  1. Resources (cap space) are finite, draft picks are finite, and they have to make decisions as to what to address and where to take risks. Unlike fans who can critique each position on an individual basis, they need to manage the whole.
  2. This is exactly what I was thinking. I feel like it'll be fortunate if he suits up for 8-9 games this season. Predictable, but given the financial implications not much choice for this season. Surely one of the reasons they kept 11 on the D-line.
  3. Ahh, variable pricing per game. I certainly would expect the home opener vs. Steelers to be about the highest priced game I could imagine under that pricing scheme. The Canadian border thing probably didn't fit into their thinking back when they came up with it, but frankly speaking if they just about sell out prior to game time, it means the pricing was optimal for maximizing revenue. Not that I am particularly excited about that, but I can appreciate it from a business perspective.
  4. I saw this too. What makes you think the Bills are changing or gouging on ticket prices? They appear to be the same as they have been since they went on sale. Bills ticket prices are amongst the lowest in the NFL. I was thinking it was more likely Covid concerns and Canadians who can't make it across the border.
  5. It's fun so do it, a hotel, and medium.
  6. Can't believe it took until the 2nd page for someone to post this. I was thinking more like Bocce Club Pizza which is (or was) "Rico's Bocce Club Pizza"
  7. I am a 2 hour drive from the stadium. Except this past year the Mrs. and I got a nice lake house. That is also 2 hours from the stadium, but from a different direction.
  8. That was Rodak. Marcel Louis-Jacques does not resemble this remark at all. To my ignore list you go!
  9. Hey, Cheap Trick is there on Sept 9th! If that's your bag. I may go. I saw Kansas there a few years back. More into the concerts than the gambling.
  10. Indeed! I should have said "West of Horseheads" in your honor. 😉 Maybe more like West of Tioga Downs...
  11. What's amazing to me is if you live in NY state on the border with PA you find overwhelmingly it's Bills country (at least west of, say, Corning). Whereas if you drive 5-10 minutes south into PA it's clearly Steelers country. It's not like there is a river or mountains or a major city in PA splitting the two. Just the invisible border between states. Rochester is very much Bills Country. By the time you get to Syracuse it's more a split with the Giants and Jets, with Bills probably holding an edge. By the time you get to Albany it's Giants/Jets in the lead followed by Bills.
  12. Except that he literally set things up to ensure the team would not be easily moved from Buffalo. So your 'belief' appears to be completely unfounded. It's called negotiating. He was a businessman.
  13. Indeed. I was simply speculating based on perceptions. Who really knows, right?
  14. Notorious partier and womanizer Jim Kelly who got married and settled down and had three kids. Probably not.
  15. https://gazette.com/news/mitchell-football-superstar-terry-miller-talks-about-his-glory-and-his-crime-david-ramsey/article_1363fcc4-04a0-11ea-ad2e-87c76839afaf.html Outstanding article on Terry Miller's life. Mentions his NFL career ended through a cascading set of injuries to his foot and leg and I suspect general wearing down after such a prolific high school and college career.
  16. It was Joe Ferguson, but it's not clear he said that as opposed to the coaching staff thought it.
  17. Agree with the post except the last line. Not hard to arrange buses from remote lots for fans. Also, the off-premises lots would increase as a result of increased demand, fans just have to walk farther in some cases. No way they reduce attendance to due to parking.
  18. Lash LaRue was not a professional wrestler. He was a mid-20th century cowboy-actor. I only knew this because he was on the cover of a Waylon Jennings-Johnny Cash album I had, so I looked him up.
  19. Of course context is important. Anyone who plays QB any appreciable length of time in the NFL is surely amongst the top 0.01% of performers at their position in their age group among all who played organized football. They compete against other men who are in the top 0.01% of their positions who are dedicated to stopping them. It's natural that a bell curve of sorts appears at the very top of the profession because it's that way everywhere including teachers, lawyers, doctors, etc.
  20. https://library.rit.edu/archives/spirit-tiger-0#:~:text=In 1963%2C a “Tiger Council, could interact with their mascot. They did it at RIT with a Tiger back in the 60's.
  21. I'm a Bocce's man myself but if you are south of Buffalo, I recommend Imperial Pizza for the Buffalo style pizza experience. Gotta have those charred, curled pepperonis!
