I'm not saying part of it wasn't Pickett's own fault, I just know if I had a guy torque my knee like that late in an already decided game, regardless of intent my initial reaction is going to be exactly the same as Pickett's.
That would be a fairly universal reaction for any ballplayer in that situation.
Oh for sure, I dont blame Pickett for being upset - I agree I would be too....
But in the lens we can see the play happening in real time and replay - there is nothing dirty or wrong about it. Outside pocket, lawson goes to sack, pickett leaves his feet to make a meaningless throw.

we hit him on the side of his knees hermano.......could have been UGLY is all Im saying. Im glad it wasn't. I think the stillers qb has potential
Yes it could have been ugly, Pickett also jump threw across his body (again) making it even more awkward because hes in the air.
If we want to start calling scrambling jump throwing qb's untouchable unless you are only targeting their abs... we might as well de-evolve into flag football for QB's
1 minute ago, Simon said:That was a very awkward tackle in a game that was clearly over.
I would not have been happy about it either.
So dont extend play and jump throw last minute... his jump throw makes it even more dangerous then it already could have been.... I mean games over dont try right?

Just now, Freddie's Dead said:You can't go low on a QB, that's been well-established for years. You OK if somebody does that to Josh?
You are completely wrong on it being established for years. Thats if they are in the pocket dropping back, not if the are out of the pocket scrambling buying time. What should a defender do as the QB is moving away from them? just not try? If this was not a QB no one would care.... when you leave the pocket you lose the QB protections

He wasn't running, he was going backward and throwing a pass. Somebody does that to Josh I'm screaming at the TV.
But hes moving away from pocket and away from defenders, are defenders supposed to give up or not look to tackle until they are hugging standing up? What are they supposed to do lol

Shaq Lawson with a really dirty play going low on Pickett, and luckily Pickett's leg didn't stick in the ground. That had ACL written all over it.
So if a QB scrambles you cant touch them? what should he have done?

It was a bloody joke. Geez
Actually no jokes in a blowout, it makes the Steelers feel bad

Pickett with the rare ‘stats getting worse in garbage time’
I dunno I was told he was pretty good despite playing against our defense thats all backups + Milano outside of the DL

even though he had to actually do his job and punt today.... I cant help but think Sam Martin is having the time of his life out there this season

I think IH is already been moved to the 53
Yes for one game because McKenzie was out, i'm saying permanently ..........

Ok, I think Moss needs to get cut and free up the spot for Hodgins this season. Let T Jones be 3rd RB, not like we run a lot anyway
-
Josh got hit in head by multiple knees last week on a late slide, If you slide late it happens. As long as its not targeting the head it shouldnt be flagged

sorry romo you are wrong. Hamlin left his feet before slide started and didnt hit him in the head at all

Lol Davis caught a non-TD, cut him

No…Moss is what he is. Give Cook the repsCorrect, i've been a Moss hater for a year now but I am truly at the point where i'd rather see him cut and bring Blackshear or anyone else. Hell let T Jones be the number 3 back. Even moss' pass blocking isnt as good as its made to seem to me, def not much of an "upgrade" to Motor's pass blocking to warrant his 2 yard typical

Trubisky clearly the issue for the Pittsburgh offense. Good for them that everything is fixed now
I see a lot of "well pickett actually playing really good" still. I dont think hes playing BAD... but seems like announcers and people forgetting our entire secondary is backups essentially, and a linebacker

I hope starters play 3 full quarters, and assuming score is similar take them out for fourth like the Titans

I remember seeing posts in this thread that Josh struggles against Pittsburg

Knox would’ve never made that catch. Wow!!
Knox typically drops the routine ones, even his rookie year he had like 3 of top 5 catches that year on team

Morris.... wow

Heyward does get props and I still think he is underrated. Every time I see a Steelers game he stands out for disruption and hustle

High, but still went right between his guy’s hands.
and its a throw you dont make unless your arm is like Josh's... because as you mentioned it typically goes high. Not smart to sail a pass middle of field where defenders all around to pick it or even if dude catches it hes probably getting rocked
-
I like Hamlin's aggression. He doesnt look like some physical beater but he is a very willing aggressive tackler

love seeing the low pick UDFA guys like Morris and Hodgins coming up on 3rd and longs

Im old enough to remember where in the first 5 minutes even after the 98 yard TD that "Josh never performs against the Steelers" was a take from several people
