Uh Right. The idea would be to kill 2 preseason games which has been tossed around quite a bit and start the real season two weeks early. Now you're synched with MLK day, you have much happier players unions, and these grass fields people are trying to resurrect in the dead of winter will be at least a little less pure dirt by then. Would solve the Monday morning absenteeism. West coast obviously doesn't count. And your point about Saturdays everyone going out and doing errands? Wha? First of all that's not a thing, even if it's what you do. I guarantee the super bowl won't be less watched if it's on a Saturday. Do you think the 4pm game this Saturday will be LESS seen than the Sunday 4pm? It won't. My friend's bar was half full last year during the superbowl, he said he did more business on average college playoff games on fridays and saturdays than the superbowl. It's dumb, and they'll eventually change it. Once thing about the league is just about every good idea comes around eventually. How about this: Last year 2018 an estimated 1.5 million Americans chose not to go to work on the Monday after the Super Bowl, while another 4.4 million came in late, according to a study conducted by the Workforce Institute at Kronos. Estimated $3 billion cost for employers. So even though YOU go to work, it's a real issue. And the point of this thread.

Good point I never thought of that. Someone should ask Beane who they had there on the board at 10. He'd probably deadpan and say TreD all along, which may actually be true. I remember right after the college season ended two years ago most mocks had Mahomes in the 3rd round area because he was a scrambler and had some erratic play in college. Didn't think he was a pocket passer. Virtually everyone forgets that now, its amazing how the vast majority of NFL fans and network dudes act like they knew all along and the Bills were nuts to pass on Mahomes. Don't hear anyone from Cinci complaining about taking John Ross instead of Mahomes at 9. At least we passed on him and got a nice prize to show for it. Where are the irate Bengals fans? You picked a bust WR in front of the NFL MVP quarterback. (Ok he might not be a bust, but in a redraft he goes in the 4th round. Awful target to catch ratio, probably the worst in the league)

Just got a stadium survey from the Bills
Da webster guy replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you didn't say sightlines are very important I'm pissed at you. They also didn't bring up noise as part of the survey, as in crowd noise being factored into design. Pittsburgh fans still upset about the idiots who designed Heinz field leaving one end open "to see where the rivers meet and the city profile". Meanwhile, all the noise blows right out that endzone and they have zero homefield advantage with regard to noise. Opposing teams audible away, even at the goal line. So stupid. And they're a real football town with knowledgeable hardcore fans, it's not Miami or La where they wouldn't know an audible from an ottoman. -
Well we can't get swept by the Pats every year and make the playoffs, and they embarrassed us with the run game for like 250 yards on the ground. It was more than just not having Milano. We need a 1st and 2nd down run stuffer, Lorax comes in fresh on 3rd downs to cover TE's or rush. We have the money. And we also have to assume an injury is coming in the LB corps every season. Take a hard look at this dude.

Ive posted this before, either move it to Saturday at 5, or at the very least coincide it with Martin Luther King day Monday which is a national holiday and lands close to the superbowl every year but never the day after. Just synch em up. And someone explain to me how ratings are better on a Sunday nite at 11pm vs Saturday at 9pm. Its such a stupid system. Jesus the NFL changed the catch rule DURING the playoffs just before the superbowl, dont tell me they arent about change

Actually I had to set a new DUI rule for my couch ever since my brother fell asleep with a beer in his hand (during a later game) and it landed on my dog, which then spilled onto my open laptop keyboard. I make him walk the line and touch his nose every so often now, in accordance with the posted DUI rules on my fridge....

Andy Isabella: Josh Allen's potential new toy
Da webster guy replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks quick. I like posts like this. I'm afraid of 180 lb guys holding up to NFL pounding and I'd have to compare him to McKenzie who has 4.42 speed, and weighs about the same, knows our system, gets good separation. The biggest thing with getting new WR's is we have to have guys with exceptional hands that can catch 65mph throws in December. Maybe this guy can, but I sure hope we don't try to draft anyone to catch Josh's passes until they actually catch some from him during a private pre-draft workout. He's not your everyday thrower, which is why I liked that Duke Williams QB in Canada (Reilly) has a cannon arm too. -
Josh drive at the end to come from behind and beat the Titans was up there for me. Such a critical rookie experience for a new QB to go through, broke a drought of several years since we did that and you could see Josh growing up right before your eyes. Minny game. Josh to Foster vs Jax on that amazing throw and catch, and also in that game the perfect tandem cut blocks by Zay and someone else to allow McKenzie to basically walk in the endzone on that jet sweep as Ramsey picks himself up off the turf.

