Bills have shown interest in Lavonte David.
RichRiderBills replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Comparing him to Edmunds is moot now. That being said...David's a baller and on field leader. He'd be great for the D for a couple years. -
We had to be under cap by Wednesday. Don't think it means a lot...I mean it was either today or tomorrow. I think they will make a couple moves but not a big sign of anything huge.

I'm not totally sure the Phins got drastically better, I'm sure they will bring in a slew of new PB caliber faces, and jettison young talent or others they picked up recently. Difference is they got a pretty good coach...but i thought they did before as well.

Imagine if you will...an ego big enough to not post this in several of the other threads...but a thought so profound it needed its own thread for no reason.

Robert Woods to Texans, 2 years $15mm

I thought players cut after the SB were not able to sign. -
Diggs unfollows Buffalo, follows Cowgirls 🤷♂️

Look I generally agree, but he visibly says crazy stuff on the sidelines and has had out with coaches. Oh, and he already turned on one team and spun up toxic relationship w a solid playoff type team. -
https://billswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/02/pro-football-focus-buffalo-bills-offensive-line-rankings-dion-dawkins-mitch-morse/ I don't agree. Dawkins had mediocre grades. My thoughts on the eye test was he allowed a lot more pressure this year, likely compounded by other issues on the OL. I'd think saying he was steady Eddy this year is a bit rose colored view. Additionally, I thought he looked slower and not in great shape this season. The whole line was problematic and strong data supports that. I'm not saying dump him. I think that's too much to take on for next year . But does his future factor into what Bills do at RT? I think it could, especially for a project LT that could replace Dawkins in 2 years or so.

I agree here. Just so wary of our ability to fix OL w draft. Beane has missed on so many high OL picks. I think a lot of people are hung up on Spencer Brown...but I take it a step further....what is our long term thoughts on Dawkins ? For the cost, guy was lousy and may be eating himself out of the league.

He lives in Broward County, where the property tax rate is 2% , and the Cost of Living is still significantly higher than Buffalo. Again, your just addicted to your own narrative. Cost of living includes many items, with several tax rates, but again, your too lazy to look that up. If the crux of your argument is he doesn't have to own a second home ...fine that would be true for any team....anywhere.

The defense was extremely productive with Von. Then, we treaded water well for a few games with Groot playing solid and some weaker opponents. Secondary and team got healthy. I think the vulnerability only came late, where the DL could not maintain consistent rush and Groot lost steam. I still say turnovers were our defense biggest issue. Offense put them in bad spots. This whole season is thrown off by the aberration that is the Bengals game. I don't know why our DL had no push and got dominated. I don't have the answers for the soft coverage.

This is the silliest take ever. Straight silly bro. Give me a break.

My big problems with the D are scheme specific. Soft loose coverage bad coverage sets in critical situations. That and generic problems that eschew of not practicing fundamentals enough; tackling high, poor form tackling, loss of gap integrity. I don't know what the hell fully happened vs Bengals at the LOS though.

You are getting some shade, but I think when you factor we need a MLB and a new strong safety , w head coach. Plus, seeing the issues we had after Von went down , you are not wrong. Lots of huge questions about how Tre bounces back, Von, the DTs DEs, yes...we are not good to go. We will need to make some moves and have a great off season. MLB should be the QB of the defense and we are headed into the league year without.

What's the true blue evaluation on Edmunds? God only knows. We are told he does so much, that his length and height are so crucial in what we do. Solid in coverage. But the eye test for me at least, is a guy who is middle grade, a guy who guesses wrong and makes some gaffs that cost us big. He does not get picks, does not get sacks, Meh ..that's a weak comparison. Fletch was a mighty mite. He gets tackles as folks drag him 5 yards down field. He was not young and not the physical specimen Edmunds is. He had the same issues in WA. It was no loss for Buff. I think with Tremaine, your still factoring in that young age and the potential in the contract. I don't pay big LB bucks for a guy like Edmunds. So many have said it. He's a coverage guy. I think whoever gives Edmunds his big deal is going to use him a lot different. Honestly, Micah Parsons comes to mind.
