He was picked to beat press man coverage and win contested passes. Something we have lacked in the playoffs the last several years vs. KC. He is highly athletic and only tested poorly in the 40yrd dash, top 5 of every other drill. His play speed is faster than most which is what we want and need. I feel the same way about Mahomes as I did Brady. They are very lucky to be in the situation they are. Stars have aligned to help them out. Whe. Brady needed his defense to be great they usually were. Mahomes is getting the same right now as his paly has slipped. He hasn't had to be great the last 2 years like he was the 3 before.

Again, what did he do that made him the best? Nothing special. Hit wide open guy in the flat at the end. No special run, not touched before 1st down. He had an avg at best game. Was able to win because of his defense and special teams played great games.

What did Mahomes do that made him the best? He played ok tonight. Threw a pick and had 1 touchdown gifted on a special teams blunder by the 49ers, and another easy pass on a wide open 3yrd play. He took sacks, made terrible throw aways, had 2 intentional grounding ( only 1 called). His defense and special teams carried his team tonight.

They absolutely were going to call PI as the ref who threw the flag wasn't watching where the ball went. So they huddled and had to discuss exactly what happened and didn't come up with plan b but settled on holding as the right call.

That DH was absolutely a penalty. The refs just had to decide if it was going to be PI or DH. They made the right call as the ball was so far out of bounds, but it doesn't negate the holding or illegal contact after 5 yards.
