  1. At least we have a close fallback dome for blizzard conditions
  2. I'll agree with a few other thoughtful posters here on that play. We did what everyone wants the defense to do, we played aggressive (on the backend) to ensure that we weren't conceeding anything that let them get in scoring range. There was nothing "soft zone coverage" about our call. Most teams (especially with a quick release QB like Rodgers) with 8 seconds left would try to pickup a sideline play to be in FG range or to make a TD more feasible. We played to ensure that they didn't get any yardage with a stopped clock. We had plenty of coverage to also defend against a hail if they went that way. It sucks that lizard outplayed our DBs, but that could have happened had we rushed 3 or 4. I don't think anything was "bad" about the call, given the relatively high probability that they were trying for a quick pickup and that a hail attempt wouldn't have been significantly less likely with any other play call. I have a little issue with the prior 2 calls that may have forced a timeout burn, but also allowed more yardage than I would have liked. It's easy to judge the balance after the fact, but finding the right spot between giving up yards and burning clock is hard to find. The clock management on the Offensive side was great to even be in a position to argue about the last 20 seconds.
  3. Apparently if you are hit while in the throwing motion it doesn't matter if it goes backwards, it is still a pass. The rule is meant to eliminate a lot of judgement calls about intent after the hand starts forward with the ball in control. He was clearly about to tuck the ball, but I understand that there is a defined point of when the tuck starts (when the ball goes past vertical) that he didn't hit. It was called correctly, but it is an annoying play that fits into the spot between these 2 rules.
  4. It was actually a called play. There was a ton of eye candy to draw eyes to the right and Allen just had 1 guy to beat to the corner. Good play call, good execution.
  5. I don't generally like Rodgers, but this post game interview is real. It's refreshing to hear it how it is instead of playing politician.
  6. It was a sloppy, penalty ridden game all around. That's how some games go. People claim we "never get defensive stops when we need it". Or feel that we "never can close out a game". We did, like we do more often than not. It's likely a futile effort to combat blindness due to preconceptions, but felt it was worth calling out.
  7. "Defense can't get a stop when we need it and McD can't clock manage to close a game out."?
  8. Does that do anything for the people that say "injuries shouldn't matter"? No Rapp and Taron and that drive probably goes a bit different.
  9. Are you not counting their 2 missed fgs? We're just cherry picking shoulda woulda couldas?
  10. Don't know if it's just the line play tonight, but Davis seems to have a knack for not taking negative plays.
  11. For everyone else enjoying watching your team play, you're not alone.
  12. This is a football game, how long have you watched football? There hasn't been any "collosal f up"
  13. Really wish I had the patience to reread this after the Bills win by double digits
  14. Seeing the "Bills 20-5 in last 25 divisional games, vs Jets 5-20 in last 25 divisional games" really puts into context most of the weekly noise around here. It's a good decade to be a bills fan.
  15. How would you have wanted the timeouts to be used there?
  16. Not an excuse for the FG, but did you hear about the 60MPH gusts?
  17. Dude, sometimes it reads like you are being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Your original comment was "he was evaluated by an independent neurologist?? when?". Your questions were answered by 2 different people with the same data backed response. There is a well defined process that includes an independent neurologist. You can say you think it's an inadequate evaluation, but you really believe he wasn't independently evaluated?
  18. I cant find a source on 3rd and long, but defense rankings on 3rd down historically are: 2017: 11 2018: 9 2019: 9 2020: 19 2021: 1 2022: 6 2023: 18 I don't personally see any trend other than "top half of the league", certainly not poor. In context the bills typically (over the last 4-5 years) are playing with a significant lead where opponents are significantly more aggressive and less inclined to play the field position battle, which may result in slightly worse rankings than in a neutral situation. 5-20 are all usually tightly grouped too, probably within bias error.
  19. https://www.nfl.com/playerhealthandsafety/health-and-wellness/player-care/concussion-protocol-return-to-participation-protocol The blue tent sideline evaluation includes both team staff and independent (UNC) required to clear them for play.
  20. Haven't seen anything from Bishop yet that convinces me his good plays are enough to make up for the bad plays. In his limited regular season action I have him as grossly out of position on 2 scores and 2 other long pickups. His best play may be better than Hamlin and/or Rapp but with his mistakes are a liability right now, especially against a QB like Rodgers.
  21. Crazy question. Beane has been one of the highest hit rate drafters since he took the role. You can criticize parts other parts of roster building, like where dollars are allocated and FA strategy, but there is no reason to think we will not continue drafting successful NFL players. The only real draft critique is that Beane leans towards safer options instead of high risk/reward options (this is both why he drafts successfully and also hasn't had many "Blue chip" hits)
  22. Really need bass to have a game winning kick here, just so we can have a little of everything today.
  23. I wonder if it had anything to with the significant injury to his left hand...
  24. You just salty that Allen didn't throw the pick you were hoping for?
