  1. This is more my reading of the situation. Perhaps he wasn't to risk it and the teams doctor's have decided he just can't be allowed to do that. How does that work? Their is such a gray area that exists in this and you add in the nature of the retirement, more so imposed on wood due to circumstance rather than just walking away healthy. It's easy to see how it got messy, and everyone can have a different view.
  2. Why should he give anything back? Double dipping? What are you talking about? That would be him getting cut, them signing with another team, failing a physical and being paid by both. The guy was hurt fulfilling his contract for a business worth billions. He shouldn't give a !@#$ing penny back.
  3. Because 90% of the rest of that show and station is people like guys from this board calling.... And it's not better.
  4. It is, and while I think someone will find a place to replicate that market in sports, I'm more concerned about the real, local news a paper provides. I don't know if finding qualified journalists to research a story is an easily filled void. I could go on and on regarding the subject discussing it because I find it interesting. Sports coverage will always be there, and it's unimportant, it's like chicken wings, we'll seek it out. All the other stuff, well not all, but the actual news is like the vegetables you have to be forced to eat as a kid.
  5. Ok I misunderstood you then. It is sad, in my opinion what has been happening to news papers for the past 15 years or so.
  6. Because the guy you all hate left? Shouldn't that be a good thing to you guys, or is this just irrational hatred? I don't get why so many people want a business fail because they don't like the opinions of a couple employees have on their favorite sports team.
  7. I remember shadys incident last year, I defended him on that. I think the details were pretty clear that he wasn't in the wrong. That's also one incident. That's not what I said at all, it's not even close. Incognito has painted a picture of himself, and it's way too detailed for it to not be accurate at this point. The nature of Shadys stuff is wholly different than incognito in my opinion. He's proven time and time again to be a douche, in my opinion. I know I've made my mistakes and continue to do so. I don't go to bars and yell out the n word, I don't prod women with my putter, I don't throw gym equipment at people. The things he does are of a different nature and he's been doing it for like 15 years or so. Before he got press, before all that ****. You're doing nothing but excuse making for someone who has a track record of being pretty ****ty Why is it I can't recall coming across an article where incognito did this or that for a fan or someone? Granted it is most likely I have missed one and I don't think it's fair to expect them to go above and beyond. However, I just have nothing from memory that shows this guy has redeeming qualities. And all I have is bad. The picture is painted at a certain point. I don't like all these guys as players, and don't know them. But I can give you stories I've heard from family members, and people I trust of guys like Sammy Watkins, Eric wood, Stevie Johnson, Seantrell Henderson being pretty good guys. Outside of Eric wood, I'd say they are pretty polarizing. No stories exist to my knowledge, be it personal or public, about Incognito. I'm not saying he's for sure an ass, but I'd look sideways at anyone who wants to defend him.
  8. The guy has been in trouble at the work place, with the law, or others he has come in contact with (Miami dolphins golf tournament) to paint a pretty clear picture of who he is. If your bar of not being an ass, douche, or insert whatever term you want is just not killing someone or being arrested every second of everyday so be it. The guy has left enough of a public record for people to think he just might be an ass. Or not even that, just not worth defending. I don't get why anyone would. It's spelled empathy, or in your usage unempathetic, and I have plenty of it. Just none for Incognito. His issues are that he's an ass who can't control himself. You can reasonably say he's been accused of sexual harassment, racist bullying, and assault. That's not just mental illness, that's a lack of being able to control yourself and be a member of society. I tend not to care what people say who can't even spell the concepts they attempt to write about.
  9. I'm not sure that makes anything incognito did here or in his history defensible. I'm going to hope that quote was in the context of the physicality of the game. Parties are consenting and taking on that risk. We give football players too much leeway in this regard in my opinion. Because you can hit someone playing a stupid game doesn't cause you to be socialized in a completely different manner than the rest of society.
  10. I've never defended his behavior. Both him and Martin seemed to have issues, and I was wrong when they brought him in. He seems like a complete douche from multiple things he has done? Why does buffalo have a fan base that seems to thrive on defending those that are so unlikable. He performed on the field, that doesn't make him any better of a person. I can't believe this is the thread and player you'd like to defend and post that garbage.
  11. I wonder how Incognito would have been treated if he was black. I'm not a fan of that white privilege ****, but why did they release him from the retired designation? He didn't deserve it, and they didn't do it with Anquan who they signed under false pretenses. I know most of you hate it, but this regime's talk of character, faith, and how they treat guys is messy. I hate his success, but when do you hear belichick ever wander outside of production when it comes to players? Getting into all of that other **** gets messy, and I don't like that they do it. Except all of this wasn't invented yesterday. He knew this when signed the restructured contract. Who willingly takes pay cut then holds out?
  12. The Browns were never passing on QB's this year. While maybe in some instances some could take it as the smart thing to do, it just was never happening. Don't delude yourself.
  13. I think it's more likely he's on some blue and yellow burple pills. You left out 4,5, and 6. This post is extremely convenient and omits that Peterman could also range from anywhere to average to below average to awful... Which are also realistic possibilities, more realistic ones in my opinion. Also, I don't think you know what distinct means.
