The decision to go for the FG - right or wrong?

Sanders is 25/40 (62.5%) for 50+. Bass is 13/20 (65%). -

3rd down that you have to have and don't want to rush it. Good call -
TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?

Rodgers looks old, but he is far from being what is holding the Jets back (as far as play). It's nearly inexplicable how everyone on the O can just do everything wrong. Absolutely nothing works or goes right for them. -

The jets going on a "mini-run" is the best for us. They won't challenge us for division this year, but some amount of success increases the chances of them repeating mistakes next year. -
I really thought this was going to be a post about next week.

I'm not sure why KC looks like a cinch. We play them still. We are 3-4 against them over the last 4 years. There is no reason we can't beat them again. If we beat them, we have tie breaker. They would only have 1 game on us in that scenario. With as pedestrian as their offense has looked at times there is no reason that they couldn't lose a few games throughout the season. I'm not calling us favored or anything, but it doesn't really take a huge reach to see us ahead of KC.

13 yard pickup is waving white flag? It was a good call, it's not like they ran it up the middle. -

There was safety coverage coming in. It has to get there quick or it's an int. -

If this is sleepwalking, I wonder what happens when they wake up.... -
Can't wait to see the analysis. Are you seeing this in the (relatively small) sample size of 2024, or is this something that spans a few seasons?

He didn't maintain possession. They changed it to a catch and fumble OOB. Due to the "different" result, the challenge was successful but in effect changed nothing about the first down or spot of the ball. -

14 yard return falls in the "brutal" category for you? -

This is blatantly false. This game and this season we have a good success rate running on first down. 2nd down calls are a different story, but "most of the time it doesn't" is incorrect. -

That is actual playmaking on both ends. Throw him open and go up and get it. -

We're going to finish this season winning the division and a top 6 or 8 record in the league and people will still think we have the worst defense, offense, and st in the league. -

People just making up narratives. Not exciting so far, but lots of hot takes that don't match the game. 1st drive: 5 yard run, 4 yard run, open guy for first down. This drive was just execution on 3rd down. 2nd drive (no run): 5 yard pass, Dawkins false start, incomplete, incomplete. Put behind schedule by penalty. 3rd drive: 5 yard run, loss of 1 on run, incomplete to Hollins. I didn't like the run on 2nd down, but I get it since we were 5 ypc -
“Penalty will be accessed on the kickoff” so what?

This feels like the real solution. Kick from the same spot but move coverage team. Either that or assess it after the return. -

I'll agree with a few other thoughtful posters here on that play. We did what everyone wants the defense to do, we played aggressive (on the backend) to ensure that we weren't conceeding anything that let them get in scoring range. There was nothing "soft zone coverage" about our call. Most teams (especially with a quick release QB like Rodgers) with 8 seconds left would try to pickup a sideline play to be in FG range or to make a TD more feasible. We played to ensure that they didn't get any yardage with a stopped clock. We had plenty of coverage to also defend against a hail if they went that way. It sucks that lizard outplayed our DBs, but that could have happened had we rushed 3 or 4. I don't think anything was "bad" about the call, given the relatively high probability that they were trying for a quick pickup and that a hail attempt wouldn't have been significantly less likely with any other play call. I have a little issue with the prior 2 calls that may have forced a timeout burn, but also allowed more yardage than I would have liked. It's easy to judge the balance after the fact, but finding the right spot between giving up yards and burning clock is hard to find. The clock management on the Offensive side was great to even be in a position to argue about the last 20 seconds.

Apparently if you are hit while in the throwing motion it doesn't matter if it goes backwards, it is still a pass. The rule is meant to eliminate a lot of judgement calls about intent after the hand starts forward with the ball in control. He was clearly about to tuck the ball, but I understand that there is a defined point of when the tuck starts (when the ball goes past vertical) that he didn't hit. It was called correctly, but it is an annoying play that fits into the spot between these 2 rules.

It was actually a called play. There was a ton of eye candy to draw eyes to the right and Allen just had 1 guy to beat to the corner. Good play call, good execution. -

I don't generally like Rodgers, but this post game interview is real. It's refreshing to hear it how it is instead of playing politician.
