  1. You forgot KBenjamins beautiful push off penalty on 1st and goal on the most critical play of our first playoff game in 17 years. The laziest, most headscratching play I've seen from a Bills WR ever. 3rd down from the 1, I could see trying to get away with a little push, but he did a blatant push off on 1st down as the isolated WR right in front of the ref. A high school player knows better. I believe that play cost us the game, we held Fournette and Bortles to 56 yds rushing and 87 yds passing respectively.
  2. Not really. Oline played a decent game outside of Groy vs Chargers. Too bad Teller isn't a center. Maybe we could put a headset in his mic and have Eric Wood call the assignments out from the booth. It worked when Newman did it for Kramer in the library....
  3. Yup. PFF score doesn't take into account a lot of things like that. Star is adequate, had a better game 2 than game 1. Seemed to hold his ground and slide along the line without going backwards pretty well from what I saw. We overpaid for the guy, but I'd rather have him than not have him
  4. Next year 10 draft picks and $100m in cap room. Potential franchise qb coming into second year. Thats the opposite of bad shape. Did you expect a turnaround after 1 season?
  5. This is the year of the QB for us. That's just the reality. McCarron didn't pan out, Beane should have signed Teddy Bridgewater instead, but he gambled on a guy who's entire pro career highlights were essentially throws to A.J. Green who obviously makes all qb's look great. So here we are starting a kid who isn't ready, but sure is fun to watch. Big, tough, mobile--looked pretty good for a guy that's only played two years at a mid size college program. Next year we have 10 picks and $100M in cap space. So just accept what IS, and not what you thought we would be this year. If it's not fun for you watch hockey or buy a Fitz tampa jersey.
  6. Me too. I didnt care at all that we lost. A good franchise qb is with your team for 15 years, I know the wins will come if Josh keeps improving. He's a gamer and he showed today he's tough and strong.
  7. First half was simply a continuation of Baltimore game. Middle/underneath stuff was open and easy completions for Rivers. Embarassing. Frasier can't be that bad is he? Does our DC suck now? How hard is it to see whats going wrong out there for an experienced detail oriented guy like Frasier?
  8. And we spend the least amount of money in salary than any other team in the league. By a lot. In addition, we are killing over $50M in dead money this year, the average is about $15 million and the next closest team to us is Dallas which is $27M. Don't judge McD on developing anyone yet, the guy hasn't even started his second season for god's sake. We can't do anything this year except develop our qb and try to have some fun along the way. It's a tough pill to swallow short term but that's what we're doing and there's only one way to do it which is gamble on a qb and hope he pans out, then try to have your cap in shape so when you're ready to make your run it's still within the qb's 5 year rookie deal (and Edmunds) and you can pay some big free agents. Next year we have all of our picks plus an extra 4th (Ragland trade) 5th (Mccarron) and a 7th (kevon Seymour).
  9. Start Holmes and Kerley, Croom and Clay for targets that can actually catch the ball. Two tight ends all day in various formations. Bring in Ray Ray or Foster for a change of pace. Foster showed some nice playing speed last week. Croom Holmes and Clay all huge targets with big catch radius and strong hands. Croom might be the best of the bunch. Sorry Zay and KB but you guys have slippery ball syndrome and I don't expect it will improve with Josh's lasers. We can't afford to have these freaking drops any more. No empty backfield until we see Miller and Groy are playing adequate ball, otherwise we need a running back to chip in and help the middle from collapsing. Good for play action, good for Josh's health, good for draw plays. I don't care who it is, but you might want to start with Dimarco or Ivory. Don't be afraid to swap in Bodine or Teller inside if Groy/Miller can't keep up. My biggest worry is Daboll tries to dink and dunk which is not Josh's game at all. We need to be running the full route tree out there and give the kid some north/south shots, especially over the middle. Foster is a big boy, let him take some shots over the middle. I'd say get Shady in space, but I hate when people say get a shifty guy in space as if coordinators never thought of that before. Of course they want him in space, it's not that easy in the NFL. Ask Spiller or Roscoe Parrish. Get Rivers frustrated somehow. Even if it's crowd mooning.
  10. The staring down is something most qb's carry over from college and either lose it quickly in the NFL or they're done playing. Allen is already pretty good at looking off. In fact, I can't think of one aspect of Josh's game where he isn't already ahead of Peterman. Possibly in presnap reads and alignments but that's not translating to post snap stuff/results so the decision on who to start is automatically made for McD.
  11. Yeah he did have time to throw. It wasn't a jailbreak type of day from what I saw, the Oline did OK in protection, especially considering Daboll didn't have the guts to try running it three times in a row, or even two. In a game when we needed less of Peterman and more of Shady, the OC should realize how important it is for your Oline to run block on multiple consecutive plays. They get to hit instead of be hit, and it energizes them.
