as much as i want a top qb pick, im really hoping we don't give up next year's first to get there. We might not be very good at qb this season, with the rookie and AJ. Next years pick could be a top five.

im glad we kickoff at, 1pm every game but the one Monday night. No Thursday short week crap and no offshore games. sweet

kicker. huge advantage on kickoffs, wins me multiple games per season with 60 yard field goals. Hauschka is a good kicker and got us in the playoffs last year. Kicking cost us Seattle and Miami games two years ago with Carpenter.

philly is being cocky, they forgot how pathetic their defense is, probably the worst performance by a defense in superbowl history. They can't afford to have Foles on the bench and get nothing for him next year when they could get a solid rookie starter for the guy and pray they can sneak back into the superbowl.

As people get older they want warmer, more comfortable stadiums. I like the Ralph and think they could do one more renovation to it (allowing a warming area for all fans) and it would be perfect for me. These new stadiums are so glitzy and bright and there's electronics absolutely everywhere--I like tailgating, going in the stadium for 3.5 hours, get a few beers, a sandwich and leave. 8 times per year, maybe 10 if you have a great team. That totals about 30 hours of total football time per year: we don't need to spend stupid money so we can be a little more comfortable for 24-30 hours a year.

i think that's exactly what they'll do. Possibly a DT before Oline on their 3rd pick but for sure qb and MIKE. In fact, if they only got two great ones at those two positions it's a successful draft no matter what else happens.

Whatever the Patriots do, they'll screw it up. Belichick is an idiot with personnel moves. I can't wait to see them burn their two first rounders on busts. Last year they were so depleted at LB they were signing scrubs off our practice squad. Poor planning by the GM, just as bad as his trades.

Cordy Glenn is not a key starter, and Wood has an experienced backup in Groy. I'm not freaking out about Olinemen. Richie hurt, but that's all. John Miller at LG? He was a beast late season his rookie year. Where are ya Johnny?

His highlights are sick. Looks like a big Antoine Winfield with perfect tackling form and the angles he takes to the runners. This is why I was hoping we'd sign a FA qb like Cousins or Foles, so we could stay put and get some top dogs like this guy for our defense .

I see the perfect scenario being Giants stay put and take Barkley, we trade w the Browns for that #4 spot and get our qb AND pay a lot less than getting to #2.

Chubb will still be there at 4th pick, and will probably go to some other team after 5 years if he's elite. The Browns ability to sign all these high picks in 4 and 5 years will be very compromised. The QB they want might not be there at 4, so I don't see the logic in picking Chubb 1st and then watching two qb's come off the board. It makes zero sense. Also, if your qb is elite you keep him for a dozen or more years. That said, if Chubb is a monster, I could not imagine how good the pass rush would be with Garrett on the other side. Jailbreak City.

this is very compelling, you make your point well here, but there seems to be a significantly greater chance in this draft of having 2 or more very good qb's, unlike the last draft we picked a qb first round, when there were zero good ones (due respect to geno and ej's mothers)

This makes me think the guy has CTS or something. Tweeting a few days ago about being pumped for the season, then firing his agent on twitter, then saying his kidneys and liver are shutting down from stress (wha?), and talking about the HOF. It's like someone swiped our beloved #68 and replaced him with a malfunctioning clone. Personally I think he knows he has one year left and sees all the crazy money being paid out with these huge deals and looks at his $6M as half of what a pro bowl guard is worth. So he fires his agent, says he's retiring, and waits to see what the counter offer is for Richie. I say smart move. Squeeze out a couple more mil before you go.

Yes I agree with the Mikester here. Your QB is around for a dozen years or more if he's the right pick. We will go through several complete roster turnovers in that time. While the OP raises a great point, I still don't think it changes your draft strategy and the simple fact that QB's picked higher generally have a better chance of success. Although I must say it would be a really fun experience to draft just a bunch of Oline and a WR across the board and see how McCarron and Peterman do. Might prove the point he's brought up.

Yes Salary and draft pick wise we have things under control. Will have some major free agent spending money available next off season. Still, as much as I like Beane's moves, I wonder how we would have done against Jacksonville if we still had Sammy on our team. Considering all we had to score was 11 points to win our first playoff game, I'd say Beane probably made a mistake dumping Sammy for EJ Gaines and a 2nd rounder this year. Tyrod's best target who he had years of chemistry with, conspicuously absent on a day when we desperately needed a big play or two through the air. Who knows, Sammy may not have been healthy, and Gaines did play well for us in half of our games this season--we still have that draft pick. I think it would have been a different game with Watkins, and I'm sure McD was wondering the same thing at the end of the game when the scoreboard showed our whopping 3 points. My point is, it's great to clean house, but sometimes dumping good players can hurt you, especially if you go further than you thought you would and find yourself in a post season matchup and lay an egg. But we'll never know, and now we have the pick to show for it, so let's turn the page (wiping tears off my sammy jersey)

look where all the mock drafts had Brady Quinn when he fell to 22

here in the ROC we are mostly bills fans but when the Giants do well (and ONLY when they do well) you start to see quite a few Gmen fans wearing stuff. Going further east to Cuse, it seems like maybe half Bills and the rest Giants Jets. Gonna see a lot more Browns fans soon if they pop this draft like I hope they do. Can't wait to see us and the Browns with two elite qb's.

Almost all qb's will eventually start their rookie year, they usually get in there by week 12 at the latest but obviously depends on a million things like how the current starter is playing, bye weeks, development, injuries, strength of opponent etc I will say I agreed with Peterman going in when he did because there was essentially no crowd noise problem with that temp stadium the Chargers played in (and Tyrod stunk it up badly the previous few weeks) but we underestimated that Chargers pass rush--or maybe coach Lynn just knew how to exploit guys like Mills--but that was the worst game of the year protection wise, and was obviously a nightmare first start because of it. The bottom line is throw three good qb's in camp, all of them will have good potential, and see who emerges. Maybe the rook does sit out the whole year, that would be a good thing in many ways.

they havent done it because of savvy management or drafting moves. Don't confuse Bill the executive GM with Bill the X's and O's guy. He's an excellent gameplanner with an awesome qb. Thats it. Don't need to read the Art of War to know that.

Giants won't trade out for what Pats have to offer. They're not trading back 21 spots in this draft. Beane is so far ahead of them its silly. Don't forget the difference between a legit NFL GM and dopey Belichick/Kraft. Pats last trade was dumping Chandler Jones, the best DE in football last year. Then they sat there and watched their crappy pass rush get zero pressure on Foles and lost the superbowl because of it. Oh wait, that was their second to last trade. The other was Jimmy G for a second round pick hahahahahahaha. GENIUSSSSSSSSSSS

No idea. If you look at all our qb pressures and sacks from last year that weren't simply the qb holding the ball too long, Davis had half of them on a limited snap count. Obviously our coaches know better than I do, but releasing a cheap productive pass rusher seems ridiculous. Maybe he struggled against the run or was a coverage liability or head case. Certainly knows how to hunt qb's.
