I agree. It doesn't even make sense. Lamar Jackson has been making an effort to read defenses, throw from the pocket and keep his eyes down field for almost two years now. Maybe it won't work out, but to say they are alike is just ignorant.
-
I have read he likes to capitalize on strengths vs weaknesses. More on a week to week basis though, and i hope he does that. However, I can't go off the unknown. McDermott hired a guy originally who wanted a pocket passer under center. I think it's fair to assume that's what he'd prefer. What I'm saying already happened, what you're talking about is something you'd hope would change. Do you want Tyrod back? Or a mobile qb? That is kind of the argument you are making, or are you just making an argument for the sake of it?

Well, it's quite simple and they were in these things they call paragraphs. We use them to separate thoughts. Coaches have shown they won't take advantage of an athletic qb, which is fine. It's a difference in philosophy, how they went about it, I'll disagree with. Buffalo bills fans obsession with the great white hope is a joke, it's flat out wrong. Peterman sucks. I was out at a bar for the playoff game, and people actually cheered when they saw peterman coming in. It's a joke and embarrassing. People are warming up to Alex Smith and he sucks too. He went a whole season without throwing a td pass to a wr. So yea it is a black thing going on with the fan base in my opinion. If you feel offended by that it's probably because their is some truth to it. But yea you're simple.

This would be the worst place for Jackson. The coaches already showed they won't support a mobile qb and use that to their advantage. He may be able produced from the pocket, he's shown an effort of doing this in college. But with the great white American hope behind him, I hope this coach staff doesn't subject another black qb to the overwhelming stupidity that is a buffalo bills fan.

Getting it together and wishing him success as an NFL qb who would earn millions of dollars are two different things. I'm sorry my post was clearly too complicated for you to understand so you had to simplify it in such a way. But if you'd like to discuss race, consider me up for it. It also wasn't one sentence. And yea that's nitpicking but that's about what you did to my post, but what I just said is actually factual.

You're defending your clearly I'll conceived position with opinions that would be widely dismissed by anyone with out a predisposition to irrationally hate Kaepernick. Manziel didn't show anything that he could perform at the NFL level. Kaepernick won playoffs game. It's not even debatable that Kaepernick is the better pro. It's a flat out lie to say otherwise. The fact that some in this fan base, not to give them credit for it, tried to run Dareus out of town and still talk **** about him, then claim they want the best for manziel is just utterly ridiculous.

You realize those are all terrible examples to your point. Mario Williams was the highest defensive played ever at that point when he signed that contract. TO was old, and overpaid. Charles Clay was a restricted free agent, Bills built that contract so Miami couldn't match and no one else wanted to. He took the most money. Tyrod wanted a chance to start. Other teams wanted him to wait behind a guy. Here he was immediately in a qb competition unlike anywhere else. Kyle orton... no one wanted !@#$ing Kyle Orton. Did He? In social activism... I'm not hating on him for doing it, I'm just questioning what he has done since he retired and floated the idea of coming back. Understand, to make what you are saying true, these accomplishments have to have taken place from August on. I'll give you all of August because I'm pretty sure you're just making this up. I'm sure he really would have made a difference in that 10-3 game. Really regretting not getting all those targets. He probably would have been traded for a !@#$ing 7th round pick before the season began. Why would any wr sign with this team?

What would it (realistically) take to get Alex Smith?
Ol Dirty B replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stop reading when you're putting Alex Smith above Tyrod. Keep the draft pick and draft a guy. But yea, you're smarter than everyone. Douche. Or just pay less for a veteran. I don't think you actually think about what you're saying. I'm sure you've stopped reading by now, but I'm not so sure if it's a choice. I'd rather watch Tyrod than see this !@#$s opinion again. That should be good though, right? Because the guy stopped reading. !@#$ off you arrogant ass. You're also a moron giving up a 3rd for that. Andy, since you are on a first name basis, is fleecing you dumping that salary and 5 years of usage. -

I think your mischaracterizing me but maybe not. I'd rather watch Tyrod than Alex Smith. But if we're going to Alex Smith, I'd rather just suck and get a high pick. Neither of those guys are winning two games in January and if you don't do that, what's the point. The stretch run in December was not amazing. The most exciting play all year this team had didnt even involve the bills. December games were awful. Did you watch them? Pats loss - boring, no offensive td Colts win- only entertaining because of the snow, the football was not entertaining Pats loss - boring, 2 out of 3 games with out an offensive td Dolphins win- boring, dolphins were flat, bills did what they needed and the game didn't matter given the help they needed. December... was boring. But you can go on some purist bs or whatever and how you just love your football. If this is winning to you, then I feel bad for you. They've been 9-7 before, the team wasn't good this year. They lucked in. -
Everyone Talks Trade Up For QB, But What If....

