  1. Do you mean letting him go, like, emotionally? Because he's not under contract with the Bills anymore.
  2. I was in the car with my Dad listening to Van Miller describe the Greg Bell TD run to start the game....while waiting to park at Rich Stadium. Of all the games to be late to!
  3. If you don't like the Bills drafts in the latter part of the Levy era I think that is on Polian and Butler. Unlike today's setup where McDermott reports to the owner, same as Beane, back then Levy reported up through the GM. I'm sure he had influence but not the final call. He was outcoached to varying degrees in those Super Bowls. That was against fellow Hall-of-Famers Parcells, Gibbs, and Johnson. Meanwhile in the playoffs he was schooling Shula, Cowher, and Flores, also all in the HOF. I don't know about 'trivial' things, I just noticed his 5 coach of the year awards in 4 different leagues, across 5 different decades. I don't know...I laughed at it. And I thought your original post was interesting!
  4. He was past his time when brought back as a GM. In terms of your assessment of him as a coach...of course you are welcome to your opinion, but the data indicates your opinion is incorrect. Some career highlights: University of New Mexico - 14-6 record in two seasons and named coach of the year one of those seasons College of William & Mary - twice coach of the year in five years Montreal in the CFL - three Gray Cup appearances and two championships in five years. Named coach of the year once. KC - improved a putrid team's record for 3 straight years before being fired in year 5. The team regressed and didn't become a winner until 4 years later. Bills - 8 playoff appearances and 4 super bowl appearances in 11 seasons. Named coach of the year once. This is a "so-so" coach? But hey, you probably have a master's degree from Harvard and a 46 year football coaching career that qualifies you to criticize his coaching capability.
  5. Not to mention, why go with an over the hill, overly academic, Halleck as the next choice? Makes no sense. Lincoln is so overrated. Didn't think about strategy - his success was only due to great soldiers. And he was cheap! (Do I have that right as to how we do it here?)
  6. Of course he sold his home before building a new one. He doesn't want to carry a mortgage.
  7. We need another solid back as a complement Singletary. Either to replace Moss as the "move the pile" back (which Moss failed to do too often) or as more of a home run threat (like a Breida who can actually block and knows the plays). All good teams need two or more fairly effective backs. Motor is one.
  8. Wait until they go to 18 games. Product quality takes a back seat to more revenue, unfortunately. I think depth is going to become more of a differentiating factor between teams than ever as injuries and wear and tear (physical and mental) accumulate.
  9. I enjoyed the questioning of Allen in terms of "Can he do it without Daboll"? LOL, the right question is can Daboll do it without Josh?
  10. Good point! Maybe Darren Bevell should be up for head coach somewhere given that victory over the Colts.
  11. Three coaches, actually. Unless you're saying that Frank Reich or Brian Flores were not in fact NFL coaches at that time.
  12. Guys, I was just pointing out you can't compare 53 players under contract to 38 players under contract and consider the cap space left an apples-to-apples comparison. I wasn't wading in to quality of roster or roster building strategy or anything else.
  13. I'd put a 4th rounder on this guy. He's a freak.
  14. Technically correct but completely misleading. Buffalo's Top 51 cap space is $2.8M with 53 players under contract. Whereas KC's Top 51 cap space is $21.2M with only 38 players under contract. So to compare the two situations you'd need to add 13 more players to the Chiefs roster at $1.4M per player to make it equivalent. That's a whole bunch of replacement level free agents with a few decent FA's mixed in. Probably not 13 players better than the Bills bottom 13 already on the roster.
  15. Spending vs. Tax Revenue is a different issue. That's totally out of control.
  16. I get it. I was sarcastically commenting on the piercing insight of the troll who posted it. (And of course the Bills would like to have Tre for this game, but it is what it is)
  17. Oh, believe me, I know how much I contribute. And the % gets higher every year. So glad Uncle Sam is reaching into every couch cushion to take more.
  18. You are wondering if the Bills will miss their all-pro cornerback in a game against one of the most prolific passing attacks in the NFL? Do you also wonder if water is wet?
  19. Pay their share is a polite way of saying "have a portion forcibly taken by the government".
  20. Lol... if someone thinks "How will the weather in KC be?" is a 'gotcha' question, then they are clearly looking to reinforce previously held beliefs about the media. Wolf lofted a bunch of softballs to McDermott.
  21. He was "moving irrigation pipe". Farm boy all the way.
