  1. No champion of Tyrod anymore. But those receivers didn't have a chance against the Pats corners, hellish matchup. Throwing a guy open requires trust from Tyrod, and it's not there. He's too scared to throw, and too inaccurate I'd be nervous myself if he attempted to squeeze in passes. And I don't really think he's even tried those timing back shoulder throws but neither party is capable of making that play. I love that pass, Rodgers does it in his sleep. I'd say Russell Wilson can't really throw a guy open either, he's got Jimmy Graham and barely knows how to use him. He would just force wildly high passes at Graham when he first got him. Wilson makes his living on extending plays with an otherwise pretty poor offense. Not comparing to Tyrod at all here, just saying that's how Wilson executes an offense. I'd wager throwing a guy open is either a timing route, I can only think of like a back shoulder play (seriously those can't be defended in man they're automatic 20 yards for Rodgers), or just throwing to where only a bigger target can grab. But we say that buzz phrase like it's the penultimate trait in a quarterback.. when I'm sure any quarterback would tell you he'd rather just throw to an open receiver on his first or second read.
  2. I've been critical against our receivers, and I'm not shifting blame from our coordinator and quarterback either, I just think all 3 components have been terrible, with obvious results. Zay and O'Leary are the only receivers I'd hang my hat on that played this season. It really showed against the caliber cornerbacks the Patriots have, most routes looked impossible to throw at. But it's also no secret that Tyrod is inaccurate, I just hope both facets can improve next year somehow. New QB, healthy KB, and sign some FA depth, save a high draft pick for insurance.
  3. Yeah I've honestly never seen anyone drink cognac period.
  4. Well yeah, I actually looked up Hennessy and found it was popular with that demographic I guess. Is it regional? My drinking career started in Texas and like no one gets Hennessey. I realize how white that sounded lol
  5. I'm going to have to side with Joe Sixpack for using numbnuts successfully in a sentence. But aside from the secondary I see a gutted roster.
  6. Just wanted to confirm. I'd rather have OBJ (can't stand him) or Mike Evans.
  7. Sure idc, I agree we need better receivers and he's better than KB IMO. You said he was the best receiver in his class lol, do you stand by that statement?
  8. I apologize, I just came to say I'm annoyed this keeps getting bumped to the top of the thread. BB just grumbles nonsense before jogging away. It's too bad we haven't seen him lose as much cause he never cares to show any respect.
  9. lol. I mean, sure would have been cool if we got him 2nd round.
  10. he was in the ODB, Watkins, Evans, KB class.
  11. you seem more focused on the stature of Mayfield than anything else.
  12. pretty sure Klay Thompson gets high before and after every NBA game. See: every press conference.
  13. Micah Hyde was pretty pissed off.
  14. I made a pretty reactionary thread about our receiving corps, but they were HORRIBLE last Sunday. The conversation got derailed to quarterback discussion of course. I know we didn't have a good receiving corps on paper, but these guys so obviously failed the eye test. Catching, route running, broken plays, none of that was on display. It came to light yesterday but I don't remember thinking "wow that guy had no business making that catch" all year and I see circus catches around the league every week. Maybe Zay had 1 or 2 of those, that's it. Nick O'Leary had a few "cool our back up tight end made a catch above his pay grade" plays. I'm not even talking about stats.. I get that it relies on the quarterback, but I'd be hard pressed to come up with a highlight reel for anybody that lasts longer than a minute. Huh? Jarvis?
  15. I'd like to think Gronk endangered his whole team with that move. Hope the Bills feel that way too.
  16. HAVING. THE. TIME. OF. HIS. LIFE.
  17. ha I'd have incredible anxiety before games, I don't think I could stomach liquor by the time I'm in the locker room. Could barely force down water. A Gibbs thing I guess, he must have seen everything by that point. IIRC they were pretty good before he retired and Zorn came in.
  18. If you want to commiserate in another teams' lost season in NFL lore I saw this weird story crop up on Twitter, I know it's tragic about Sean Taylor, but they were doing this way back. And why Hennessy?? I don't even know what Jim Zorn is supposed to do in that situation.. He didn't even seem to hard pressed about it. Just let it go I guess. Takes a certain kind of coach to deal with that. This is the full story https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2017/12/05/clinton-portis-and-santana-moss-lost-more-than-a-friend-when-sean-taylor-died/?utm_term=.80fcb9598e78
  19. That's awesome. New Potential screen name.
  20. I don't think it makes much difference and don't want to fight. But I think tyrod gives us the best chance to win if he's actually healthy. And that's if we want to win, I don't really feel like running the simulations but seems slim even if we win out.
  21. Not sure why Fitz thinks his (wrong) opinion matters. Starting his post career with hot takes already. Wants to be a talking head.
  22. Sure, it might be indicative of a culture that tolerates few mistakes. And Gronk really did seem hung up on being intercepted, that's fine. But what he did after was a bigger mistake in itself.. Like how we rag on Hughes, but really, worse. Beli isn't happy with a play like that. If that happens in tight a playoff game, and officiating is better, this is a move we point to and laugh at like we do every year when the Bengals implode.
  23. I can't tell if he's serious. It's The Patriot Way I guess, can't beat winners doing their winning thing and pile driving rookie heads into the ground. Nah man, winners don't do that. TreDavious White sure looks like a winner in that play. Can't say the same for that Patriot Fella.
  24. That's sadly the case primarily because Goodell is a moron arbiter. I see the Pats killing the Steelers with or without Gronk, but yea.. marquee matchup.
