What can be expected against New England?
Da webster guy replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year in Orchard Park I remember they didnt score a TD until the 4th quarter, just like the superbowl. It was all field goals on both sides. It wasnt dominance at all. Thats in the past, lets play 2019 ball -
Boy he really attacked that 20th ranked Rams defense on a neutral field in the superbowl. 3 whole points going into the 4th quarter. GEEEEEENius. It's simple, if we stop the run game, which they failed to do last time, and they will keep it close and have a shot at winning. It's the same defense as last time, except we have the Italian wonder at LB and swapped Ed for Kyle. Their Oline is weaker. Sony is slumping badly. No Develin. let's play ball !

I refuse to watch that garbage show. the national enquirer of the NFL everything they say and do is clickbait, headline grabbing, sensational stuff. Was forced to watch it for almost 20 minutes at Sports Clips the other day getting my haircut and I wanted to take my own life after 5. Let me guess, Shannon said the same thing about Tom Brady before the superbowl when they went into the 4th quarter with 3 points and eeked out a total of 13 on a neutral field vs the 20th ranked Rams defense.

If I was head coach I wouldn't have said a word to him after the pick. Not a word. Talk about next drive and keeping your head up. We don't need another Joe Ferguson head hanger. He needs to have a short memory, not be told something he already knows over and over and over again. Beating a dead horse can mess with a young dude's psyche

I think Bulldog said yesterday there are 20 qb's under the age of 26 that are starters right now. Josh hasn't even played a full season (but you'd think from the way McD and Daboll reacted to his INT that he was getting cut. Lighten up guys, you've made your point enough, he gets the message)

Uh Brady doesn't look as good as ever. Sadly I had to watch him play because he's my fantasy QB. He had that erratic ball about a third of his throws, short armed quite a few. Didn't need to do much yet this year. Reacted poorly to middle pressure as always but the only ones who did that were the Jets a few times. Last good team they played was the Rams. Pats had 3 points going into the 4th quarter. Brady ended with 21 completions and a pick. The Rams D ranked 20th last year, they aren't some defensive powerhouse. People are falling into the Cleveland Browns trap with this NE team, don't judge anyone (including us) until they face real competition. Develin is on IR, Sony Michel is struggling with a putrid 2.4 ypc so far this year and only 1 positive gain after contact. I have no explanation for that, he seems so tough but he's slumping. There are three guys that we will key on: White (nice and fresh with a week off), Edelman and Burkhead. They don't have Gronk, they don't have a great Oline, which is good because last year they averaged like 8 ypc against us in the most embarrassing showing of run defense since that Leveon Bell game. We didn't have Milano, but Tremaine showed his weakness in run D that day. Singletary is likely out until after the bye, and our pass protection after Feliciano went out is weak. It's gotta be the Frank Gore, Josh Allen show on offense. Two future hall of famers. p.s. everyone talks about how old Frank Gore is, when Brady was playing in his first superbowl Frank the Tank was gettin his tux ready for the senior prom. -
Peko has been with us all year through camp and Taylor was a surprise cut we added to the practice squad a few weeks ago from Miami who played pretty well for them the past few years but had injuries both years. My Dolphins fan buddy said he was impactful and stout in the middle but apparently not a scheme fit for Flores in Miami. Last time we played the Pats (minus Milano) they shredded us for almost 300 rushing yards. We only have Star, Ed and Jordan Philips in the middle so obviously someone needs to fill in for Harry. They wouldn't activate both dudes would they? .

I would lean heavily on my OC in that situation and the assistants up top in the booth as to how well the Oline has been doing on short yardage vs a stacked box. If they see a matchup we keep winning in the trenches and they feel strongly about getting a yard I'd say go power ball and hammer it in, if I'm on the road I'd go either way. At home i'd probably kick it simply because our defense has a big advantage at home. Gore is a really good short yardage back though, the best we've had in awhile. He lowers that head, gets low but keeps his knees from hitting the ground and comes in like a bowling ball.

It was a good interview. Poyer was pretty clear they aren't freaking out, they're staying humble but expect to do well on Sunday. "Yes, we have to deal with New England, but don't forget they have to deal with US" The biggest advantage we have is the Pats Oline is in flux, (like our right side was yesterday). They expect the short game, dink and dunk, rub routes, forcing you to stop the run or making you pay if you don't. Tremaine needs to have a whopper of a game with all their screens and middle of the field stuff.