[Incomplete Title] 1 year ago today...
Da webster guy replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And Kelvin Benj who killed our team with that ridiculous push off penalty at the goal line on 1st down in Jax. God that guy was useless. -
Should the Bills make a run at C.J. Uzomah [TE]?
Da webster guy replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah we have 4 picks from Round 4 (9th and KC pick) n Round 5 we have 4th n 9th (raiders). That 4 chances in 33 picks to get a TE and RB right about where the runs will start on those positions. Also, we only threw to Khari Lee once that I remember and he made an amazing catch. Are we sure hes just a blocker? -
Plusses for staying home: Large screen HD tv's are a beautiful thing. Having my own clean bathroom 30 feet away is great for us beer drinkers. DVR allows for rewinding and looking at plays instead of waiting for replays. No traffic, far cheaper, food is usually better at my house, drink of choice, family get together excuse, everyone at my house is positive about the players and team so no annoying complainers in your ear which can ruin it for me. Plusses for seeing game: Tailgating, walking in and seeing the field is always awesome, crowd energy, being able to watch all 22 players, big play madness that ensues in the stands, walking out after a win with tens of thousands of pumped fans.

Nick Foles Contract
Da webster guy replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wentz is gonna be a great qb in this league for the next dozen years man. He was the best qb in the NFL last year until his injury. No way he gets dealt. Zero chance. -
Can the Charger's KO the Patriot's Next Week?
Da webster guy replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he has like no zip left at all. Reminds me of Peyton Mannings last year. Knows every trick in the book at qb but floats balls and relies 100% on his mental game vs his physical game. -
WR Duke Williams of CFL’s Eskimos Signs with Bills
Da webster guy replied to LEBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A CFL guy who runs a 4.65 just stepping in as a #1 huh? Thats mighty slow by NFL standards. Tight end speed. Odds are he doesnt make the team, but imagine if he actually did and was great. He and Foster our top 2 receivers, one from Canada and one off the practice squad, burning no draft picks. -
Ja’Waan Taylor OT Florida
Da webster guy replied to billvernsays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the BPA mystery for me. Beane insists he's taking best player available, but how do you say a Dlineman will be a better player than an Olineman in the NFL? The answer is you can't. Is Ed Oliver gonna be better than Williams the OT? My point is there has to be some element of need infused into each decision. I'm hoping for a trade back, like tons of other teams that aren't taking qb's. -
Eagles at Bears -Playoff Game Sunday
Da webster guy replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Game is Sunday at 4:40 pm. Nanker coming off a bender, thinks it's Sunday morning -
agreed. I said in an earlier post somewhere, look the Eagles and Bears. They have some good receivers who get open (like we do) but they don't have a 1000 yard WR (Ertz the tight end had a monster year) We will be fine getting one more good college WR, one TE and then all big boys on both sides of the line. Maybe a LB. Beane says drafting for need can hurt a team, and he's probably sticking to that which means very likely he does DLine in the first.
-
Ugh. Please no more on this WR1 WR2 stuff. The Eagles are doing OK, Ertz has far more yards than Agholor, who has more catches than Jeffery etc. The Bears won a dozen games, who's their WR1 ? Cohen the running back? Robinson? Gabriel? They all have the same amount of targets. Just get three competent WR's to emerge from camp, we already have two, get a good TE, and start worrying about protecting the QB. Our problem this year wasn't guys getting open. There's just no way in hell Beane is giving away a high pick for a vet receiver. Also we need to remember what happened to us against the Patriots, I'm not sure just having Milano healthy is going to be enough to fix getting gashed for 250 yards on the ground. Personally i hope we draft all big guys on both sides of the ball for the first three or four picks. Then again I thought Josh should have been on the bench for at least the first 10 games so....... .

Are the Bills satisfied with their current RB's ??
Da webster guy replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
remember we have 4 picks out of 32 starting at #9 in the 4th round, then KC's pick, then the raiders early pick in the 5th, and our normal 5th round pick. Somewhere in there you'll see Beane grab a pass catching RB. Thats about the right spot to get a back. -
Benny Snell Jr. as our future RB
Da webster guy replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
beaner says he's drafting BPA. I think that means no RB's until later rounds -
Josh Allen Rookie Season Highlight Video
Da webster guy replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched it a few times. He's so fun to watch. And to think I felt strongly about him spending the whole year on the bench. He really learned on the job while still making it fun and didn't really get himself killed out there. -
Barnwell: Lessons Learned in 2018
Da webster guy replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is so true. Unsustainable turnover numbers early, and two phenomenal kicking games stole us at least three wins last year, whereas this year poor kicking certainly cost us the recent Jets game (kickoffs and FG). Every year trends emerge in the NFL, I still think there hasn't been enough emphasis on finding top quality kicking around the world. Every year multiple teams entire seasons come down to the better kicking team winning. If the Browns had Justin Tucker on their side of the field yesterday, they run the ball three times from the 40, pickup 5 yards and he comes in and wins the game in his sleep with a 52 yard laser. Ravens season over. People laughed when Raiders took Janikowski in the 1st, I wonder what the analytics say about that now.
