Saturday Night Football: Colts vs Pats thread
Da webster guy replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope McD is more aggressive too but it didn't help the cause any watching the Chargers HC Staley go for it three times inside field goal range and fail each time, giving up 9 points in the process and possibly costing the Chargers their entire season. -

Yeah I think Tenn will lose all of their games the rest of the way. If AJ and Henry are not piling up yards they stink on offense. They have zero depth. -
I think one guys name was Roger Goodellski and UncleTommy Bradyia. Seriously, whoever they were Daboll should have known as the game went on they werent throwing a flag unless its was a ridiculous mauling and Josh was breathing fire at that point. The wrong time for a fade/,touch pass to a smallish redzone target.

Inside the 20 with a chance to win it two games in a row

Gabe plays pretty big and has great hands/catch radius. As much as I hate fade passes, I'd rather see them go to #13 instead of #14 -
I agree but Daboll should have enough feel for the game/refs at that point to know the Bucs are likely going to maul our receivers and the refs are unlikely to throw the flag. On top of that, fades arent a high percentage play to begin with and Josh was playing a bit wild with his injury/adrenaline going full blast. Not the time to call a touch pass fade to a 6 ft WR. I know they smoked Lattimore with that play but Diggs didn't use the setup move like last time, he gets held (no surprise), refs allow it, ball sails incomplete. For all the great new plays they installed and executed this week, it sure sucked to come up short.

Is it worth seeing if Antonio Williams should get a shot?
Da webster guy replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall
Singletary is having a good season. Considering his Oline, the guy is still averaging well over 4 ypc, better than guys like Henry, Ekeler, Mixon, Fournette etc. RB talent isn't the issue, its a combination of having mediocre run blockers and an OC that isn't exactly Greg Roman when it comes to blocking schemes and implementing an innovative ground game. Also we need lil Dirty back asap so I see them sitting Brieda or Zack again this week and only going w two backs. -
It doesn’t seem like we have a homefield advantage anymore

completely disagree. teams hate to play here, its common knowledge. -
What the Bills need to do to beat the Pats...IMO
Da webster guy replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah temp forecasts 5 days out can be fairly close but precip and especially wind very difficult to predict. Unless there's a big system moving through the wind generally settles as the sun sets, a sustained wind over 15mph is unlikely at night. It won't matter because we'll be warmed by the pure joy of beating these chumps. -
However many, I hope the BIlls fans aren't obnoxious idiots and show some respect for the fact that everyone has a right to support their team in any stadium without getting harassed beyond the friendly level. I saw a little kid in Miami jersey get hit in the ear with a huge snowball from a drunk Bills fan once and it was just ugly. In the words of Ron Burgundy (originally from Cheektowaga before he changed his name from Burgundowski) STAY CLASSY BUFFALO

Bills vs Pats: “pound for pound” teams analysis
Da webster guy replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mac is Mr Dink and Dunk. If we put him in a situation where he has to start slinging it on the run or under pocket pressure, he will show that he can't make all the throws necessary to come from behind against a good D. Overall I wasn't super impressed with NE today, but Judon can go Von Miller and wreck your game plan if we can't handle the guy, Good Interior Dline too. Their RB's keep getting tons of press but all three of them are average dudes, like our three really. Nod to us for home field, Josh, better receivers and safeties. They have a better pass rush, and Bill is a better game coach than McD. Bills 23-Pats 20 -
Around the NFL This Sunday 11/28 (Bills mini-bye)
Da webster guy replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Of course they get them with no Derrick Henry or AJ Brown, their top two players. -
vs the Pats power run game, Dane will be an asset. He's in the same league as Taron/Poyer in terms of hitting. There will be times we'll miss Tre but not this Monday night.

Week 12: Bills at Saints on Thanksgiving
Da webster guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. It's hard to hammer Beane for this personnel situation because he's been dumping huge draft capital into trench players. A.J., Ed, Rousseau, Boogie, Ford, Spencer etc. but until the lines get more stout it's hard to scheme around weak line play. This is a rebound team, the Saints are gonna get smacked in the teeth and they know it. I'm still openly pleading to Daboll to start trying our RB's 7 yards deep, can't he see the dancing at the line is partially due to our RB's not being deep enough in the backfield to be full speed when they hit the line? Especially Moss, the dude is a bowling ball but we're not using him that way at all. -

Its is frustrating but that was the best runner in football behind a top Oline. Overall we do pretty well against the run, it will be tough sledding for the Saints. -

I get the sense that our issues stem more from our play in the trenches than leadership/coaching. Firing McD is very unlikely. Bills will rebound like they did last week vs Jets, and then we get Spencer Brown and Star back, who add some much needed power to both sides of the ball. -
Yeah there's no debate on that. If Ford wasn't a high pick and such a likeable guy he doesn't make the 53 this year. Brown seems snakebit with the late start, injury and now this Covid designation. Not only is he better at RT but Williams graded out well at guard so Spencer really improves 2 spots which is 40% of our entire Oline. Strange but true, this 3rd round rookie with very limited experience is unfortunately a big part of our offense now.

Defense, and power running game I agree, but they lack a vertical passing game w dangerous WR's. I think a complete team needs that dimension. We have the personnel to play them in man coverage with a single high safety or even Cover 0 and flood that first 10 yards with defenders. Cant wait for that game.

When I first saw him at camp I remember thinking we'd better be drafting pass catchers with big strong hands because of the way he rips that ball, but for some reason--other than Knox-- we havent seemed to have any more drops than anyone else and that includes some smaller guys like Bease, John Brown, Lil Dirty etc. A good example of how effortless his throws are is the fade TD pass to Diggs. On TV it looks like a short pass but in reality that ball is going about 35 yards in the air and is a lot further than it looks, but his wind up is like he's throwing a little checkdown. Freak athlete.

yeah they cover almost every week. plus we are 2 TD's better than NY all day.

I think he is overrated, although no HC offers after multiple interviews tells me other GM's don't rate him that highly either. In his defense, nobody can go very far with poor Oline play, but he is so scared to run that defenses almost always know what's coming. I also agree w another poster wondering why we drafted Basham who never plays when we were so in need of Oline talent. Some of this is injury related, but part of it is poor planning.