Dude hates to lose that's for sure. And his ability to sense and evade pressure is up there with Russell Wilson and Rogers right now. Unteachable stuff. Lateral quickness, little cuts and spins, and all the while he seems to always manage to keep his eyes downfield. After last night watching Mayfield, I'd say in a redraft right now he goes #1 overall to almost every team.

over 400 yards of offense today. i didn't get the sense that our guys weren't getting open. Gore over 5 yards per carry, Singletary a rising star at RB. All we need is the Oline to improve. Ford isn't ready to start yet. Josh did not have much of a pocket at all today, multiple jailbreaks with less than 2 seconds to read and throw. If I were gonna add a weapon it would be a true RT

The worst offender of all is Sal Maiorana from the Rochester D and C. He's the new Jerry Sullivan. Unbelievably cynical and depressing. One guy on this board was upset that we haven't had a 300 yard passer in years. Just had a huge home opener win to remain undefeated and he went online and posted a new topic on how embarrassed he is. Some people.....

Josh Allen - week THREE report card
Da webster guy replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I rewatched the offensive plays on the DVR. Josh had a clean pocket on 6 dropbacks and that was it. Grade him anyway you want, the majority of NFL qb's would've been sacked 10 times and left the field on a stretcher. We lost Waddle to IR, traded Teller, and now Feliciano is hurt. We have a rookie who isn't ready to be out there playing guard and we have a serious problem right now. -
Yeah Feliciano has turned out to be a game changer in there with Morse by his side. With him out and Cody Ford in there, the dropoff was significant. Ive rewatched every snap so far this year and kept an eye on Ford because I think the Bills are forcing him into a role he's simply not ready to play yet. He has some solid plays for sure but he whiffs a fair amount and at the tackle position even more so. The kid was drafted high but it does not mean he should be thrown in the fire.

It's hilarious to me that after a great last minute defensive stand in the home opener to remain undefeated, this is the post you come up with. 250 yards per game puts you at 4000 on the year. That's Josh's pace right now, a 4k passing total in his first full NFL season. I'd worry more about our offensive line without Feliciano and the poor play of Cody Ford thus far. Josh definitely won't get your 300 yard season for you if the line protects like it did today.

My one peeve from the Giants game
Da webster guy replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ugh that drop by Knox was the absolute perfect throw by Josh. Fit it in a tight window in a critical play. Knox just couldn't hold on to it. Made me wonder a little bit how this guy who only caught 39 passes in college as a walk-on, and now has only 2 catches on 6 targets in the pros is someone we feel has good enough hands to catch Josh Allen fastballs. I'm not so sure. We traded back up to get this Chris Hogan type all-around athlete, had a fantastic block on the Motor TD run, but we already have a great blocking TE, we need a Kelce, Ertz, Kiddle, Hockenstein type receiving TE. We drafted a pair of them this year looking for just that. I hope Knox's ball skills improve. -

interesting to see the different takes on this. As i remember it the Giants secondary was awful. Slow, uninspired. Brown was open all day by a lot and so were many other guys. At one point Bease didn't have a single guy within 15 yards of him on that long completion. We had two timeouts and would need to go about 30 yards for Haush money to try a long bomber. Complete lack of balls to not even run one play and see how it pans out. It's not like Josh was getting destroyed every play. You're developing an offense that is 80% brand new guys playing together. every snap you learn a little more. Here's a live real game scenario that great qb's thrive in. Not only did he fold and take a knee, the offense came out cold in the 2nd half. Poor coaching decision. Missed learning opportunity. Sends a message to your team. -
40 time: 4.73 seconds (98th percentile) Short shuttle: 4.22 seconds (96th) 3-cone: 7.15 seconds (95th) Vertical: 36 inches (98th) Broad jump: 10 feet (98th) Ed at the combine. Ranking in the 95th percentile or above at your position in any one drill is impressive. Landing with that ranking at every movement drill is just insanity. These are linebacker numbers. Being slightly undersized for the position he plays, I just didn't expect the straight line power against pro's that are 50 lbs heavier. Really a perfect fit for this defense and he's still relatively slow off the snap on a lot of plays as he adjusts to the game.

