Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video
Da webster guy replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it wasnt clearly over the uprights. It would have hit the net much higher. Or just go for 2 every time. -
Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video

Missin my point. He CANT know, he has no angle. To ask a ref to judge depth looking straight up? We tried it at Victor H.S. football field, you can tell on some easy, (we used tennis balls) but some you cant at all. If the dogs didnt keep stealing the balls it wldve gone smoother, so dont bring your mutt. Im happy we won too, just pointing out something fixable that could be another egg on the face of the league down the road. -
I've watched this kick in slow motion and regular speed a dozen times. Two things are clear, the first is that the ball was not above the uprights at all. It was close, but certainly the ref standing UNDER the upright has no clue. Second, this kick was good by several feet, not just a few inches. The NFL using the excuse that balls kicked above the upright are not reviewable is ridiculous, how do you know it was above the upright? There is only one way, from a side view camera even with the top of the goal posts which means either attached to the posts themselves or 40 rows up on the sidelines. The ones in the upper end zones have no angle on this critical piece of information. So many games come down to kicks, I'm shocked that this is just getting brushed under the table. NFL needs to wise up and use the simple technology available to be able to get these calls right. They finally added pylon cams, and even this year they are actually placing cameras on the first down markers (duh). Imagine a superbowl decided by a kick and we aren't even sure if you can challenge it or not? McD should have thrown the challenge flag "coach you can't challenge a ball above the uprights" McD "i'm challenging that it wasn't above the uprights, lets see your replay" uh....um....we just have a camera on the ends of the field and one under the goals posts in the middle so.....you know these cameras are expensive coach.

Like Yolo said, this was a case of us gameplanning against their weaknesses, which was why we kept coming at them with 4 and even 5 WR's at once. We don't know what we have in Moss yet, but if you want to see more running you might get your wish vs Miami, they struggled against the run last year and vs Cam last week they looked slow. They have two solid cb's in Xav Howard and Byron Jones, I would expect a stronger mix of runs. Shaq is a good add for the Fins run defense, will be interesting to see how he does out there.

I think he was 20 for 28 last season in college. Beane liked his power and he matched Haus in camp for kicks made vs missed.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
Da webster guy replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he was rattled, fidgety. Seemed like a preseason game for the Jets and a regular season game for us. Plus nobody noticed Kyle Williams in his Zimmer jersey out there making plays, which was cool because he's supposed to be retired. After rewatching, in Sam's defense, his WR's had a TON of drops, especially in the 1st half. I would say the biggest impact of no preseason or scrimmages on week 1 was the receivers. They struggled in every game from the Chiefs on Thursday all the way through to last nights games. Not just miscoms between them and the QB's but flat out drops. My conclusion is game catches and practice catches are a whole different animal, way more than I would have expected. In a lot of the cases it's the head turn BEFORE the ball gets there because for the first time since last year they're actually going to get popped by a guy that isn't on their team. -
Im with you. After re-watching the game #15 is everywhere. Drawing p.i. calls, blocking, coming back to help Josh on scrambles. He has a knack for sensing when to break off his route and move to the sideline area so Josh either hits him or throws out of bounds. Last time we had 2 guys this good at WR was Peerless n Moulds. Great to see. Hands, speed, crisp routes, team player, tough. He and Diggs are uncoverable.

Six for seven if i count extra points, which arent gimme kicks anymore. Beane should have Haus on speed dial just in case the kid cant turn it around

ooooh that catch at 4:17 talk about looking it all the way in to your hands thats a drop with just about anybody except maybe Nuk and Diggs. -
i remember Von after the game last year complimenting our young guys. That had to feel good, especially for Cody who likely got zero sleep the night before knowing he was going against the guy who he once watched win Superbowl MVP and completely take over games on multiple occasions. The Bills handled the Broncos 20-3 and after being a non-factor for most of the day, Miller tipped his cap to Dion Dawkins and Cody Ford. “(Ford) played well. Wish I could have had a couple more chances, but he played well. (Dion) Dawkins played well too. I think in unison with Josh Allen they played a good game. They did well. Cody should feel good about the way he played today. Dawkins should too,” Miller said.

