I don't think you understood the point. He was responding angrily or annoyed, however he'd want to put it to a tweet by some ESPN guy I've never heard of who said he hopes the follow up story gets as much coverage as the initial story. He said of course it won't, and I can infer from that, that he wish it would. Which is just beyond reasonable. A) I don't believe anything he or she says. B) I genuinely don't know because I haven't followed it that closely, did he have assault weapons? C) It doesn't qualify as news from an objective stand point. What happens to Reuben Foster, a NFL LB with a lot of talent who fell in the draft because of "character concerns" is a news story. What happens to the girl who may or may not have changed her story multiple times who is not a public persona after the trial, is not a news story. It doesn't warrant ESPN or any other news outlets resources. That's a lot different than just, "defending the presumption of innocence". That's a vendetta.

Innocent until proven guilty is a legal principle, and needs no defending. If we aren't jurors it has nothing to do with what you or I think. I don't believe anything she says, and I don't believe anything he says. I have my opinions but they are just that, opinions. I'd think you've gone beyond defending this principle that is in no danger.

Someone whose story changes multiple times isn't reliable. What she said under oath isn't any more reliable than what she said to the police. The whole thing is a mess, I wish they'd stop wasting money on this trial asap. I'm not going to speak on what I think about either of them, but your absolute defense of him is ridiculous. Do you at least have a personal relationship with the guy?

What jerseys do you own?
Ol Dirty B replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree... I only break one out when I go to a game. Or sometimes when I'm out of town at a beach or something. Sometimes I like representing the area. I need to get a new one, I had a white Watkins one. First white jersey I bought, I always was worried about spilling something on one at a game. I love our white jerseys. -
I actually like sleeping... So i'm fine with anything involving sleeping... I also like surprises, who doesn't like surprises? It always struck me as odd, people who say they don't like surprises. I feel like they always say that to try to induce someone into surprising them. They're like that annoying person who keeps reminding you when their birthday is coming up. I'm not getting you anything, get over it. I might not even wish you a happy birthday. In the absence of wishing a happy birthday, am I wishing a bad one? No. But these selfish people just interpret that as such, I just don't care. Have as good of a birthday as you desire. Back to the surprise thing though, it's awful. No one actually dislikes surprises. Perhaps they dislike what they are surprised with, but surprise just in itself is a good thing. Who complains about being surprised with some steak, wings, pizza, a beer, whatever, a good game. Surprised by the 2017 Bills making the playoffs, no one is mad at those surprises. My roommates dog ***** in the house, yea that's not a good surprise. But it's the fact that it's dog **** surprising me that makes me not like it, not that I'm surprised by it. If the dog texted me and gave me a heads up I wouldn't be any happier about it. So in the end, Sleeping on McCarron seems like the most likely route to my happiness. I don't get let down, I sleep, and I'm right. Or I get a nice surprise...

What jerseys do you own?

Just Bills? Kelly Bruce Thurman Tasker Reed Flutie Moulds McGahee Watkins Johnson McCoy I've wasted so much money. I used to like to collect them as a kid so you could add in Rice, Greene (carolina), Young, Montana, Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, Michael Vick, Brett Favre, Ladanian Tomlinson, Randy Moss, Emmitt Smith... I'm sure I have others. I could wear a jersey almost every day of the week for two weeks and now I refuse to wear them because I just think it's something adults shouldn't do. I always got guys jerseys I thought were going to be Hall of Famers, hence the Emmitt and Deion jerseys. If I, or my parents saw one on sale, they'd grab it. I think I got those when they were leaving Dallas because, that's were they'll be remembered. They were actually good buys. I think I have someone's crappy Pittsburgh jersey somewhere that I never wore, because for some reason I hate that franchise more than anything outside of the pats. I'd never buy a **** Pats jersey. -

What Do YOU Remember about Thurman Thomas?
Ol Dirty B replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That whole team just... I don't know, do you think it was all Thurman that brought that energy level down. I'll never forget Aikman in the 30 for 30 saying they got outplayed, but as they entered the Tunnel together they could just tell that the Bills were off, they just seemed down and a bit almost combative with each other. I'll never forget the bootleg between him and Flutie were he was supposed to take the ball on a hand off and he didn't and flutie was like wtf am I gonna do here, and just ran it in easy. Even though I'm sure he was panicking. Nice first game, I remember that play too. That was crazy, I'm not the biggest Flutie fan, and that's another debate, but he was fun to watch. -
I'm not really surprised. He wasn't molded by, but he worked under Saban. Has worked in both pro and college ranks, college guys usually seem to be a little more off the wall with **** and what they think is ok. Saban reportedly made a guy cry in Miami. Not saying that the guy isn't a B word for crying, but that's what these college coaches do. They go off and lord over people. DIfference is in the NFL the tables are turned, and these guys, especially a guy like Allen are of more importance to a team than a coach. Marrone had his issues also. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, but I think it'll be ok. The other positive is Allen doesn't know anything other than playing at levels of football yet where guys do anything other than scream at you and overreact. I could be wrong, but in my limited levels of playing and being around the game it seems like you just get screamed at until you get to the NFL. Even then you get bitched at, but I think it's a little more mild. Especially for stars.