I say the cheapest and easiest way is to call DTV and tell them you've moved back to your winter home in Buffalo now, and brought your receiver with you and you'd like to begin getting your beloved Buffalo local channels again. They'll transfer you to the Dish Movers Department, you should probably ask for that department first because the reps at DTV are complete idiots. Tell them you brought your dish with you and installed it on your roof (they'll ask to send out a tech or an installer, just tell them it's all done and there's no need). Use someone's address in the 716 that you know doesn't have DTV. This will be your INSTALL address and will give you full local Buffalo channels. As far as DTV knows (or cares) this is where you live until further notice. Tell them you still want your Long Island home to be the billing address, so nothing changes there. Make sure you're in front of the TV because the rep will send down a new signal for the receiver and it helps if you're watching the TV so you can confirm that the switch is made. Done. Now you get local Buffalo channels (and Ad's which will be funny when your Long Island Buddies ask you why they've never heard of ECMC) You don't have to stream, you can record everything on your Genie and you get all Bills games, including pre and post game coverage if it's on local TV. It'll be just like you lived back home. After the season if you get sick of seeing West Herr Ford commercials you can call the dish movers department and tell them you've moved back to your Long Island Lair and would like local channels reset to reflect that area. I've used this system many times in the old days to get blacked out games here in Rochester. I'd call in an install address outside the blackout zone for the season and get all the games. Don't wait until game day to do this because there can be big waits on the phone on weekends.

Rookie linemen on both sides of the ball take awhile to get rolling. Ed is way ahead of Cody at this point. The thing about Ed that's surprised me is his power. In college it seemed his strength was how quickly he fired out of his stance and split defenders, which really is his main objective as the 3 tech here, but he's shown way more power and bullrush for a guy giving up 40-50 lbs to the guard blocking him than I expected. Pro qb's are way better at cadence and fooling dLines with their hard counts etc. than in college. When Ed gets better at timing snaps he's going to really shine. What a perfect pick for this team on and off the field.

I say let the Motor sit regardless of how he feels. It's a hammy and it's some level of tear. Could be a simple grade 1 but why mess around with it? Keep giving him treatment and shoot for the Patriots game. We have two good runners who can pass protect and hammer the ball north and south. We're home against the Bengals as heavy faves playing a defense who just gave up 500 yards two days ago to the freakin niners. They don't have Mixon or AJ on offense. I see zero wisdom in risking any further issues with the kid. If you rush hammies they can nag you all year. Also, as much as I love the kid, most of his success thus far has been from the space provided by some excellent blocking by TE's and the big uglies. He's had some Emmitt Smith type holes to work with.

The Bills added their 11th and final member of their initial 2019 practice squad on two weeks ago, signing free agent RB Byron Marshall. Marshall, 25, was just released by the Washington Redskins on Sunday. He appeared in 10 games over the past two seasons for Washington logging 12 carries for 41 yards and 10 receptions for 66 yards. Originally an undrafted rookie signing of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016, Marshall (5-9, 215) was on the Eagles practice squad in 2016, but was elevated to the active roster and appeared in three games for Philadelphia that year. The University of Oregon product had over 3,000 total yards from scrimmage in his college career (3,170) along with 27 touchdowns. He had a 1,000-yard rushing season as a sophomore, and then a 1,000-yard receiving season as a junior. The addition of Marshall gives Buffalo a back capable of being elevated to the active roster in the event of an injury. RB Christian Wade is on the Bills practice squad, but carries an international player designation and because the people who run this league are morons, he can't play for us at all this year. Genius rule whoever threw that one in.... "hey lets get international athletes in the mix, we'll even give you an extra practice squad spot for 'em, but even if you get decimated with injuries and you'd like to activate them, well.....you know....haha, that'd just be silly to actually let them play. So lets make a rule that they can't play at all for at least a few games..... wait no, how about a whole month. Yeah they can't play for a whole month. Wait what's that Roger? A whole SEASON? Dude yeah let's tell em they're benched for the whole SEASON. hahahahaha it's perfect ! "
