I'm going to bump this because after reading up on the top prospects for the dline my take is that if you dont get the top 3...trade back at it's a deep draft for dline. Trade back get a TE and DT or edge. Standing by this...the rest is smokescreen.

Whether Beane trades down or stays put I can see him bundling some picks to move back into the end of the first to nail his 2nd must have. With the depth on defense in this draft there will still be huge difference makers available late first early second so it will warrant the move. Preference is trade back get Hock, trade up with the extra second or 3rd and get best DT/edge available. Draft OT, LB and RB with whatever is left. We have enough duct tape on this oline to justify grabbing your franchise tackle next year and not this year. Just my take.

I agree with whoever said option 3. Give him a 2 or 3 year extension at way less than it will cost to pick up the option. 1 year option 13M. 3 year deal worth 21. He will take the guaranteed money.

Woah. Talk about extreme viewpoint. Ha. If he's the man yes I think this team should make the playoffs...but to say that good QBs carry their teams to the playoffs almost every year is too extreme. Drew brees couldnt get new Orleans in a few years. Hes a hall of Famer. Stafford cant get lions in. Is he bad. Matt ryan cant get his team in. Is he bad? Fact is. If team sucks there are only a handful of guys who can single handedly get their teams in.

Anyone can see there is similarities. We will just see how it plays out. As for mahomes hes a stud. But before we anoint him king let's see him do it again. He was very high on the list when it comes to interceptable passes...he makes some poor decisions but his arm talent let him get away with it. A few inches here and there and maybe its 10 more picks and 10 less TDs. Doesnt take much and he still has a way to go before we throw him in the HOF.

I'm just thinking if we want to part ways with him this year his contract makes it hard to do anything but cut him and cutting him leaves us with dead cap this year that we might want to carry over. A more manageable contract may make him more appealing via trade.

Make a more team friendly deal and add a year that spreads out the cap hit? Seems like a non shady thing to do but may be his best chance to get traded or doesnt get cut? Thoughts?