  14. No that's not what I said at all... It was about NFL fans. I rarely watch a game live unless I'm there. I'd rather start it a half hour late, disconnect, and watch the game being able to skip through commercials. Totally misconstrued my words. The commercials give you a break from baseball, I'm sure baseball fans love commercials. Also the soccor thing? I'm not surprised your post is this idiotic.
  15. Dude... You're on one. Stay if Amherst? Stop it. He's not shopping for real estate or raising kids here. If you're in Buffalo for two nights and you're spending what he's spending on airfare do you really want to stay in some crap hotel in Amherst by the airport where everything shuts down early? If he's going to rent a car and drive himself... The !@#$ is the point of being in Amherst? You're giving awful advice. I don't know the nature of what he plans to do. If you plan on not drinking, and you don't care about the night life, then sure, stay in Amherst. If you want to go out and see the town and the falls, but not planning on drinking, stay downtown. If you're planning on drinking and not wanting to worry about driving stay down town and just uber. I'm not sure how that works with international data plans, but Amherst sounds like somewhere I would absolutely not reccomend to someone right off the bat. That's awful advice in my opinion. Your posts are so bad in this thread... and the way you put on talking about how you've been to London and wrongly assuming he's from London just pile on. Just stop. You're not impressive.
  16. Let me guess... You love hockey though? Your getting offended in this thread is as confusing as bringing soccer into it. Also soccer games never go three hours and don't have commercials during play. But if you'd rather watch baseball or bud light commercials that's cool. My three sports to watch are Football, football, and basketball. The only one I watch live unless I'm attending is the Football with the capital F because of commercials.
  17. At least it stopped them from Billy Volek? Oh I forgot about that, or the wound healed. I was livid when they let Winfield go. He had awful hands, but he was exceptional at everything else. Clements was a play maker but got beat a lot. Winfield was a solid tackler, came up in run support and consistently put himself in position to make picks, just dropped them. Yet rarely seemed to get beat.
  18. Ok sorry, hope I wasn't too rude. They both were in Atlanta, so I thought you were just making that assumption. Edit- On a second thought, Chris Miller makes your point so much better than Chris Chandler lol. And I agree on your second point.
  19. He gets practice rounds, they're called practice. It's a completely false equivalency. Practice rounds have no pressure, you can take different shots, try different strategies without the pressure of it being scrutinized and broadcast to the public. It's very similar to an NFL practice where he is still throwing, trying to make reads, working on footwork and what not at a slightly greater pace. Rather than dropping back, getting destroyed, feel the anxiety of 70,000 fans. Getting the football equivalent of the yips, then having his break down in mechanics broke down and broadcast across the nation. I think some guys benefit from playing early, and others benefit from sitting a year. I think Allen might be a guy who benefits from a year to just focus on muscle memory without pressure.
  20. Chris Chandler and Brett Favre were never teammates. But I see one moron thanked you for your post that makes no sense... So let's roll with it.
  21. It's really not even worth it with him. When you make points he finds himself unable to defend, rather than concede it, he just mutates the argument into something you weren't talking about. He's very good at reshaping the debate. It's really weird, this Alabama obsession. I mean that's how they are in that state so I get it a bit, but if he's from there, why the Bills? Go like Dallas Again, whenever the guy says something that is flat out wrong, or he can't really defend. The argument mutates into something that it never was. So he was a dud and this guy knew... Said it in Dareus's second season, but everyone knows that means he'll have a couple exceptional seasons after that, but it's fool's gold.
  22. I didn't think there was a murmur indicative of anything. I do think it was interesting a joke of that nature existed. Since most of people in buffalo were aware of how scummy Brandon was, and nothing specific ever came to light, care to share? People who hate on Whaley are unreasonable for the most part. He had his bad moves, chiefly the Watkins trade. But these guys are trotting out jokes told by guys who were cut by him. Fitz and Fred are bitter towards Whaley? No way. Those guys had a chance to be successful before him and after him. They didnt do it either time. Cutting fred as much as I like him, and thought it was more of a rex move, was the right move at that time. He did nothing after that.
  23. Well yea, that is exactly what I meant. I'm free to judge however I want. It's my right, why shouldn't I? Plenty of people say they don't judge, well I do. The people who don't say the judge, don't believe them. You're inherently making a judgment by not judging. In this instance, I'd say you are judging as well. But yea, in my meaningless judgment, can't stress meaningless enough. She's a liar, he's probably a liar, and they're both dumb. Don't really care about either of them or what happens to them. Hope they both make millions. Doesn't matter to me except when Foster plays the Bills. Only connection I have to him. Man, you really respond conveniently to try to fix the argument in a very favorable way to yourself. Are you a lawyer? I don't think you're a lawyer, I think you'd challenge yourself more if you were one. But I bet you could make a great ambulance chaser. I actually think this is spot on. I'm also putting my own experiences into this, very good point.
  24. It has always been guilty until proven innocent in the public eye man. It's how people are wired. That's why the court of public opinion doesn't mean anything.
  25. I'm sorry for what you went through, I know people who have been through the same thing, even in my estimation, wrongly convicted. They didnt get the domestic charges but got other ones associated with it. But this is telling about your view of this issue. You can't just insert yourself into Reuben fosters position. Anyways, we'll probably disagree on a lot. Best of luck