Buffalo News in financial trouble
Ol Dirty B replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is how I view it. All outlets have their faults, but by national standards the BN isn't that bad, and is useful for local non-sports related news. Personally, I think a lot of these papers would be fine by getting rid of the sports section. That job is dated, you have national outlets and guys will do it for free or as a side hustle and create their own median. Paying someone 6 figures to cover the Bills or Sabres just doesn't make sense, websites like this and Buffalo Rumblings kind of show that. The guy Cover 1 on twitter shows that. People will do this stuff as a hobby, we don't need people with journalism degrees to do that. The nature of the content simply doesn't warrant the credentials in my opinion. I'd rather they focus all those resources towards doing more in depth pieces on local news. That's where, in my opinion, the true value of a paper and what it can bring lays. A guy, just like you, or me, with no real discernible difference in talent when it comes to evaluating what is in front of us is useless. When that hole in coverage exists, someone will fill it, and probably profitably. The BN just might not be the place to do it. However, I could be completely wrong on this as I'm sure plenty of people, perhaps most of the people who buy the paper do it for the sole reason I'm advocating to get rid of it. The Sports section. I'm not really familiar with any statistics on this topic, so I could be way off. The more I think about it, I probably am. That is a good idea, however, I think it kind of already exists with things like bleacher report, the ESPN App, the AP wire, even Yahoo updates me on specific topics. And they're free. They just don't provide the kind of in depth journalistic coverage you'd get from outlets that require payment like a NY Times. However, when it comes to sports they get the job done. -
Buffalo News in financial trouble

I like the Guardian also... I'd like to get a Times subscription, but I just can't get myself to pony up. I was debating scamming them because I attended two undergraduate programs and I think I'm still a matriculated student their from like 2 years ago. -
Buffalo News in financial trouble

It's a sports section man.... I get people don't like a lot of the columnists, but is your main source of information determined around how they treat the Bills? I don't care about their sports section, or any sports section in a news paper for the most part, I'm more interested in local news and events not related to what 3rd string RB the Bills signed at the beginning of May. -
I get ticket revenue concerns, however, loss of goodwill? I'm not so sure where that comes into play. I've never heard a season ticket holder who was happy to pay for preseason games. Most wouldn't care or be happy they get one off their books. If it's a loss of money though, I agree, they aren't doing it. I don't see Syracuse doing anything to make it worth it financially like Rogers communications did for the Toronto games. If it happened, good for Syracuse. I genuinely hope they'd enjoy it... but it is preaseason.

Rookie Lowell Lotulelei retiring from football
Ol Dirty B replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it amazing that anyone would want a guy to give back his money to a team that generates millions in profits, gets tax subsides, won't give guaranteed contracts, and benefits from playing in a league that is classified as a non profit. Personally, I root for players to get money from these teams. They're gross. I don't root for it to hurt my team salary cap wise, but the league is disgusting. A guy gets 15k from Denver, a team that has taken season tickets away from holders because they thought the season ticket holder was profiting too much on the secondary market. !@#$ them, I know he got cut so that's not why he is keeping the 15k. But I don't care, get your money and run. This isn't like any other business. -
JALEN RAMSEYCLOWNS BILLS QB JOSH ALLEN... DELETES
Ol Dirty B replied to TucsonBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was on the Lebatard show and pretty much said his dad would put Lavar Ball to shame. And that he got a lot from him... I don't know, I'm biased because I like the lebatard show and I think it's essentially harmless to say that's a pick waiting to happen. My point is after the rambling is he had came across as someone who has a big mouth, knows it, and owns it. I don't get why a guy saying they're going to the Superbowl bother people so much. Who cares. Ramsey is a good corner, he'll be talking for a long time. -

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing this though and I like that you linked it from Shady. I wouldn't have caught this because I don't really follow this stuff on social media. -
John Ledyard on with Schopp & Sal today
Ol Dirty B replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm starting to think you didn't listen to the interview at all, in which case, who are you to comment on his opinions? I was left wondering how do you give a third round grade to a qb but still expect him to go in the first round. That was never fully explained, but he did say he expected Allen to go in the first round because he was a QB. Which I think somewhere in that someone holding those two conflicting positions may be able to explain it. Still, I don't get how you can expect a guy to go in the first then give him a third round grade. If you expect it and he goes, then he deserves a first round grade. The value teams put on that position impact that. It's like putting a 1st round grade on an udfa punter. He could be perfect. Pin back teams every punt, put it out at the 2 every work out every punt. No one is drafting a punter in the 1st. So even though he'd essentially be perfect, because of the position, he could never warrant that grade. -
John Ledyard on with Schopp & Sal today
Ol Dirty B replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ledyard actually addresses this directly in the interview and said it was one of the most confusing things regarding Allen. He's described as being great with football IQ off the field, but on the field it didn't seem to be there. I can't tell, are you being sarcastic here? -
Start Allen from Day 1/ QB competition
Ol Dirty B replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole thread is stupid. The Steve young point is ridicolous and just completely wrong. Yes he did sit behind Montana for sometime, but his first season starting he went 14-2 and was all pro I believe. His first year in San Fran he threw 10 yrs and 0 interceptions. He had a bad year in Tampa his rookie year, but whatever the OP is going on about he had a bad first year after sitting behind Montana is not even remotely right. If he earns it start him, but what I want is him to be developed. The OP just lobs out names of HOT QBs to make his point, even if i5 doesn't make his point should be banned from starting threads. -
How about Kaepernick as a back up and Reid? I don't think Ocean's razor really applies to the NFL. Arguably the greatest receiver ever was traded for almost nothing.

I was just going to post that. Amazing video
