I hear this loud and clear. I was just telling a friend today that in the 10 day forecast, when it shows nothing but sun and warmth for the weekend, it ALWAYS changes in the last 24 hours. But then when it says rain on Saturday and Sunday 10 days out, it freaking NEVER EVER changes all the way up to the final day. I mean really? A 20 degree drop in temp and rain for just 48 hours before jumping back into the 80s??!!
yeah.
I don’t mind the cooler temps one bit - however, if it rains that’ll suck.
I treated my dad to the Texans game back in 2021 and we got soaked — he vowed that would be his last game ever 😂 (he’s also 74 years old, though)

this weather pisses me off so much.
Seems like it’s always beautiful on weekdays when I have to work, and them on weekends it’s showers and t-storms.

I went to both home preseason games last month and people sat almost exclusively.
Now, regular season, different story…

Couple of points on this:
- The Electoral College was created as a compromise to slave states. As such, it's been outdated for 150+ years
- The ostensible purpose of the EC was that the electors would serve as a check against the will of the people, voting for a candidate other than the one who won the popular vote if they felt that candidate was a danger to the country. It obviously does not work like this. Any idea that it's a "check against tyranny" is just wishcasting.
- The most common argument for it is that it gives the small states power. This is demonstrably false. Were it true, we'd spend every election season focused on the smallest states such as Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, and the Dakotas. Instead, we're talking about Pennsylvania (5th most populous state), Georgia (8th), Michigan (10th), Arizona (14th), Wisconsin (20th), and Nevada (30th).
- If your support for an electoral system is based on the fact that it helps your team, you're not actually interested in democracy, you want authoritarianism disguised as democracy.
- Don't know why I would need an "excuse" for November. The race is currently a coin toss. Anyone who says they know definitively how it is going to turn out is just bragging about their ignorance.
those are good points friend, I’d counter #3 though by saying that those states are heavily focused on simply because they could truly go either way on Election Day.
If you calculate how much “electing power” someone living in AK, WY or MT has vs. someone in CA or NY, say, it’s a lot higher.
3 EV / 584,000 people = 0.00000514 (Wyoming)
28 EV / 19,678,000 people = 0.00000142 (New York)

He's a juvenile, right?
yes, but for a crime as violent and egregious as this it is often times customary to try the lad as an adult.

Also as another thing to mention, not victim blaming, obviously person committing crime caused bad thing to happen, but when someone threatens you with a gun or knife for your money or watch/jewelry, just give them your *****. Getting shot or stabbed is not worth your stuff, you should not go after the weapon unless you really think they're going to use it anyway.
I agree… however, most NFL players are alphas.

What is with you people? Do you seriously believe nobody goes to jail in San Francisco? Or that there's no crime in places like Houston?
Enough with the knee-jerk nonsense.
Let's just hope for the best for Pearsall
agree, this could have happened anywhere. Some locales have… uhm… more “unconventional” views on punishing criminals than others, though. Which is cool.

a good thought experiment would be: what would a country like, say, Japan or Finland do if faced with an influx of Venezuelan “immigrants” like this? 🤔

Which is?Because all the polling seems stagnant now with the battleground states all toss-ups.
I honestly don’t know what anyone expected .. it seems the convention bounce was probably already baked in by the candidate swap bounce and now it’s a tie ball game after weeks of the best coverage any candidate has ever received.
