  1. You need a good GM. That's all there is to it. Somebody at the Chargers built a Superbowl conternder with Gates, Tomlinson, Rivers, and a solid defense.. Somebody at the Colts had Edgerrin James, Wayne, Harrison, and a solid defense. This guy for the saints has Kamara and Brees, and a solid defense. Brees could get a Superbowl with his current team. Point is nobody is ever going to be able to replicate the Patriots. It's been a staggeringly period of dominance. When you get a transcendent quarterback, you're getting there, but tough titties ya gotta have talent. And you don't even need the quarterback. You realize how different game manager quarterbacks were when they won a Superbowl young? Big Ben was along for the ride his first SB. Wilson, Brady, Eli. Then there's nerfed Peyton, an Eagles miracle. Brett Favre's SB winning team was absolutely loaded. Ole Dirty B could have ran for 1300 yards on that team. I don't know if you're talking sustained Superbowl success but it really comes down to a game managing QB, or a stud QB, and some very opportunistic rookie contracts. I think no matter what the window for success for any given team is very short and they need great drafts to be there. I'd say it's 70% drafting and 30% quarterbacking if you're married to winning with a HOF QB which isn't always necessary.
  2. I mean I'd rather give a 5th for an established player than go through the Peterman process
  3. Yes there are a lot of old dudes in the league quite satisfied with their legacy lol
  4. Beane didn't draft White or Jones. I'm not going to give him credit for a draft he wasn't even employed for.
  5. Lol respect. I take my dick comment back. well played rep point comeback. Game recognize game. You and I got this forum by the balls.
  6. Let's think of this. Whaley did the process on steroids. Meaning he knew he had an elite defense, drafted a quarterback, got him weapons and a line as fast as I've ever seen. And failed cause EJ was a bust. I'm okay with that because it was extremely quick and we moved on from EJ. Not saying Allen is a bust but I'd like to find out in less than 4 years because he needs about 8 good starters on offense. Whaley failed very quickly. Beane has a chance of failing for so long that we could just waste 5 years of hope after a series of losing seasons worse than Juaron games/seasons. That would crush my soul to the core.
  7. 30 years from now we'll be damn glad Beane took us through a process and we're in the Superbowl.
  8. That rep point makes me feel dirty. I just wanted you to shut up. REMOVE IT.
  9. AJ McCarron to begin with wasn't a good call. I'd take a LOT of backup quarterbacks for this team, Glennon, KAEP!!!, Fitzyboy, Mark Sanchez, Teddy Bridgewater, Semen, Cody Kessler, Matt Moore, Hoyer, Schaub. Anybody that got hyped at AJ McCarron's "highlight" video that was essentially an AJ Green highlight video might have considered we don't have AJ Green??
  10. Keep asking the hard hitting questions Luka. Don't stop fighting the good fight. Something is in the water over there in Buffalo but damn everybody is optimistic to a fault. I like optimism. I hope we get to 6 wins this year. 8 the next, 3 after that "REBUILD WE NEED MORE TIIIIME", 12 after that when we draft a Julio Jones. That's my most optimistic vision of how Beane's process could turn out. And it feels generous. Be nice if we could have a faster timeline.. I think I've seen it done before.
  11. Not counting white and don't like Jones. Otherwise I'm just seeing a list of rookies we drafted lol really informative
  12. I'm starting to get it. A track record of of sucking at free agents means we're going to crush it getting free agents the following year. Like if a CEO plummets his company the shareholders know he's gonna be great with more control and money. Happens all the time. It's like if a McDonald's worker steals and eats too many cheeseburgers and you make him your manager. It's like if Trent Richardson sucked year 1 he needs more carries. Showing poor judgement thus far is really going to pay dividends in 2019 when it really matters.
  13. I'd prefer to have more than 2 players.
  14. Bradham is a really good role player on a championship team. Always thought he was underrated
  15. I can see it! Sorry that was too easy
  16. Pretty sure Beli wouldn't care if he strikes out.
  17. We're on a raft. Don't need a rudder. It's called a process. The national media and football world and half of TBD are to dumb to know that this soggy raft can.. maybe help us fish if we tether to the dock. But don't bring too much beer or ppl. Too much weight will sink it
  18. ypg doesn't mean yards per 2017 Saints game haha. I don't give a flying **** about Tyrod. He upgraded from suck to poor that's what I said. Great conversation all around
  19. Let me ask this. What's the difference between maintaining a mediocre roster (how horrible to be competitive sometimes!) and waiting for the bloated contracts to go away... And tearing down the roster. They take the same amount of time. One method ruins my Sunday, the other has me having fun on Sunday. Oh and the tearing down the roster idea is ruining McDermott's career. That's real cool of Beane
  20. Don't know who he is. So that's good he probably has a good chance of being the #2
  21. I don't understand how people seem genuinely happy with the team right now. I can't fathom it.
