  1. Texans 31 Bills 20 Offense looks better, but DEF gets torched. Bass misses a FG and PAT before being released as McD's first scapegoat of the season.
  2. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. In this last game I noticed McGovern grabbing at his head while on the turf after a play (first play of our 2nd drive), but the broadcast completely missed it and didn't bother showing a replay. Then a few plays later he's taken off the field for concussion protocol. Then there was the huge clusterf* were Mcgovern came back onto the field after clearing protocol but the refs forced him back to the sideline again. Did we ever get an explanation for that?
  3. He was better about this in 2022 and 2023, but he's back to being conservative on 4th down this season. Punting on 4th and 2 from the 48 on our first possession was fairly cowardly. Punting on 4th and 1 from our 39 when we were down 14-3 (and the DEF not even slowing the Ravens down) was mind boggling.
  4. Because he hasn't lost a step. The next time Josh gets chased down and caught from behind by a defender this season would be the first. He's playing smarter and sliding more
  5. McD has really contained Lamar and Henry when we've played them (outside Henry's 20/143/3 game). The Ravens are the leagues biggest choke artists in close games. However, I feel like our DEF has to come back down to reality at some point. With no Milano, Bernard, or T Johnson it's almost unbelievable how well the defense has played the last 2.5 games Ravens need this a lot more than we do and I think they win a shootout 34-31.
  6. It don't get no better than solid
  7. I'd just like to thank god for making this post possible all glory to god
  8. They called Bass consistent earlier tonight too lol
  9. 69% FG in his last 17 games. Easily bottom 5. Perhaps dead last. As far as trading him? I doubt any team has a good kicker and is already giving up on their season only 2 weeks in. When's the last time a team traded for a good kicker mid season? Has it ever happened? I could see us cutting Bass during the season and signing a FA off the street (or CFL), but it's slim pickings out there
  10. Designated as a post 6/1 release this season (which he'd have to be) we save 100k against the cap by cutting Bass. We have a little over 4mm in cap space right now so that does leave us enough room to sign a kicker off the street. I'm not convinced York or Carlson are much better, but Bass has been an unacceptable 69% on FG over the last 17 games (regular and post combined).
  11. Admittedly it's a small sample size, but we're 2 weeks in and no other kicker in the league has slipped/missed like that (even though some have played in worse conditions). This isn't some one-off, it's a long term concerning trend. He's kicking 69% in his last 16 games and 55.6% in the last 4 games (regular and post season games combined). That 16 game stretch only includes 3 attempts of 50+ yards of which he made 1. Bass has 4 awful misses in his last 4 games (PITT game blocked kick and shanked 27 yarder, KC game missed 44 yarder, and the MIA game missed 45). It's not just that he missed those kicks, it's how those kicks looked. He had a kickoff short of the EZ in the Cards game returned for a TD (***** coverage to be fair) and a kickoff OOB. Weather conditions played a factor in all of those games, be it cold, snow, wind, or a damp field, but do you really trust this guy to make kicks at Orchard Park (or Arrowhead, or Paycore, or anywhere really) in January?
  12. Not sure how this is germane to the conversation, but yes I have kicked a football before (never in live conditions). I'm not claiming to be some expert on the matter. I'm just some schlub posting on TBD. I'm claiming that his kick against the Dolphins was the worst FG attempt in the NFL this season. Do you have an example of a worse kick? I'm also claiming that his kick was not in the worst conditions this season. Do you think the field in Miami week 2 was worse than the field in Brazil week 1 ? Based on the above, and how bad he's looked since the Giants game last season I think it's time to cut bait before this Bass costs us more games.
  13. I don't think it's hyperbole to say Bass's missed kick was the worst for any kicker in the NFL this season, even considering the conditions. Both kickers playing on that slip-n-slide field in Brazil week1 did better in worse conditions. They went 5/6 with the 1 miss hitting the upright. Bass hasn't made a 51+ yarder since week 4 last season. McD won't even let him attempt 55+
  14. Bass hasn't made a 51+ yard FG since week 4 last season
  15. For anyone that's curious: ARTICLE 2. PROHIBITED ACTS BY BOTH TEAMS WHILE THE BALL IS IN THE AIR Acts that are pass interference include, but are not limited to: (a) Contact by a player who is not playing the ball that restricts the opponent’s opportunity to make the catch; (b) Playing through the back of an opponent in an attempt to make a play on the ball;
  16. The Dolphins defender that did the 'tipped ball' gesture was nowhere near it. I think he assumed it had to be tipped based on the awful trajectory of the kick. Watching the replay I'm not convinced Bass slipped on the turf. His plant foot moved as part of the kicking motion, but I don't think it was the turf. It looks like he had a lousy approach and misplaced his left foot. Then as he kicks it he was so out of position his left foot lifts up and he does an awkward jump skip to compensate. Tough to tell without slow-mo though. I'm just spamming the pause/play button on the one angle Amazon gave us
  17. It was so off target I understand why people thought it was tipped. I just watched a replay and it was 100% not tipped. Bass shanked the F out of it
  18. Flores is a better coach? Dude was a straight up clown that nearly destroyed Tua's career by benching him repeatedly for a washed up Fitzmagic. Miami's DEF was certainly better under Flores, but the overall team is better under McDaniel (who I'll agree is not a good head coach).
  19. I kinda thought they would give it to Tyreek with a statement about how he persevered against discrimination barf
  20. As a huge Von hater I was pleasantly surprised that he made a great play and got a sack. Wayyyyy too early to be eating crow though. OP can bump this thread when Von makes it to 10+ sacks and/or dominates playoff game(s)
  21. Why on earth did we sign Brown to this extension when he still had a season left on his rookie deal? Way too much for a guy that's only had one decent season. Said it earlier in this thread, but this is going to be Dawson Knox 2.0
  22. The defender hit Allen in the facemask before latching on to his collar and whipping him around to the ground. The hit to the facemask makes it a RTP. Weak call, but at least it wasn't a phantom call like the one on Murray
  23. Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln? Special teams gets an A+ for the day without the kick return for TD and kickoff out of bounds. Factoring in those 2 plays it's probably a D for them.
  24. Sorry, but I hate this. Brown has had injury concerns (back problems with his height is not a good combo). His first 2 seasons he was awful, like worst starting RT in the league awful. 3rd season was solid, but he was getting a lot of help from TE/RB chipping. Why would we rush into a contract extension when he still had another left on his rookie deal? This is going to be Dawson Knox all over again.
  25. I agree with you on Worthy, but what the heck does Bishop have to do with this discussion? We drafted Bishop in the 2nd round with our original pick. No trades required.
