  1. Yeah I don't know what he's talking about either. I watched the whole Jets game on dvr, he is SUCH a rookie still. Some horrible throws and misreads. Also had a few nice touch passes, but he's sub .500 completion material against good dbacks. One of his picks wasn't his fault but he failed to see a lot of the field and it cost him.
  2. He wasn't a slam dunk prospect or the dozen teams that passed on him would have picked him and the rest of the league would have traded up to get him if they had known he would turn out this way. We got lockdown Tredavious instead, and used the capital to help swing two high first round picks for a QB and LB to run our offense and defense for the next decade, and we're not even halfway through the 1st season, but someone should be fired because of Mahomes doing well? Get real man.
  3. Hopefully he comes out after this year. Any chance at that?
  4. Now all the calls seem to start with a deep sigh and tears. Then a rant that usually implies McD is responsible for drafting and signing players.
  5. Hmmmm. Best runner in the league Best Interior DL in the league Franchise qb What coach wouldn't do well?
  6. They're resilient too. Have a knack for pulling off plays when they really need to. Two nfl'ers on the squad thats exciting.
  7. Mine too. I wish we had never picked him up. He lost the Jax playoff game for us on that ridiculous pushoff in the endzone. His only good play was the snow catch TD
  8. I would pay for him too. We had two shots at him, one in free agency, and again when the Jets started putting trade feelers out for him. The guy is so much more of an upside than McCarron was, whose highlight films are basically all throwing to AJ Green. For some reason everyone seems to imply that Teddy is going to be injured his whole career and ignores the fact that he showed some amazing flashes at Minnesota. He was the best FA qb out there, showed it in camp and preseason, and I will bet you a million bucks that if Beane could turn the clock back today he would have jumped on Teddy. I believe he's the best backup in the league, and here we are with the worst backup in the league, yet people think giving up a 5th rounder doesn't make sense? Most 5th round picks are out of football in two years if they make the team at all.
  9. I think if Peterman has a better week in camp he will go. Daboll will need to eliminate the tough throws, but expecting Anderson to come in and just pick up an offense is impossible. Maybe a running qb could do it, but a pocket passer, i dunno. Still pissed we didn't get Teddy Bridge. We had two chances, one in the offseason and then the Jets/Saints move. Way better than McCarron, ever notice all his highlights are wide open AJ Green throws?
  10. Imagine if Peterboy was drafted under Rex, he wouldn't have made training camp. Way too much player allegiance from McD. I think he's such a great dude that he gets too attached, the opposite of Belichick. Maybe shoot for somewhere in between.
  11. Good enough to beat Houston if we had reasonable special teams and average discipline to avoid penalties. Josh would be 3-2 in his first NFL starts after playing only two seasons of big boy football in college. Don't expect great from a rookie qb, just Good Enough. Big Ben was 160 ypd average on 17 TD's and 11 picks his rookie year. Similar teams too, great defense, not a lot of offensive genius helping him along the way.
  12. Yeah Bill didn't have much to do with that. He just ran a great defense, and Ben took his lumps-- averaged about 160 yards a game. 17 TD throws and 11 picks on the season. Getting that first year under your belt is a necessary evil though. I'm sure he was questioned like we're doing to Josh. It's all about the weapons right now. Tyreek and Antonio Brown were late round draft picks, we need to find a gem somewhere in the draft that outperforms his draft status.
  13. Everyone wants to win. But no team is going anywhere in this league without a franchise qb. Ever. It starts and ends with that simple fact. So I'm saying if I had to pick one or the other, a win with my qb sucking or actually seeing him do well, showing progress, correct reads, mechanics, timing, pre snap adjustments, audibles, drawing a hard count penalty, accurate throws--it would mean much more to me because I'd feel better that we got the right guy. Josh has shown intelligence, drive, pocket presence and mobility thus far, but hasn't shown those other things. I wanna win 10+ games consistently for a dozen years, not hope we squeak out a .500 season every year.
  14. Agreed. Also he's got a knack for knowing if someone is coming from behind him and seems to cover up in time. Its gotta be maddening for defenders, seeing the loaf of bread all day but they can't seem to force the fumble.
