  1. I love the guy. I don't know how many drops Knox has but it's obviously enough to concern anyone, he did it in camp quite a bit and again this year in regular season. Knox is tough, good blocker, but unproven as a receiver. Not in college, and not yet in the pros. Hooper might have injury issues that could scare away teams, but I think he'd beat out Knox in camp and earn the start next year.
  2. Fletcher had all 16 tackles and that one sack against us it seemed.
  3. And genuinely humble. He knows HE'S still a work in progress too as a head coach, still learning game management, etc. He said it a few days ago.
  4. Home field means less and less to a team like ours. Do we wanna be home? Of course we do. Is it a 3 point advantage for the other team in their house? Maybe for some teams, but the Bills Mafia represents in virtually every stadium, and our fans dampen the crowd noise enough that our offense can audible anywhere, and our defense gets to communicate better. (Tremaine always says how much he loves our home crowd but the noise makes it hard for him to communicate) I think if Daboll gets out of Josh's way we can start doing 28-35 pt games and it won't matter who or where we play. Our defense can work with those numbers.....
  5. He was my favorite last year too. Singletary type guy. Super elusive, great vision. I swear these smaller backs get a little advantage running behind a huge Oline in that they're harder to see for the LB'ers because they run so low.
  6. Yeah 100% they're gonna pay him and he's staying there for his career. He's good enough to win the big one, and he's not a headcase.
  7. Milano as fullback would be fun to watch. Or Ed with his LB speed. The other one is John Brown as a CB. The dude is really strong and tough, not just fast. If his past were different I could see him as a standout cover guy, ball hawk and good tackler.
  8. Hard to say. Before yesterday I might say Baker. Josh is more likeable to me, may have a better upside. Both dudes are SO green still.
  9. Sean gets conservative with just grinding out small leads because he's got a great defense and he's insanely afraid of getting a turnover. Example: last week Denver game up 3 possessions with 7 minutes left he just runs straight ahead into a 10 man front over and over. Not necessarily bad, just boring football. He can seem JauronEsque for that approach. Got him 3 more wins than last year already tho....im not complaining.
  10. Dude, I respect your approach, however I have to say you can show the family you care about them AND love your team at the same time. Stream it on your phone or a nearby laptop w no sound, play some music and keep the conversation going but also keep an eye on your game. Non-sports people just need to be trained, this is something you're passionate about and it means a lot to you, just like family. Show em you can do both, which you can, the average NFL play takes 5 seconds. Evolve dude. Take em with u. They'll understand and maybe even respect ur wishes more than they do now.
  11. So many replies here off topic. The answer is emphatically YES thats a great idea and painfully sad the league doesn't embrace the idea. One of the replies was (incorrectly) " well either way you have to play the next sunday" but thats not true at all. You get a bye week so you play in 11 days instead of 14, and you play again in 10 days instead of 7. So you have two games in exactly 3 weeks, just like a 14 day break and a normal game. If you do it with every team then it is an equal number, and the original poster is right you will never have a short four day week which the players (and the players union) has complained about heavily for years now. Great idea. I love Thursday nite football more than Monday nite (duh). League should do it. And while they're at it, put a goddamn white stripe on the football like college so we can see the muddy.lookin ball better you idiots. Imagine soccer, volleyball or golf with a mud colored ball? Yeah...we're that far behind. Still got old guys with sticks and chains (medieval invention) measuring first downs. They should wear armor and have shields too....
  12. This is a great post Gug. Daboll outcoaching himself is a concern of mine as well. I still remember a comment from Andy Reid when he was with Philly saying new coordinators are sometimes afraid to use the same play more than once in a game, and it's simply because they feel the defense will only allow one and then adjust. His point was that even with adjustments, a mismatch is still a mismatch, and game callers/qb's need to shake the fear that they can't repeat the same play. This was evident at the end of the last game we played, Denver had a TEN man front, knowing we were just killing clock, yet we were still grinding out first downs. Daboll seems to be afraid to call more than a few screen plays per game, if any, despite our exceptionally fast center and other linemen showing the ability to get downfield quickly and clear the way. Did you guys see the split screen misdirection play we called against Denver? (a Reid favorite) The RB goes left to set up an apparent screen pass, half the line blocks that way to sell it, and Josh spins to throw to slot receiver still well behind the line. It got sniffed out for no gain, but I love that call and hope they do it again. Under Sean's direction we play conservative ball, but Dallas doesn't and we'll have to match that style a little more than we're used to to get the W tomorrow.
  13. Was really proud of Cody. He did well, I felt like it was gonna be ugly but he Vonned up. Nice job from a guy Ive been whining about all season, he showed em all what he's got.
  14. Its not negative, but there were some bigass adjectives I'd never heard of.... tread lightly
  15. And Foster resuming his 2nd half dominance he had last year when nobody could cover him and he was blowing by guys. Ravens likely 1st round bye. We played the Chiefs tough last time though, no reason we can't be in that game, they still have issues on D.
  16. Yes and pre snap formations on defense can change many times in the final 20 seconds after the helmet audio is shut off. What they should really do is put the OC in one of those blue tents on the sidelines with a few spotters next to him in front of a few big screen TV's with an all-22 view of the field. Same view as being up in the booth but he can walk out at anytime or have Josh come in. During time outs ideally you want your OC to be standing next to the HC and QB.
  17. Hahaha "Wait my phones ringin again, didn't know we had cell service down here on the beach... Uh oh its Roman...Yeah hiya Greg whats up? I did what? FIRED you after a game where we gave up like 40 points on defense? Yeah well somethin hadta give.... plus my crystal ball says you'll be running the best offense in the league in 2019 and i'll be outta football so....."

  19. Dude what? You've been out of the playoff game too long (we all have) its not too early to point this out at all. Some teams have easy schedules coming up, we play the two best teams in the AFC and if Brisset rebounds Indy can easily tie us. Owning the tiebreaker is like getting a free win. Tie breakers have kept 11 win teams from making the playoffs before. ELEVEN wins and you still go home. Its huge.
  20. He and Foster both. Cmon Robert shake off your funk and get ballin' . Wait, does this mean I was incorrect when I yelled at the TV "you drafted the wrong Josh you idiots. It shlda been Rosen. ! "
  21. I think Russell Wilson is the gold standard for running qb's. Elusive, shifty but very aware of where the big hit can come from and geting down quickly. Josh has the insincts and the big Gronk stride where he doesn't look fast but he runs by you. The majority of qb's that run a lot have shorter careers and miss more games along the way though.
  22. Exactly. Today I would take Lamar, if I had to play it long term I wouldn't. He sure is exciting to watch though. Can't wait to face these guys here at home. We can hang with this team.
  23. Despite all that's happened this year, we're an overturned Mayfield fumble/forward pass call and a special teams mistake vs the Patriots from being 9-1. Philly is the only team that really took us down hard. I remain amazed at how critical some fans can be of their team. Sports are here to be enjoyed, and yet in the middle of a winning season with pretty high playoff probability some of these responses are head scratching. We've already won more games than last year with SIX more to go. In the spirit of the original post, I'll draw one comparison to the Bears last year: They were eliminated by weak special teams play, and we obviously have some serious cleaning up to do there, or that might bite us too. We've allowed a blocked punt, onsides kick, had numerous illegal blocks every week through week 6 (seems to be better now), some huge returns on kickoffs and punts. I can hear Marv Levy's voice in the back of my head "special teams is equally important to offense and defense". I know Sean preaches it too, but I question the competency of the coaching there and the results we've seen thus far. I expect the kick coverage teams to be breathing fire this Sunday after they see the film and get the talking to they need.
