  1. That's amusing coming from a guy who consistently creates his own narrative..saying peterman has a stronger arm than Drew Brees when nothing has been shown in live action that remotely backs up that opinion. Drew Brees doesn't struggle throwing the deep out.. hes shown the ability to make all the throws which peterman has not. If you watch football you've seen time and time again brees shred defences on all levels..Peterman throws near ..pick 6 ..interceptions on every pass he attempted that are the " velocity" throws the deep out. You can find 100 scouting reports for Cam Newton and all of them will mention his arm strength as a positive infact his scouting reports are very similar to josh allen hence why the comparison was made here on the board and in the media .
  2. Your opinion isn't evidence either im not gonna go back and forth with you all night. we agree to disagree its fine life goes on.. and the scouting report said..what does puts tons of revolution on the ball mean to you ...what does flashes the ability to zip the ball into tight spots those are references to throwing with great velocity. from a prior thread comparing allen to cam newton. Your the only one interpreting his scouting report incorrectly if you cant even understand the terms used by the scouting community to describe velocity what credibility do you even have? https://twitter.com/JonScottTV/status/991030647883026432 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/cam-newton?id=2495455 ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Newton has a rare blend of height, strength and speed. Fierce competitor and emotional leader. Flashes the ability to zip the ball into tight spots. Has a quick, over-the-top delivery. Puts a ton of revolutions on the ball and can make all the throws. Frequently evades the rush for second-chance opportunities. Threat to pick up large chunks when he tucks.
  3. Did you just choose to skip over that post by hapless bills fan..because it didnt line up with your thoughts? 2nd of all you lost all credibility you had from the first page when you said cam newton didnt have a big arm and then posted an article from nfl.com that said the opposite and listed velocity as one of his strengths..then you deleted your post upon realizing your mistake. I never said measurements at the combine are bunk data completely i said that set of data by ourlads on this very forum has been debunked multiple times for being inaccurate.
  4. That article has been debunked multiple times for having inaccurate data..clearly you missed the point i was making. The point i was making was that the data doesn't line up with what i've seen it has nothing to do with having better eyes than a laser radar gun. Data has been wrong before and will be in the future..in 2010 taylor mays official 40 time was 4.43 despite nfl network simulcast showing him beating people who ran a 4.34 https://www.sbnation.com/2010/3/3/1334838/-taylor-mays-40-time-nfl-combine-2010-draft. My point is the data looked inaccurate because its widely known joe flacco has elite velocity..so how could he have less velocity then andy dalton whos not known for having a huge arm.
  5. Thats true but montana could still make all the throws..the question is can peterman keep the defence honest..he definitely has shown to be extremely accurate in the middle of the field and he gets the ball out quick and goes through his progressions i guess well find out sunday
  6. Try to actually contribute to a discussion. All you've done this entire topic is respond with juvenile level attempts of sarcasm you've contributed absolutely nothing. You can disagree with someone while maintaining a level of decorum.
  7. It's not about the numbers..I'm saying I can def see in person and on tv a difference with how hard Flacco throws vs Peterman .just like I can tell when I watch NBA that Russell Westbrook is faster than Kyle Lowry or that Connor McDavid in the NHL skates faster than max pacciorety..point is you can definitely visually perceive things it's not some super complex insight .
  8. Great job failing to understand that you can perceive things with your eyes genius . I don't need scientific data to tell me that Deshaun Watson has a stronger arm than Nate peterman. That's the point..the data is showing oddities that don't show up on Sundays. Joe Flacco has an absolute cannon arm yet the data shows he only throwers the football 1 mph more than Peterman and his arm is weaker than Andy Dalton..believe the data blindly if u want it's irrelevant to me I'll trust my eyes .