  15. I agree with him. We aren't winning the superbowl this year, but we DO need to have a major draft next year. And most importantly we need the kid to develop. I'd rather see a 30 point offensive showing and progress with Josh, but lose the game rather than win like we did last week. At home I would say differently, but on the road, it's all about development. Josh has played in like 29 real football games in his life (not counting Juco stuff) He needs to show he can keep his mechanics intact, find where to go with the ball based on coverage, and hit some accurate throws. That's more important than anything- if this kid can be good he's ours for the next 15 years. Remember a higher draft spot impacts all 7 rounds too, not just the first round.
  16. They signed a big money LT and drafted the best RB since Adrian Peterson. Two huge investments to make the offense better. He has zero right to be pissed, every team has weaknesses-- he needs to grow up and be a man, start acting like a professional and lead through example and character. He's chosen to take the huge payday, avoid most of camp, throw tantrums, whine about everything and insult his teammates to the media. The people who have the right to be pissed are his teammates and the fans. $18M per year on a $90M contract with $65M guaranteed for a cancer that's getting worse. God I'm so glad we don't have that guy in Buffalo.
  17. Sammy was my favorite Bill, but we knew he was going to ask for huge money and he was just too inconsistent with those freaking injuries. He's got a nagging hammy again this year, he's 5 games in averaging 4 grabs a game, scored once. Thats with Tyreek and Kelce-both elite weapons-ahead of him and Mahomes chucking it. I dunno man, we could have definitely used him in the Jax playoff game, he wouldn't have pushed off like KB in the endzone and backed us up 10 yards off the goal line on 1st down. We used Rams 2nd round draft pick as part of the trade up to get Josh, otherwise we'd have had to burn our 22nd overall pick to move up and we wouldn't have been able to get Tremaine otherwise. Both dudes huge part of our future here. Maybe you're right though. He was so fun to watch when healthy, I miss that.
  18. Haha especially against us. Yikes. Although the guy did have a 10 win season with the Brownies. Look, every single rookie qb needs a savvy vet to help them along the way. We don't have one, and we're one Josh injury away from having Peterboy step in, so that's two reasons we need another qb on this roster immediately. There is zero chance they would sit Josh, especially after last game when he had no sacks and a game winning drive at the end. I'm amazed that one in 7 people actually think Anderson would come in and play over Josh. What are you people smoking?
  19. Yeah I wouldn't say they've traded any core players at all. The Darby trade was a bit of a head scratcher because he still had some years on the rookie deal, but Dareus and Sammy were smart unloads. Shady IS a core player, however this team is being built to make a run in one or two years, not this year. He's a 30 yr old back, that has to be considered here. Obviously all this depends on what Philly is willing to give up. How can anyone say they like it or don't when they don't know what we're getting? The Eagles screwed up badly by not trading Foles man. They set the price too high and now they're going to get nothing for the guy. Zero. They let some serious draft capital slide through their hands. Based on that foolishness alone, I see them as lowballing us for a Shady trade and nothing happening.
  20. Gee that's funny, our team seems to reward guys that drop the ball a lot and keep the guys with better upside and hands on the bench. Replace KB with Croom NOW. He was a 3 year WR in college before converting to TE, same size as KB, better blocker, way better hands, hungry, dedicated, team player, tough, earned his spot based on merit etc.
  21. I remember Fred Jackson and Ali somehow met each other and forged a friendship when he was going through the draft process, combines etc. Dude can play. Durable too.
  22. And Vrabel whined like the butthurt Patriot that he is
  23. I appreciated that too, but it wasn't even a penalty. The ref who threw the flag should have picked it up. And Dawk should wait until the 2nd or 3rd play to get a shot in, not the very next play. Thats OK he made up for it with that sweet kickout block on Jackson to spring RayRay on that huge last minute play.
  24. My brother's a football smartie, watched him every snap and was commenting along as we played D. The general take is that he's playing great ball sideline to sideline, disruptive (caused INT last week on a tip and forced fumble this week) and good already at read n react speed, but gap reads and shedding blocks in obvious run plays needs work. At least against Titans thats what he saw. Usually long armed LB's can keep those 300 pounders from getting under their pads and holding them on run plays, which they pretty much will do everytime and then let go a millisecond before the ref would flag em. Like Lorenzo Alexander says, in the NFL you get held every play, you either learn to live with it and try to counter it or you end up on the sidelines.
  25. Yeah Foster is pretty much our only burner. We will get him on a deep ball soon. Ray Ray doesn't play very fast either. He seems like he would because of his size but his game speed is average (and his 40 time) We were laughing yesterday saying if KBenj just walked on and tried out for the team as an undrafted FA, he wouldn't have survived the first cut.