I’m seeing 12+ wins for this team...
Da webster guy replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we sat all of our starters in week 17. Thats not trying to win, thats saying we don't care about this meaningless game as much we do resting our team for next weeks wildcard game. I would modify that Parcells saying to read you are what your record says in games you play your starters and try your best to win. Otherwise you might as well count preaeason, which is silly. Our backups held Jets to 13 points, I'm pretty confident thats a W for us if we needed it. -
That won't affect those of us that get the vaccine though. Either way everyone will develop immunity to this virus eventually, either by getting it live from another person or attenuated in vax form. One is a helluva lot more friendly to your body than the other, but there are a lot of people that still think there is mercury and toxic additives to vaccines. A LOT of people. If I believed that nonsense I'd be passing on the vac too.
-
Not to get too far into vax stuff, but this virus was fully mapped just 2 weeks after being identified and half a year ago. There is no precedent that can be applied to this worldwide vaccine effort. From the level of financial investment to the collective brain of every repected immunologist on the globe, this is truly unique. When someone says "Oh I work in pharma, this is a rushed vaccine, be careful" I bust out my tshirt with a pic of Fauci throwing out that horrendous first pitch and say "im followin THIS guy.... sure he can't throw AT ALL but thats because his brain sucks up all the muscle coordination."

Peter is a much better radio interview than writer. He's well plugged in to players, coaches, and media, he's got the audience and the credentials, but as Yolo said you have to realize the objective for a guy like Peter isn't in-depth analysis, it's to create a buzz and drive traffic. Which he does pretty well. Compared to his peers who do national coverage like say John Clayton, King seems a bit out of touch with his depth of knowledge and his takes.

Joe?!!!! Shhhhhhhhh So far so good

Are the Bills 'light' at DT and CB's ??
Da webster guy replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cam Lewis will be retained and get his chance to play at some point this season. Im predicting we go CB stud 1st round next year when we pick 32nd. -
Bills vs Jets what’s the game plan
Da webster guy replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think we're going to have a wild opening weekend with basically zero film to watch and players not used to actual live snaps vs opponents. There are bound be a lot of miscues and growing pains as players and coaches adjust throughout their first game. My only worry with the Jets is we have a few bonehead plays or turnovers due to the rust and they don't. It might level the playing field, and i'm predicting some bizarre upsets across the league for this reason. We're returning our coaching staff and a lot of players, but by my count we will have 10 new faces (not even counting special teams) wearing Bills helmets out there. Our interior Dlinemen will have some communication issues, there are just too many new dudes in the rotation, including a rookie. They will crack off a few runs against us. The playbook for a new Oline like the Jets is to run block as much as possible, it's easier for the new guys than pass protection, especially vs Hughes Addison who will surely feast next Sunday. If Darnold can't drop back and have enough time to sling it, the Jets are gonna face 8 man fronts and be punting a lot. I'm predicting a big roberts punt return -
Bills vs Jets what’s the game plan
Da webster guy replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole booth vs sidelines has an easy solution, the league should just adopt it. OC gets one of those ipad things the players use but his is the feed from a camera up in the booth that shows him exactly what he would see if he were up there. No replay, just a replica of what you see from sitting in your chair up high. Especially in a year where training camps and preseasons were shortened/eliminated, there's a lot of in-game coaching these guys could do if they were able to be on the sidelines. the technology is there to give them the best of both worlds. -
I’m seeing 12+ wins for this team...
Da webster guy replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with you, especially since our gains clearly outweigh our losses in personnel, and we were essentially an 11 win team last year. Only one team (Philly) in 17 games handled us. The two players that must stay healthy are Tre White and Josh. Either one of those two guys go down and the dropoff in depth at those positions is gonna hurt badly. -
I find it so strange that the only website I visit every day (this one) I have pretty much no idea about. I always thought it was weird that the schedule is always a year behind (either delete it off the banner, or take 30 seconds once a YEAR and update it) and the game scores are only filled in halfway, like my little nephew started this site and gave it up when he discovered girls at age 12. Clearly there are message board enthusiasts like me, a few moderators, and bots that pull/index content, but can someone explain what's up with this bizarre relic of a site that I love so much? I feel like this very post isn't going to see the light of day because I'm asking too many questions haha

Is anyone else less invested in this season than normal?
Da webster guy replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% pumped for the NFL to start. Don't really follow other sports until finals maybe, but read about the Bills every day and follow them like they're my own child. Sincerely sorry for those fans that don't share my enthusiasm. I guess you must have your reasons. I read a few negative posts and I just don't get it at all. Live in the light people! We have a fun team and a great season ahead.