  9. who said anything about distance being the measure of velocity..velocity is shown on deep outs and passes you have to drive ..any nfl qb can throw it deep 50 yards even chad pennington could..and guess what passes peterman struggles on ..sideline velocity throws. and the link you just sent says "Flashes the ability to zip the ball into tight spots. Has a quick, over-the-top delivery. Puts a ton of revolutions on the ball and can make all the throws" so i dont know if you were trying to help your argument but you made it worse. I watched cam at auburn he had excellent velocity and he was known for having zip from day 1 nice try tho. the link you sent also says "Newton is one of the most athletically gifted quarterbacks in draft history. Possesses a quick, clean release, enough arm strength to complete the deep out" yeah i agree with what you said here peterman has definetely shown so far hes very accurate when his feet are set..but their styles are a bit different drew loves to go vertical peterman is more like brady of the most recent years accurate short passes slants
  10. I will continue to use my eyes and my brain. Like i said if you think Cam Newton Known for having an absolute cannon arm and the combine point has no merit..because Cam had a cannon at Auburn and if you think has the same velocity on his passes as ryan nassib or andy dalton ..then you need to get your eyes checked. I don't need scientific data to tell me that aaron rodgers has a significantly stronger arm then drew brees..or tyrod taylor or matt ryan i can see that on the field by the velocity in their passes..its not that hard to comprehend
  11. certainly you should be able to realize by now that theres a flaw in those numbers..use your eyes if you think Joe Flacco has a weaker arm than andy dalton then you clearly dont know how to judge velocity..deshaun watson made throws last year that peterman has no ability to make yet the list says his arm is significantly weaker than petermans..dont use data thats clearly skewed to show your personal bias. Cam newton has an absolute cannon according to that list he has a weaker arm than mark sanchez no one would agree with that.
  12. Umm what Games are you watching...Drew Brees has very good velocity on his passes what made you think he lacked arm strength his size?
  13. cousins actually has a really strong arm...petermans arm compares moreso to chad pennington
  14. Lmao what a terrible throw by mcarron no zip
  15. What he brings to the table can be found at a cheaper price..instead of spending on the oline where we lost the whole left side..he overspends on star because hes familiar with him from carolina..why did carolina let him go..for the same reason im seeing so far..reduced impact..other than his rookie year his impact has been getting less and less prounounced hes graded as one of the worst dts in the league last year..
  16. Anyone who blames Allen for todays debacle doesnt know football..The offensive line was atrocious...the wrs had trouble separating. Could he have gotten rid of the ball a hair sooner sure..but just contrast the time he had to dalton or barkley..on the td pass to aj green dalton has over 3 seconds to throw..on the one play in the first half allen barely finishes his drop before ducasses is pushed right back into his lap.
  17. yeah..the guy is being paid 10 million a year..im expecting a bigger impact for that kinda contract
  18. hes excellent against the run thats his value...in other aspects hes never gonna wow us
  19. I honestly havent seen anything from other than being pushed back..he was pushed around by the bengals today
  20. This is becoming a situation like a couple years ago when pays fired their ol coach and brought back scarnezzia or w.e his name is...this online unit is the worst in the entire league by a longshot ..the players are terrible but what is Castillo doing to improve this
  21. Even last season the line wasn't this bad . Beane and McDermott have to address this our olime is bad enough to get the 1st overall pick
  22. Vontae has to go..Ross beat him on that slant like nothing
  23. Its because first and foremost he was good last preseason as well . And he's making all the throws we already know Peterman is decent at ..soft tosses over the middle slants..quick fades. The minute he has to throw outside..the ball has no velocity on it and it's nearly pick 6..he's limited as a passer because of his physical limitations it's hard to get behind a guy who you know limits the playbook. He struggles to even to get adequate zip on a simple quick out .
  24. I was never a believer in EJ it baffles me to this day how a former professional scout turned gm could think he was good . Even his " YouTube highlights " were not impressive . He had such an unnatural release at FSU and Hackett and Marrone tried to " fix " it and it made it even worse. For a guy with a big arm his passes lacked velocity ..Ill never forgot the game I believe vs jets where Marrone nearly lost his mind cus ej kept throwing vertical and corner routes way outta bounds .
  25. That's a very good overlooked pt ..theres different types of throwers ..Josh Allen is never gonna be the peyton/Brees/ brady hit the back foot spray 40 passes a game for 380 yards with pinpoint accuracy ...think of him like a big Ben or Russ Wilson or Carson Wentz guys who throw the ball with excellent velocity and are productive on explosive plays rather than pinpoint accuracy .
