There needs to be a thread of the officiating today
RichRiderBills replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here was my summary from 2nd half thread...thought I'd post here: A few calls I'll note: - 1st TD was no good. Zay's real time TD seemed to show significant bobble and jostle out of bounds that was cut off in all replays. Play did not seem to be reviewed. - Want to add the hands to the face on the Bills that extended that early drive was also ticky tack. - The jags 3rd down completion that was clearly an incompletion. No football move was completed, yet the terrible call was reviewed and mind numbingly upheld. A back breaker. -Kincaid 3rd down catch (2nd or 3rd drive) that was clearly a conversion, but called short. Mind you stunningly not challenged by McD. - A half a dozen holds on the Bills that were ticky tack. I thought most those Torrence holds late were bogus. Most of these had no replays , and if they did nothing stood out. -Several PIs that were ticky tack. - No call on the clear bat out of bounds on the Bills onside kick. It was obvious. It is a rule. - Just want to say that I think Hyde's defenseless hit PF "could" have been called. But again, a ticky tack call in a crucial down, given the movement on the ball. Just don't recall a game with such poor officiating. It was too much yellow, and 75% of them did not need to be called.- 104 replies

I am frustrated by today. But I want to keep folks positive. D is going to take a hit but will get Benford back, hopefully Ford can be a viable fill in for Jones. Offense is healthy. A bunch of AFC teams are 3-2 We still go out and beat teams we should beat and we are looking at like 9-2 going into the tough part of the season.

Yes, each drive was a mix of them making good plays on 3rd down, AND some bogus or ticky tack call The initial Zay TD was bobbled out of bounds and no catch. Terrible non call, w replay cutting out the bobble.

As an aside.... Just want to crap on the final sequence. I know game was mostly over. But ... :30 seconds to go for 40-50 yards for a shot at a hail Mary is doable. Why we threw over the middle hook and ladder type crap that early was yet another dreadful call and plan. Just shook my head. We've moved before on better teams....c'mon man.

Buffalo / Jacksonville 2nd half game thread
RichRiderBills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would not go so far as to say fixed, but it was supremely sculpted. It was not till the Bills were well behind the 8 ball that any calls went our way. Not to mention booth and TV crew lacked replays of many of the calls, or cut off replays before the proper perspective. Kurt Warner seemed the only guy not in on the deal. Zay was still bobbling the ball out of bounds. Replays cut out before. Terrible roughing call. No replay of Oliver hands to the face.... This game starts to stink. -
"body clocks off" sounds a lot like all those 1st round draft picks the Commanders had.....or that 70 Burger the Phins put on the Broncos.
-
Give me a break with the Chiefs. I'd say we have them literally 20/22 better players on their roster.
-
Yes, 63 catches would surpass Kelsey and make him a top 5 all time productive rookie TE . People just need to stop being douche bags and research some NFL history.
-
Attempts. They are giving him the rock and he's a tempo runner.
-
He's on pace for like 65 grabs as a rookie TE2 and that would make him like a top 5 all time productive rookie TE. Seems to be a decent part of the offense. Oh but "He's not Laporta" ....

Week 4, Bills favored by 3 over Dolphins
RichRiderBills replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
This one is huge. Like I said, Bills miscues and some protection gaffs leading to strip sacks/ fumbles have been the biggest reason the Phins have kept our McDaniel era games close. This is the best line we've had. I'm confident this will really cut down on their ability to pressure us. -

Fins have a gimmicky team. The gimmick won't work all the time and their team will never win a Superbowl like this. I do believe the "smoke and mirrors" that has elevated the play of a very weak OL will be exposed by better Defenses like the Bills. Bills are a well rounded, solid football team playing at home in a difficult environment. Bills have owned the Dolphins the last several years, even the last loss was a flukey 22 game , where the offense had nearly 500 yards, but made several bone-headed miscues in Q4 that cost them the game. I like Buffalo here. I feel the Bills D-line will be a huge reason for the win. They'll get some pressure and limit the run. I think they will still gash us now and then , but the Bills will keep it contained and stave off bleeding. Longer more methodical drives by the offense will add to keep Miami O off the field. I expect the crowd and pass coverage to knock off Tua just enough to open up some mistakes by Miami. The Bills have almost always moved the ball against the Phins D with ease, and I expect that to continue. The Online has been tested against some stout DLs and pass rushers, and looked tough and highly improved. It's not gimmicks that are making that unit look like the class of the AFCE. The Bills routinely put up major points on this group, but the problems on O are bone headed errors- turnovers, penalties, and goofs. I expect the Bills to play a cleaner game, and run the ball better. Final 31-21 Bills -
Laporta has the most catches NFL history by a rookie TE so far. Kincaid is doing fine.

Folks will see Rapp and be surprised. He's good and will play well.

I can't get over that Sam Howell put 32 up on the Broncos in a half the week before the 70 burger. -

Interested in Jaelin Philips injury. Would be a big loss for Phins. -

I struggle with this. Our D line is a lot better than then, and heading into this game we've got the best cover/ secondary we've had in several outings. Game 1 last year we played them very well defensively. They still got in their splash plays via the air, but basically shut them down. Our secondary was a mediocre crew w all the injury. Blew the game w a lot of other mistakes. Game 2 they had 188 on the ground and we almost lost. Again, the problem is if you"let" them run they have RBs who can break big plays as quickly as the pass. I don't think we basically let them do anything. Not like we stack the box. Have to be balanced , trust our guys. I think our base nickel / typical D favors us .... honestly the things we've been doing are our best bet; masked coverages, mostly run blitzes, an occasional extra rusher, but mainly counting on our base 4. Our ends like Floyd and Groot are so long limbed. Get those hands up. As crazy as it sounds, I like our D in this game. Despite the fact the Phins have had some success against us, we surprisingly match up very well. -
Hypothetically… Brian Daboll gets the boot….
RichRiderBills replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think he'd come back here. He'd get paid anyways and probably go back to college. I could see him being an excellent college coach. -
I thought Rapp pulled up at the last minute.

Week 3: Buffalo (-6.5) at Washington
RichRiderBills replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well if by great you mean bottom 5 in the NFL in RB ok.... I agree on pass rush, but generally it is not as good as they say, and a bit overrated. Howell is a guy. If you rack and stack them he would still be a bottom 10 QB. I want to respect all our opponents, but this one should be a Bills W. These guys are 2-0 and looking to keep rolling, but I figure we roll them. -
Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
RichRiderBills replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will say....guys also didn't make plays. Those screens to Harty , the action to Cook, Knox critical drop in OT. Yes, and Kincaid could not break one...but of course it's hard to look at anything but Allen. I think running a similar set v Vegas we are going to see more break aways and YAC. More big plays not necc from downfield hucks. I also don't think ( or at least hope) we'll see the same level of turnovers from #17.
