This happens every time we have multiple defensive starters sat thinking we can just get through the game. Happened in Miami last year as well. NFL really screwed us on this one. No way they could look at an offensive powerhouse just shut down by a mediocre defense they gave the total advantage too by 2 games in a row in London.

This defensive line goes to s*** when DaQuan Jones goes out. Another 1tech would be a nice surprise trade deadline add.
We have Puna Ford just sitting there waiting to play.

You made a point of saying 1 more season which is technically true but skewed in that he only played in 1 game to have a chance at fumbling. Also comparing quarterbacks who are asked to do 2 different things skews the stats as well. If Mahomes is only running to avoid pressure Josh is asked to be the running game as well, his chances of fumbling go up significantly and the proof is that it happens more. In your comparisons Jackson is the most comparable to Allen in the fumble department.

But the fumbles are the one thing that separates him, and this is where the recklessness shows up.
Mahomes, in one more season than Josh, has 10 career lost fumbles. Josh has 21.
Games . Fumbles / Lost . Interceptions . Total Turnovers . Turnover % Pr GameAllen 78 54 / 21 63 84 1.08
Burrows 43 20 / 9 31 40 .93
L Jackson 71 44 / 16 39 55 .77
Mahomes 81 31 / 10 50 60 .75
I realize there are other variables. For example, the number of passes attempted will give you another view of the interception rates. Or total snaps/plays might be a better point of reference for total turnovers. Or fumbles versus running plays. Or touchdowns to turnovers, etc.
But the bottom line is our boy commits more turnovers.
If he can improve that, he could dominate this league.
Mahomes only played in 1 game in that season before Allen was drafted, so it's the same amount of time. Allen runs the ball more than Mahomes as well. When was the last designed run for Pat?

I'm trying to think back, was there anything creative run today? I'm not talking razzle dazzle, but just something that didn't look vanilla?

Glad we roster all these special teams guys.

Exactly. This is the reason I don’t resort to that kind of crap. I will say this:
Once the regular season is over, players have been paid what the contract says. Playoff games are paid separate of the contract. He was essentially a free agent, with no guarantee other than the playoff check. From what I’ve read, he would have earned around $42k. Some here question his character and/or his intelligence. That was a smart move. If you reply that you would have played because you are a high character guy, you’re either lying or dumb as 💩. Think about it, if you get hurt, I guarantee your teammates that you fought for won’t pony up the potential $$ you would lose. Maybe they’ll start a gofundme for you.
You keep saying you don't resort to that crap, yet you are are going to the other side that he was smart about it and played it well. You make assumptions that I would be lying or dumb as $h*t if I say I would have played. Well we know what happens when you assume. Too many examples of good to great players battling through injury with teammates in the playoffs to show that what Lamar did was selfish and undeserving of the contract he is asking for.
On the other comment of him basically being a free agent as soon as the regular season ended is just a BS statement by someone looking to defend him. He becomes a free agent at the same time as everyone else, at the start of the new league year which is March 15th. Was he also getting paid to milk his injury at the end of the regular season?

I know this is a place where we can share our opinions, but stop it. You don’t know 💩 about his character.
In that, neither do you. But based on actions of not playing for your teammates in a playoff game does say a lot about his character.

Do you really believe he couldn't have played at the end of the season? He didn't owe the organization anything. They weren't negotiating with him in full sincerity. Their offer to him was putrid. Honestly, he shouldn't have played at all.
He missed final 4 games the season before as well. The fact he sat for a playoff game says everything about his character and he doesn't deserve a fully guaranteed contract. Also not saying Watson should have gotten that either.

Injury history is enough to not put that option on the table.

Absolutely the worst call to end a SB of all time.

We're gonna let the play happen both teams lineup for punt and then we blew it dead for a 2nd time?

Something about this offense always injures the QB. Between the 49ers and Phish what 7 QB's?

For him it is good, because he will be here long term.

Better to show you can get there than to constantly fail in advancing there at all.
Is it though? You're still a lover at the end of the year. And as we know as Bills fans the only thing that makes those 90's teams special is that nobody else has ever made it to 4 consecutive.

He isnt a better regular season Quarterback. But its starting to get really hard to argue the kid isnt better in the playoffs. He is 5-5 in playoff games, and is one game away from being in his 2nd Super Bowl. When QBs are remembered long term, no one brings up their supporting casts at the top of the argument. By the end of next year we could be talking about Burrow being a better all around QB, but at the moment it goes Mahomes then Allen.
Like it or not, the national narrative around Josh right now is whether he is the next Philip Rivers.
He is just as close to being considered a 2 time Superbowl loser.

Look at the offensive disparity between Bills and Bengals.
Bengals have a 1st round receiver and Tight End, 2 2nd round receivers, 2nd round RB.
Bills have 0 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round receivers, 2 4th rounders, 2 5th rounders. A 3rd round TE and 2nd round RB.
The team needs to invest more into the offense and stop spending so many 1st and 2nd round picks on defenses that are good against weak teams and fold against top talent.

It’s funny, this is off-topic, but for some reason the OP made me think of it…
past couple seasons, it seemed like we were only a “couple pieces away” from winning a championship.
Then going into this season, it felt like we picked up the missing piece in Von Miller.
but as of right now, this very moment, it seems we have so many deficiencies that it’s more like “Where the hell do we even start?”
I wish I could believe this was easily fixable, but this really has the feel of taking several steps back (and quite possibly, the rest of our division may continue moving forward)
We got a CB2 but won't play him full time, signed Miller for pass rush finisher (IR), signed Daquan Jones to sure up the run defense (out injured today), down to our 4th safety. It all just came to a head today.

He won't play within it. That's the problem.
I don't think it's that he won't play within it. It is that our system gives receivers too many options on routes and Josh and the receivers need to be on the same page, with a weak oline that doesn't hold up.
-
Time for Beane to invest real draft capital into the Oline and receivers. We have so much invested into the D that let's us down in the biggest moments.
