of if through money.
  9. No, it's one: Ritchie Incognito. One word.
  10. Some guys are injury prone because they are brittle. Some guys are injury prone because of their style of play. Some guys are injury prone because they don't take care of themselves and their bodies. Some guys are injury prone because of their body types and the position they play who cannot withstand the punishment. Some guys are injury prone as their body breaks down because they are older. Some guys are injury prone because they are just unlucky. None of the first five "seem" to be the case with Murphy although I don't know for sure. Here is to hoping he has some good luck.
  11. One word: Ritchie Incognito.
  12. This is a good point. To some degree, both McDermott and Beane's careers at this stage, and with the Bills, is directly tied to Allen playing well and becoming a franchise QB for 10+ years whether they are still here or not. If Allen plays well, they are never going to suck, and if he turns into a stud, the team could excel. The best way for that to happen is to give him a lot of weapons, and a good TE can do a world of good. Granted, a great defense helps a QB in a lot of ways, too. But there is something to the perception is reality element to this. If Beane nails the QB pick he is going to have a long tenure here. He may not consciously make decisions based on that and just load up on offensive guys with disregard for the defense, and to some degree this is McDermott's team, but it could be a factor.
  13. No chance in hell that spicoli passes a drug test.
  14. He was already signed. They just decided to give him a raise when they didn’t need to. He wasn’t going anywhere and still would have led. That’s what the bad man said.
  15. While I normally like Z as a scout, it’s bothersome to me when I read reports like this that seemingly only use comparisons to all other receivers. Harry is a unique guy. He’s enormous. Of course his feet are not going to be as quick as most WR. You don’t want him bending as much as you would a smaller guy. It’s like saying Jack Eichel doesn’t move his legs as fast as other skaters. He doesn’t. But his long strides make him the second fastest skater in the league (during all star week). If you watched Harry game in game out he does everything you want. I think he still goes in round one. I'd love him on the Bills (not at 9 of course) and I think soon you would too.
  16. I think you’re probably right about Cook. Don’t agree that Carr is entirely blameless. Yes he made the right read, but it looks to me that he had time to see Cook wasn’t running or paying attention and threw it anyway. That is not blameless despite Cook’s intolerable pattern. Watch it again. It’s also a terrible pass. He doesn’t move his feet at all when he had time. He lobbed it. He didn’t throw it out. And the DB was right there all the time. It was a horrendous pass.
  17. I had read right when it happened they added three years to the three years he already had left, at about 19m per. Maybe that was wrong. Edit: just looked it up. You were right. They ripped up the old one and gave him a new one. He gets $30m guaranteed when he had none with Pitt in the next 3 years. My feelings remain the same though. I bet the Bills balked at that demand.
  18. He didn't get very good money. More than he was worth, and way more than he was worth in retrospect, but he didn't get a ridiculous contract at all. In fact, it was an extension for 4m a year, not a FA contract. He took less than he likely would have made on open market. Maybe you are thinking of Cameron, who signed with the Dolphins after Clay signed with the Bills but it wasn't a huge deal either.
  19. I think the guy just needs some cuddling and a chance.
  20. He really does. Will be fun to see what Antonio acts like when they lose and he is getting crappy balls thrown to him. He doesn't know how good he had it at Pitts.
  21. Not to mention that Carr was looking right at Cook, who had already loafed and stopped, with his back to the ball, before Carr threw it. Granted, sometimes it's impossible to tell from replays on things like that, but Carr just threw it without seeing Cook, and could very well have blown up because he knew he blew it, too.
