49ers had a great defense last year. Buccaneers last couple of games is damn near transcendent. The Buccaneers defensive line performance through the playoffs could win any Superbowl. Last time I saw a D-Line this dominant throughout the playoffs was the 2007 Giants. I agree about defense but.. this specific defense is not something I can see be replicated

I agree. But the more I see it this is pretty much an NBA type salary dump for the Rams. No way is Goff that much less valuable than Stafford, but when comparing contracts between the 2, Goff becomes more a liability than an asset.. and the Lions want more compensation to move him to their team. It's something I imagine the Eagles are considering with Wentz, and he obviously comes as an even worse liability. Falcons and Eagles would compensate teams just to allow them to offload Wentz and Matt Ryan. Goff just has a bit more value than those two.

Cam may have had the worst post-MVP career since Shaun Alexander. I thought he'd have some sort of bounceback this year at least. They were both so dominant during those seasons.. He's an intriguing backup for JA only for the reason I always pegged their games as quite similar. But I don't see it happening or really mind either way.

I say win-win trade. I think the Lions clearly win, getting Goff and 1st rounders, dumping off their aging franchise quarterback and getting a whole slew of assets to build with. And Goff certainly isn't that much worse than Matty. The Rams just because their MO has always seemed win now, sloughing off high picks, going for it all in FA. I still think Matty Stafford can win on a good team. Multiple veterans around the league rave about how he can sling the football.

is Goff really chopped liver to everyone in trade value? Haven't seen him play much this year.

Edmunds frustrated me there. For all the athleticism he's supposed to bring to us he gets completely manhandled on a block from some dinky WR on a bad angle no less.

Edmunds looks so easy to block. Could be his size and him not figuring out how to use it for him to be a better football player rather than against him

Edmunds frustrates me. I still hear how "young" he is, and age wise sure. But I thought general GM wisdom was that player's NFL experience means a heck of a lot more than date of birth. For these reasons I don't mind rolling the dice with Oliver next year. I say busts until proven otherwise. And Edmunds is running out of time to do so.