  12. Dont worry. Allen will get the start. Unfortunately so will Benjamin, Kerley and Zay. Mills might get lucky with Bosa out
  13. 8.5 Points is a total joke. I'm telling you right now Bills fans, I almost never bet on my own team, but this is a full 4.5 points off where it should be. They will have some new plays with Lamar in there, but other than that it's Joe Freakin Flacco and an Oline that can't protect him. The same team that couldn't stop the lowly Bengals from coming into their house in a meaningless game and keep them out of the playoffs. I'm not guaranteeing a Bills win, but remember the last REAL game we played this defense held Fournette to 21 carries 57 yards. It will be more of the same tomorrow. One of the worst lines I've seen and it's based on people freaking out about first half of preseason game against Cinci. No Shady, No Dawk, No Kyle, No Gameplanning. No nothing. Bills win this one 20-19 and I'm collecting an easy $250
  14. And if the catch rule wasn't screwed up royally, that total would have been 225.
  15. The Ravens are not a good pick in week one. Unless they have some sort of Lamar Jackson big play gimmick stuff, they'll be flat on offense as usual.
  16. With a quarter of their schedule against cleveland and cinci. Hey I'm not saying they suck, but they're a 500 team and it was bugging me with everyone acting like they're some powerhouse. There was a time last year when joltin joe flacco was on pace to throw more picks than td's. He's very inconsistent. They'll have some wrinkles with Lamar that will surprise us, but other than that its the same ol 16-19 ppg Ravens. Run, play tough D, let Joe take a few deep shots when the box is stacked. For what its worth, I got an 8 point spread bet in on the Bills (was going to lay off but it kept moving up so I had to act) and this is gonna be the easiest $250 of the year.
  17. Everyone is acting like Baltimore is some badass team. They added nothing in the offseason, and couldn't stop the Bengals from marching down the field in a meaningless game (for Cinci) to keep them out of the playoffs. I'm not saying they're awful, but stop pretending this is more than a 500 team, and that's with two Cleveland gimme's every year. Flacco will throw an INT. Collins isn't Fournette, and the last time this defense with almost the exact same personnel took the field on the road in Jax we facepunched Fournette for 57 yards on 21 carries. Some of you guys sound like such weenies with your negativity. Get some optimism and get behind your team, and stop hiding behind your "I'm just being a realist" crap. I don't care what happens on the first play, other than our Oline playing solid so everyone will stop thinking some preseason game against the Bengals is in any way an accurate representation of what you'll see this season.
  18. Wow, some folks forget how clutch TD Mike was for us. The team has moved on from him and the jury is still out on Milano, but Mike had the best yard per carry in the NFL for us that year and was more than just a red zone guy. He won us games.
  19. Groy will start but man he'd better be ready for that same Atkins punch/swim move that he got embarassed with against Cinci. That was ugly.
  20. Me too. And then in rookie camp he started really strong and looked so explosive. There was a time when we though Adolphus and John Miller were 1st round talents that dropped and we were lucky to get them, and they both seem to have diminishing productivity on the field.
  21. after this ridiculous offseason of giving huge guaranteed money to the NFL stars (which is going to bury some teams down the road, mark my words--$85M guaranteed to Aaron Donald are you kidding me?), and considering Mack was an NFL defensive player of the year (Whaley you idiot, did you really have to take Sammy instead?) this dude is going to get a massive deal from somebody and it's more of a money thing with the Raiders than Gruden's ego getting in the way. There are really only a handful of teams in the league that have the room to pay a 27 year old edge guy $100M and the Raiders aren't one of them. I think he has to get traded for this reason, and the Raiders have to be looking at Cleveland, Bills, Jets simply because they'll likely be higher draft picks next year vs a Green Bay type team.
  22. Nah. Ravens look exactly like last year, no rooks starting that will have an impact. Oline and Dline not very good down in Balt. Dixon will be surprise runner of the year though, and their dBacks are excellent. Bills win this one 17-13 because our Oline isn't that bad with Dawk back in there, and Shady Murph Ivory combo moves them chains all day baby.
  23. The offseason is almost over The offseason is almost over Please oh please just be over
  24. Just because the game was won doesn't mean the coach didn't make any errors. I agree with St. Pete, that punt never should have happened. We won because the best kicker of all time missed a kick from the 9 yard line, another 42 yarder, and we had a super lucky endzone call at the end to keep things alive. The point is if you have a great offense and want to coach conservatively that's one thing, but if you have one of the worst offenses in the league you'll need to have some balls and take some risks here and there. The NO challenge flag in a meaningless Bengals preseason game in front of a huge crowd was ridiculously weak considering you rookie qb just layed out for a dive to move the sticks and got damn close (worst case it's 4th and inches and a great way to play smashmouth with Ivory and get your Oline and Josh Allen some confidence). I don't buy the "it's just preseason" crap. It's team football and you're looking for good things to build on, so McD needs to lose the bra sometimes and go for it. (i don't mean Mike Tomlin stupid, just don't be a puss)
  25. I was calling for him to be fired as soon as I heard he worked for the Patriots. Not really. Daboll has spent so much time working with Allen and installing this new system at the same time that the Oline hasn't been his priority. It is now. Especially since some of the mistakes upfront were communication and assignment confusion, which is primarily on the coaches. The technique stuff is probably too late to improve very much at this point, but who knows. Granted we didn't have our best Olineman out there, we had no Shady either. So basically the two pro bowlers on our offense were both sitting against the Bengals (yeah Dawk will get voted in this year). So they'll have an impact. And now the spotlight is on prepping our Oline for Baltimore in 11 days and you can bet Daboll understands his offense is crap without the O line functioning.