I think we should package our two firsts for sammy again so everyone who still bitches about that trade will finally make the jump. -

This is the most accurate post I believe. Don't want to make the move either. 4th if we have to take on 20 mil. No one is trading a 1st for him, that's a joke. Only way I see a team giving up a first is a contender stuck in a jam due to injury in august. I don't want him. I think Peterman sucks and I'd rather watch him for a year than watch Alex smith. The whole world thinks those three are better, especially Newton and Stafford. Like the guy I called out for saying 80% of Zay' s passes were uncatchable, and then he went and cited statistics which was half of that. You're just throwing out numbers. They're wrong. Alex Smith isn't a top 10 QB and he is marginally better than Tyrod, if at all. He had a much better offensive coaching staff in KC, much more talent around him. We talk about Tyrod not throwing to WR's, Alex Smith went a !@#$ing year without throwing a td pass to a receiver. And some of you now want to call him top 10, think he's worth a 1st or even want him on the team. If you fall into any of those 3 categories I have no problem dismissing you as a !@#$ing moron. Alex Smith sucks. -

Great point. I'm not a Trump fan by any means but this is just convenient. Anyone who actually takes a moment to think about it sees that Rogers communications involved in the bid knows the Toronto move was almost inevitable. I'm not a Marlins fan or baseball fan, but I almost always find the ownership/management of sports teams interesting. What they are going through with Jeter owning the team beholden to other larger investors in that market is easily what could have happened with bon jovi. It's cut salary, attendance dips, complain about sustainability and move. -

It was about power, not money. Do you ever say anything that is accurate or are you 24/7 on an acid trip? No I'll take a pats win. I've learned how to deal with their winning and they beat everyone. I don't want to have to deal with Marrone and Dareus winning. No thanks. Listening to 2 weeks of Marrone praise, no thanks. -
WNY ratings for National Championship
Ol Dirty B replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in College Football
They were undefeated and Auburn' s inspiration isn't their problem. Auburn was playing for a playoff spot in that sec championship game. That's not really middling. But whatever finebaum tells ya, go for it. -
Bradford will be the Available Viking QB
Ol Dirty B replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very good comparison. I would argue Flacco was a former first rounder, and had a good career to that before falling off the face of the earth after that amazing playoff run. So they would be more inclined than the Vikings are to extend Keenum. But I agree, great example. -

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is... are you advertising a garage sale? I was just thinking of Bryce Paup today... very weird, I know. I was thinking of the poster I had in my mom's apartment as a kid. It said snap, crackle, and Paup, on the bottom, playing off the rice crispies advertising at the time. I can't place the third lb, I'm sure I'll find it on Google in a minute but maybe you could recall. It was Bryce Paup, Chris spielman, and who damn it? Not John Holcek was it? -
Fair point. I could be wrong... but JJ Watt is not a superstar. He has 1.5 sacks over the last two years... I think you could find a lot of guys who are/were superstars and talented who people would question their character. From Randy Moss, TO, to Lesean McCoy, Leveon Bell. Ben Rothlisberger. I guess it's what you consider high character... Ray Lewis, Burfict, Talib... I guess I just don't put much stock in to the character thing and think just care about on field production. I don't see much correlation between the two, only in extreme cases.
-
Why do high character guys usually lack talent? What are you talking about? I don't like threads like this because I almost always side with talent over the coach, and most football fans always choose their team or the coach. They did treat him like a nobody. They didn't play him, then they traded him for nothing and took on a bunch of money. It's ridiculous.

You said 80% of his targets were not catchable. In no way what you just said, you know, where you actually look up statistics defend what you said. Lol at you thinking you just dropped the mic or hit a walk off. You just showed you were just throwing out numbers that weren't close to what was real. -
At what point do we say Antonio Brown is the GOAT?

Very fair and accurate distinction. It's up to everyone what they value more. -

It'll be unpopular, especially in Buffalo. But Randy moss was the best I ever saw do it.
